Knicks next coach odds take unexpected turn after latest interview denial
The New York Knicks appear to be having a hard time finding a head coach.
Rather than having an available name lined up when they decided to fire Tom Thibodeau last week, the Knicks have been trying to poach a coach from another team. So far, that plan has been a massive failure, with ESPN's Shams Charania reporting Wednesday that the Atlanta Hawks denied New York's request to speak with their head coach -- the fifth known team to do so.
So, where do the Knicks turn now? The Athletic's Sam Amick reported Thursday the team is now focusing on Mike Brown and Taylor Jenkins as targets. And now Brown is the new +105 favorite at DraftKings to land the job.
Unlike, Atlanta's Quin Snyder — and Jason Kidd, Ime Udoka, Chris Finch and Billy Donovan before him — Brown is not currently on a team. He was fired by the Sacramento Kings back in December.
After Brown, Jenkins, who was fired by the Memphis Grizzlies in March, has the next best odds at +175. They're followed by ex-Cleveland Cavaliers and Knicks assistant Johnnie Bryant (+350) and ex-Nuggets coach Michael Malone (+500), the two former favorites whose odds have dropped since the latest reporting.

PGA Tour Poaches Top NFL Executive as Tour's New CEO

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. For months, rumors swirled about Jay Monahan's future with the PGA Tour. In May, we even saw reports listing potential candidates to lead the Tour, but nothing was confirmed. The Tour remained silent, keeping speculation alive, until ESPN's Adam Schefter broke the news amid golf's biggest event - the US Open. As big names like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau battled at Oakmont, reports revealed Brian Rolapp as the new PGA Tour CEO. Brian Rolapp, a highly respected longtime NFL executive who some consider as the potential successor to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, is leaving his post as the league's EVP to become PGA Tour CEO, sources tell @sethwickersham and me. According to Sports Business Journal, he will work closely with PGA Tour Enterprises, the Tour's for-profit branch, which launched last year after a $1.5 billion investment from the Strategic Sports Group. Interestingly, the news didn't come from the PGA Tour itself. On the Golf Channel podcast, Rex Hoggard and Ryan Lavner pointed fingers at the NFL, saying: "I think there was a little bit of pushback, as a rule in the industry, the PGA Tour wouldn't make any kind of announcement or any kind of leak about news like this during a major championship," Rex Hoggard stated. "The U.S. Open is run by the USGA" he continued. "To be clear, this news came from the NFL side." "This did not come from the PGA Tour." What does this mean for the PGA Tour & Monahan? The CEO search began in December, with the Tour making it clear they wanted an outsider with fresh perspectives. "We are bringing new perspectives on our team to help us realize the incredible opportunities for our sport," the Tour announced last December. The timing wasn't random, though. (Photo by) More Getty Images Monahan had faced increasing pressure, particularly with stalled merger talks and player frustrations over Saudi Arabia's PIF negotiations. Despite that, his leadership has delivered major financial wins. Over the past three months, the Tour has secured 14 new deals, bringing in $400 million. By 2035, total sponsorship commitments are projected to exceed $4 billion. Said that, Monahan is leaving nowhere. Rolapp won't replace him but will serve as the Tour's first-ever CEO, reporting directly to Monahan. His primary role will include steering commercial growth, handling business decisions, and leading negotiations with LIV Golf. Rolapp's hire is a shake-up for the NFL too When Roger Goodell signed his last extension in 2023, speculation about his eventual successor erupted. Rolapp was a frontrunner, having been instrumental in securing the NFL's record-breaking $111 billion media rights deal. Many believed he would be the next commissioner. 🚨💼⛳️ JUST IN — Brian Rolapp, the 2nd highest executive at the NFL is leaving his role to become the Chief Executive Officer of the PGA TOUR, sources confirm to @AdamSchefter. — NUCLR GOLF (@NUCLRGOLF) June 12, 2025 But instead of preparing to run the biggest sports league in America, he's now stepping into golf's biggest business role. As the NFL's Chief Media and Business Officer, he helped turn the league into a media powerhouse. He was the architect behind Thursday Night Football's rise and played a key role in securing the NFL's massive media rights deal. And the PGA Tour expects no less! What happened to the Celtics against the Knicks, and what's next this offseason? What happened to the Celtics against the Knicks, and what's next this offseason? What happened to the Celtics against the Knicks, and what's next this offseason? Derrick White is going international this offseason. The Boston Celtics star is heading to Singapore to try his hand in coaching. White will be one of the coaches during a four-day camp for the 15th edition of Baseball Without Borders (BWB) Asia, which will be held at the Singapore Basketball Centre next weekend. Sixty of the top youth basketball players in Asia will take part in the camp, and White is one of the three current NBA players who will participate. In addition to White, Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers and Doup Reath of the Portland Trail Blazers will coach in the camp. A handful of NBA assistant coaches -- including former Boston College star Jared Dudley, who is now on the Dallas Mavericks staff -- and WNBA legend Ticha Penicherio are also heading overseas to coach. This marks the second straight summer White is going international. After he helped lead the Celtics to an NBA Championship in 2024, White played a hand in the 2024 U.S. Men's Olympic team winning gold in Paris. At least this time around, he won't be hitting the floor too much and can rest up for the upcoming season. During the BWB camp, White and the other coaches will lead campers through a number of activities, including movement efficiency drills, offensive and defensive skill stations, three-point contests, and 5-on-5 games. There will also be sessions that include lessons on life-skills and leadership development. The camp will conclude on Sunday, June 22 with a ceremony to hand out awards for the camp's MVP, the Three-Point Champion, the Defensive MVP, and a Sportsmanship Award. Basketball Without Borders Basketball Without Borders was organized by the NBA in conjunction with FIBA and has hosted camps since 2001 in 53 cities across 33 counties. There have been over 4,600 participants in Basketball Without Borders camps over the years, and 132 of them have moved on to the NBA or WNBA. That list includes Josh Giddey of the Chicago Bulls and Josh Green of the Charlotte Hornets (both from Australia) and Rui Hachimura of the Los Angeles Lakers (Japan).

