Diddy trial updates: Closing arguments near in Sean Combs' sex-crimes case
This story contains graphic descriptions that some readers may find disturbing.
Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal fate hangs in the balance as the music mogul's landmark criminal trial nears a close.
After more than a month of harrowing testimony from several individuals in Combs' personal and professional orbit — from ex-girlfriends Casandra "Cassie" Ventura Fine and "Jane" to Danity Kane alum Dawn Richard and rap peer Kid Cudi — prosecutors rested their case in the sweeping federal sex-crimes proceeding on June 24.
In their final round of arguments, attorneys for the U.S. government zeroed in on graphic evidence from Combs' alleged "freak off" sex parties, which included video footage, text messages and financial records. Prosecutors painted a picture of Combs and his employees being personally involved with organizing the elaborate sexual performances, working with escorts, Combs' partners and others.
Meanwhile, Combs' attorneys rested their case in less than half an hour, with the defense opting not to call any witnesses to the stand. Their arguments mainly focused on romantic — and occasionally explicit — texts between Combs and Ventura Fine.
Although Combs' alleged abuse is at the center of the trial, the Grammy-winning rapper told the court he would not be testifying. Judge Arun Subramanian asked Combs' lead lawyer Marc Agnifilo if he spoke with his client about his right to testify, and Agnifilo said they discussed it at length.
Combs, 55, was arrested in September and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.
Take a look back at some of the biggest moments from the trial, as well as where Combs' case stands.

What is a RICO? Racketeering meaning
Racketeering is the participation in an illegal scheme under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Statute, or RICO, as a way for the U.S. government to prosecute organizations that contribute to criminal activity.
Using RICO law, which is typically aimed at targeting multi-person criminal organizations, prosecutors allege that Combs coerced victims, some of whom they say were sex workers, through intimidation and narcotics to participate in "freak offs" — sometimes dayslong sex performances that federal prosecutors allege they have on video.
How to stream the Diddy trial
The trial will not be televised, as cameras are typically not allowed in federal criminal trial proceedings.

Daisy Edgar-Jones Will Star in a New Adaptation of 'Sense and Sensibility'
Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. Good news has arrived for Jane Austen fans. The author's classic novel, Sense and Sensibility, is returning to the big screen. (The book was previously made into the Oscar-winning 1995 film starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet.) Here's everything we know about the remake. Sense and Sensibility follows the three Dashwood sisters and their mother, now a widow, in 18th-century England. The family is forced to leave their lavish Sussex family estate and move in with a distant relative who lives in a quaint cottage. There, the two eldest sisters, Elinor and Marianne, begin contrasting journeys of love and loss. ELLE's April 2025 cover star Daisy Edgar-Jones is set to lead the film. She'll play Elinor Dashwood, the eldest sister of the three siblings. In her cover story, Edgar-Jones spoke about the importance of playing layered characters. 'It's great that more and more stories are being made with women front and center,' she said. 'It's also an interesting thing, being a woman in your 20s, wanting to find characters who are not always ingenues. You want to find characters with agency. I want every character I play to be complicated and deep and have layers to them, because that's what it is to be human. I feel lucky that a lot of the characters I've played have had that. They aren't defined by their actions or their experiences, or by the men in their life.' Edgar-Jones celebrated the Sense and Sensibility news on Instagram in a photo posted today that shows her holding the book. She wrote a simple caption, '👀.' Other cast members have not yet been announced. The Sense and Sensibility remake will be brought to you by Focus Features and Working Title Films. Georgia Oakley (Blue Jean) will direct, and the bestselling author Diana Reid (Love & Virtue) will write the screenplay. According to Reid, filming begins next month. Not yet, though according to Focus Features, 'it's coming soon.' This story will be updated.

Tyla Channels Y2K Glamour in Roberto Cavalli Minidress at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards 2025
Tyla brought summer colorways and Y2K inspiration to the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2025 on Saturday in Santa Monica, Calif. The Grammy Award-winning singer served as the host for the evening's proceedings. For one of her many looks during the 2025 Kids' Choice Awards, Tyla wore a strapless minidress courtesy of Roberto Cavalli's spring 2006 ready-to-wear collection. Her dress featured a subtle high-low skirt with layers of draped fabric and a flowing silhouette and cascading ruffles. It included an ombre colorway quality, with the strapless look transitioning from an orange tone to bright yellow. The 'Water' singer coordinated the dress with a vintage-inspired hat and wore chunky jewelry pieces, including a necklace with a heart pendant. Tyla's look was curated by stylist Law Roach, who regularly collaborates with such stars as Zendaya, among others. Roach served as the stylist for Tyla's 2025 Met Gala look last May, which featured the singer in a floor-length Jacquemus dress with a coordinated dramatic coat and a long train with a black and white stripe motif throughout. Since her rise to mainstream fame, Tyla's collaborations with high-profile designers and accessories brands have grown. Last April, the singer was announced as the latest brand ambassador for Pandora, with a fresh campaign and curated collection highlighting some of the singer's favorite pieces. 'Partnering with Pandora is such an exciting thing to do. I've always found their jewelry so fun to style because you can create your own unique pieces of jewelry,' Tyla said of the collaboration in a statement. 'It reminds me so much of home because mom always made jewelry, and the birthstone charms remind me of the beads I used to have lying around in my house growing up. Whenever our mother wanted us not to bother her, she'd give us a big container of beads and my sisters and I would make friendship bracelets all day. Now my Tygers can have matching friendship bracelets with me.' The Nickelodeon 2025 Kids' Choice Awards were also attended by Ice Spice, Victoria Monét, Jack Black and others.
