Peppa Pig's new baby sister seen for the first time
The name and first pictures of Peppa Pig's baby sister have been revealed as the family welcomes a new member. The animated show, which has told the story of Peppa, Daddy Pig, Mummy Pig, and her little brother George for more than two decades, announced the pregnancy in February.
ITV's Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Arnold on Tuesday shared the first photographs of baby Evie. Arnold said: 'Daddy Pig has just shared these pictures with me of Peppa's brand new baby sister Evie, named after Mummy Pig's Aunt Evie, she was born at 5.34am this morning.'
The gender of the baby was revealed in April when the chimneys of Battersea Power Station were lit up in pink to show Mummy Pig was expecting another girl. The animated show later announced an hour-long screening format, Peppa Meets The Baby, which is due to come out on May 30 and will feature 10 new song-filled episodes as Peppa and George prepare for the arrival of their sister.
Evie is expected to appear on screen in the series from autumn. Co-created by Neville Astley and Mark Baker, from animation studio Astley Baker Davies, the series first aired in 2004 on Channel 5 Milkshake and Nick Jr.
Experts at the LEGO group, which has a range of Peppa Pig sets, say toys can be a perfect way to introduce the idea of a new baby to children. A spokesman said: "Whilst we know welcoming a new child to the world is exciting, we know the arrival of a sibling can be a big change for little ones. While it's mostly very exciting, it can also feel kind of strange.
"Talking to them and getting them prepared for little ones' arrival can also feel daunting for parents. If you're looking for ways to talk about the arrival of a new baby brother or sister with your little one, the LEGO DUPLO Peppa Pig range is a great way to have those big conversations in a manageable and gentle way, engaging with them through play."
LEGO has a range of DUPLO Peppa Pig sets available, from a Birthday House to a supermarket.

Laurence Fox could face trial in 2027 over upskirting photo of TV star
The actor-turned-activist is alleged to have shared a compromising image in a tweet posted in April 2024 of Kaur, 52, who appears regularly on Good Morning Britain and has previously appeared on GB News. Ms Kaur, who has waived her right to anonymity, sat in the public gallery at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday as Fox, of Peldon in Essex, appeared charged with two counts under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. The 47-year-old defendant is accused of sharing a photograph of a person's genitals 'intending that the person or another person would see the genitals, and for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, and being reckless as to whether that person would be caused alarm, distress or humiliation' in the first count. The second count alleges he shared a photograph which showed, or appeared to show, 'another person in an intimate state, with the intention of causing that person alarm, distress or humiliation'. The court hearing on Thursday was listed for plea and trial preparation but Fox, who was wearing a white shirt and grey blazer with jeans, was not asked to enter any pleas. A provisional trial with a time estimate of four days was set for December 6 2027 at the same court, with Fox granted bail to appear for a further case management hearing on November 14 this year. Sarah Forshaw KC, defending, asked the court if it would be possible to look at whether other venues may be able to accommodate an earlier trial as 'December 2027 is a long way ahead'. The police previously said Fox had been 'charged with an offence contrary to section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003' which 'relates to an image that was posted on a social media platform in April 2024'. Section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act relates to 'cyber flashing'. The charge, introduced in 2023, makes it an offence to intentionally share a sexual image of someone without consent, with the aim of causing alarm, distress, humiliation or for sexual gratification. Upskirting, taking pictures of people under their clothes without their permission, became a specific criminal offence in 2019. Offenders can face up to two years in jail and be placed on the sex offenders' register. Fox was fired from GB News in October 2023 after an on-air rant about journalist Ava Evans. He previously starred as James Hathaway in ITV's drama series Lewis.

