Thai rock star jailed on gun and drugs charges

BANGKOK, Thailand -- Thailand's Supreme Court has jailed one of the kingdom's best-known rock stars for more than three years on gun possession and drugs charges.
Seksan Sukpimai, better known by his stage name Sek Loso, was convicted of illegal gun possession, drug use and obstructing a police officer.
The 50-year-old founder and lead singer of Loso, one of Thailand's most successful rock bands, has long been a staple of Thai gossip columns because of his colourful personal life.
He was originally arrested in 2017 after firing a gun into the sky following a concert in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
The Supreme Court ruling ordered Seksan to serve two years, 12 months and 20 days in jail.

New Brunswick RCMP seized several weapons and drugs on May 27, 2025. (Source: RCMP) Seven people were arrested after New Brunswick RCMP seized 31 firearms and 'significant quantities' of drugs from six locations last month. Arrest made after $320K worth of drugs seized from Seton apartment
Police seized guns and approximately $320,000 worth of drugs from a southeast Calgary apartment during a May investigation. Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) launched its investigation into suspected drug activity in April. ALERT's investigation led them to an apartment in the community of Seton on May 22. Three loaded handguns were seized, along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Police also discovered 2,002 grams of cocaine, 2,008 grams of methamphetamine and $51,000 in cash. A man was arrested as part of the investigation and was charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and multiple firearms-related offences. ALERT noted the man had a lifetime firearms prohibition due to a previous conviction. Anyone who suspects drug or gang activity is occurring in their community can call their local police or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

16-year-old among 3 arrested after incident at Barrie plaza involving weapons, drugs
A 16-year-old boy is among three people arrested following an incident Thursday evening involving weapons and illegal drugs at a plaza in Barrie. Police attended St. Vincent Street and Cundles Road around 7 p.m. after receiving a report about three unwanted people in an establishment located within the plaza. Police say when they arrived in the area, one suspect took off on foot but officers quickly caught up to him in a parking lot across the street. While searching the area, officers reportedly found a discarded satchel containing suspected fentanyl and cocaine, a replica firearm, and drug-related paraphernalia. A second male ran into a business and tried to hide in a washroom where he was located and arrested. Officers allegedly found a loaded semi-automatic firearm and drugs in his possession. The third suspect, a 39-year-old man from Toronto, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from an incident that police say happened in April involving local officers. The teen, from Barrie, is facing drug-related charges, along with failing to comply with a sentence and a release order. His identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. A 20-year-old man from Barrie is charged with a slew of weapons and drug-related offences, including possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose. The trio spent the night in police custody to await bail hearings.