New Texans RB Nick Chubb pens goodbye to Cleveland, thanks Browns fans

New Texans RB Nick Chubb pens goodbye to Cleveland, thanks Browns fans Houston Texans Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb is ready to start over at NRG Stadium in 2025. But before he can begin his next chapter, he must close the final one in Cleveland. Chubb, a four-time Pro Bowl running back and beloved member of the Cleveland Browns for seven seasons, poured his heart out in an Instagram post for the final time with Browns fans, thanking them for the support, love and admiration during his time in the AFC North. "7 years," Chubb wrote. 'That's more than just time - it's where I grew roots, found a home, and felt a love like nowhere else. Cleveland, you didn't just embrace me; you became family. To every fan who cheered, shouted, and believed — you gave me purpose. To this city, with its grit, heart, and unforgettable spirit: you showed me what true community feels like. "This city deserves a winning season every year. It's earned it. This city doesn't quit. The people never stop believing. And my Brothers in that locker room, will never stop fighting. Cleveland's time is now … and not because they are owed anything, but because RESILIENCE ALWAYS WINS. Just like we preached everyday in meetings." Chubb, who signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans earlier this month, became a staple of the Browns' turnaround in 2018 after being selected 35th overall out of the University of Georgia. During his seven seasons, he posted four 1,000-yard rushing campaigns, including a career-high 1,525 yards and 12 TDs in 2022. Injuries derailed his Hall of Fame-worthy career, limiting him to 10 games over his final two seasons. When he returned last October, Chubb scored a touchdown during the first quarter against the Cincinnati Bengals, though it was one of the few highlights of his final season with the lowly Browns. He finished with just 332 yards for a career-low 3.3 yards per attempt and three scores. The fans, however, never stopped showing love toward their star offensive player. 'This isn't goodbye to what we built; it's a thank you," Chubb wrote. "For the trust, the passion, and the moments that made me feel like I belonged here from day one. Cleveland, you'll always have a piece of my heart. Until we meet again." Chubb, who likely will retire as a Brown one day, leaves as No. 3 on Cleveland's all-time rushing list with 6,843 yards in 85 career games. The only two in front of him are face-of-the-franchise Pro Football Hall of Famers Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly. His story is over in Cleveland, but a new chapter begins in Houston, one that hopefully will be met with the same admiration among fans from the AFC South.