Love Island fans spot tell tale signs villa beauty HATED snog with show hunk – did you?
LOVE Island viewers are convinced one Islander was not feeling it whilst snogging a show hunk on the terrace. During Wednesday night's episode, Dejon Noel-Williams, 26, and Megan Forte Clarke, 24, snuck off for a quiet chat - or so their co-stars thought. PT Dejon started the chat, telling musical theatre performer Meg: 'I like the way that things are going.' She replied, 'Yeah, same. I feel the exact same.' But the tension was hard to ignore as she added, 'I feel like we talk… everyone else's f*****g business.' Advertisement Trying to take things to the next level, Dejon asked if she still wanted to share a bed with him, to which she said yes. Then came the kiss - and that's when fans say the red flags really started waving. Before Dejon leaned in, Meg awkwardly asked, 'Oh, you're going to kiss me?' And once the kiss was over, she laughed and said, 'Is that enough?' Advertisement Fans took to Instagram to dissect the painfully awkward moment, with one writing beneath some grabs of the scene: ''Oh ur gonna kiss me' & 'was that enough' – she DID NOT want that." Another added: 'That was so false hahaha she doesn't like him. Her face afterwards said it all.' 'Get him out!' rant Love Island fans after boy's 'scary red flag behaviour' A third agreed: 'SO TRUE she don't like him like that.' ITV2 viewers previously slammed Meg after she made a huge U-turn in bid to stay in the villa. Advertisement And it came just a day after she seemed "underwhelmed" when she chose Dejon in last night's launch. On Monday night, Meg chose Dejon, but when they met for the first time, fans were convinced there was no attraction on either side. In fact, she then went onto tell the rest of the girls later in the episode that she wasn't really "feeling him". But as Tuesday's recoupling loomed, Meg seemed to change her tune. Advertisement In fact when she saw US bombshell Toni chatting to Djon, she was heard saying to her fellow Islanders: 'I don't have my man, Dejon's gone - that's it!' This didn't go unnoticed by fans, who took to social media to vent about her "game plan" One said: "Meg doesn't like Dejon but she's got to secure her place in the Villa, baddd!" While another chimed in: "All Meg is worried about is going home, she don't care about Dejon." Advertisement This one added: "Meg defo has a game plan! "She's being all sweet to Dejon to stay on the show." Later, Dejon and Meg were up on the terrace and Meg continued her fight not to get dumped, and upped her game. So much so, Dejon was heard reassuring her: "You haven't got anything to worry about, you're my favourite, one thing about me is I'll always be honest with my feelings.' Advertisement It comes hot on the heels of viewers venting that Meg had "no interest" in Dejon last night. It came after she looked disappointed when she picked him in the recoupling. Again venting on social media, fans shared their thoughts. "Meg doesn't fancy him at ALL," said one. Advertisement "meg's face changeddd when dejon walked out," said another. A third person added: "Meg is not into Dejon in the SLIGHTEST." "Yeah Meg doesn't like Dejon, he is definitely not her type but she cannot outrightly say it," said a fourth. 4 The pair were coupled up during Sunday's launch Credit: Eroteme Advertisement

Loose Women star's husband begged her to quit show over serious 'worries'
After starring as a panellist on Loose Women for four years, the singer said her husband begged her to quit A former Loose Women panellist has spilled the beans on why she left the hit ITV show, revealing her husband's plea for her to step down. Celebrated opera singer Lesley Garrett, who has serenaded royalty including King Charles and the late Queen during her impressive 45-year career, is also known for her stints on television favourites like Strictly Come Dancing and Loose Women. After sharing her views on the daytime talk show for four years, Lesley has now disclosed that it was her husband, Peter Christian, a GP by profession, who influenced her decision to leave. "[It's] the only time he's ever asked me to stop doing something," she told the Daily Mail. "He said, 'At the surgery I've got ten minutes with each patient. And eight minutes is taken up with what you've said the day before. I'm worried I'm going to misdiagnose somebody, so please could you stop?'" It is not the first time Lesley expressed her family's fears about her time on the topical programme. In 2011, she said her parents asked her to "give it a rest" for a while. "My mum and dad said, 'Do you think you could just give it a rest for a bit because we can't go down the shops at the moment without somebody saying, 'What have you been up to?'" Despite the pressure, Lesley admitted, "But I enjoy it so much on the show. It's the best fun you can ever have." Now at 70, Lesley is gearing up for her summer concert, leaving fans to wonder if this performance might be the last chance for fans to see her. Speaking to the Sunday Express, Lesley hinted at hanging up her microphone soon to enjoy a quieter life with her partner in the south of France. On the topic of retirement, she remarked: "I do think about retiring, because I don't want to go on when I'm not as good as I was." Lesley said: "I want to quit while I'm ahead. I don't want to carry on past my sell-by date. My voice is changing, as voices do. It's still beautiful in the middle, but I can't get as high as I used to." She explained: "Every season I think could be my last. This one I seriously think could be my last year, because I am 70 and it seems like a very round number – I've been doing this for exactly 45 years." If Lesley decides to retire, she acknowledges that members of the Royal Family might miss her performances. Reflecting on Royal engagements, the South Yorkshire-born vocalist shared: "I have sung for King Charles and met him several times. I sang for both the King and Queen recently. "I really enjoy it, I think they do a great job. Their duty to the country is something that is very important to them. The King is very knowledgeable about opera and classical music in general, and the Duchess of Gloucester is very interested too. I've sung for her several times."
