Love Island first look as Harry and Helena make a bold move leaving Shakira fuming

Daily Recorda day ago

Tonight's episode shows the fall out from shock exit and a jaw-dropping move in a game of Snog, Marry, Pie....
Love Island is back on ITV tonight, following Friday night's dramatic twist that saw Megan and Remell dumped from the villa after being voted the least favourite islanders.
The episode also highlighted a growing divide among the girls in the villa, with tensions reaching boiling point as Toni and Helena clashed over Harrison. Their heated exchange left viewers concerned with the overall dynamic between the female Islanders.

But the drama is far from over. In tonight's episode, tensions escalate between Helena and Toni and Harry's surprise kiss with Helena leaves Shakira feeling betrayed and clearly upset.

Here is a sneak peek into tonight's episode, airing on ITV2 at 9pm...
Following the shock announcement that Megan and Remell have been dumped from the Villa, emotions run high as the Islanders prepare to say their goodbyes.
Tommy shares a heartfelt moment with Megan, telling her: "You've been a big part of my experience here and I'm grateful for it."
Meanwhile, Alima assures Remell there are "no hard feelings," as he packs to exit the villa.
In a touching exchange, Conor asks Megan: "Will you wait for me?" and she replies simply: "Yeah, I'll wait for you."

After the emotional farewells, Conor reflects with Ben by the fire pit: "I hand on heart do not think that anyone is going to come through that door that I fancy more than Megan… I look at her like a girlfriend on the outside."
Later, Toni and Yasmin unpack the latest results and the bottom six drama. Toni states: "Ben was in the bottom, do you think that humbles him?"

Yasmin replies: "I think that should humble him, even more so because I wasn't standing there as well."
Later in the evening, tensions reach new heights within Helena, Toni and Harrison's love triangle. Harrison pulls Helena for a chat to check in after her clash with Toni earlier in the day.
Helena defends her actions, saying: "She's making out like I broke girl code… It would be breaking girl code if it was Meg, Megan or Emily… but they're not my mates."

After being encouraged by Shakira, Harrison later speaks to Toni. Toni quickly fires at him, saying: "I was just about to go home and you thought you'd check on her, the same girl you just kissed in the Hideaway?"
Harrison says: "I'm not sorry for exploring a connection because I've told you so many times that we're open," before continuing: "I'm sorry for making you upset, do you accept my apology?"

Toni isn't having it, replying: "No, that's not how you apologise to people."
The next day Harrison tries again, pulling Toni for a chat on the hammock. 'Can you tell me how you're feeling without a sarcastic answer please?' he asks.

Toni lays it bare: 'Horrible, stupid, embarrassed…" As Harrison insists they agreed to stay open, Toni puts her foot down: "Open and disrespect are two different things… I'm not a triangle as b**h."
Elsewhere in the villa, Yasmin gets a text that promises chaos. It reads: "Islanders, pucker up as it's time to show your true feelings in a game of SNOG, MARRY, PIE! #LipsDontLie #HotMessExpress"
The girls are up first. Helena plants a kiss on Harry, cheekily saying: "It's been a while and I wanted to test the waters.

Then Shakira also snogs Harry, boldly stating: "I fancy the pants off him."
But when it's the boys' turn, things take a messy turn.
After almost walking past her, Harry unexpectedly snogs Helena, leaving Shakira stunned. "There's undeniable sexual chemistry," he says before going down on one knee for Shakira.

After she declines his proposal, Alima tells Harry: "I'm getting second hand embarrassment, get up."
Later that evening on the terrace, Toni and Yasmin comfort a distraught Shakira, who vents her frustration: "I can handle all of them being b****es when I've got a good thing with Harry… Now everything has gone to sh**."

Ben Shephard's life from Emmerdale link and university sweetheart to health woes

Ben Shephard has been a staple on TV screens for years, but away from the cameras the This Morning host has a very different life. Best known for his long-standing stint on Good Morning Britain, ITV favourite Ben Shephard bid farewell to the breakfast show at the start of 2024. Since waving goodbye, the 50-year-old has teamed up with Cat Deeley to become a new favourite on This Morning, hosting the crowd-pleaser at the week's outset while Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary take over on Fridays. ‌ Yet the TV personality continues to grace TV screens as the host of Tipping Point, another much-loved ITV quiz show which is now celebrating an impressive 13-year run since its debut on July 2, 2012. ‌ As we honour this significant milestone in Ben's career, let's delve into his life beyond the bright studio lights. Crippling health battle In recent years, Ben disclosed a deeply challenging health issue – a slipped disc from back in 2018 that necessitated pain relief medications, leaving him feeling "in a daze". In 2021 Ben was faced with another unfortunate event, where he sustained a severe knee injury during a football match, leading to a ruptured ACL, torn meniscus, and even a fractured leg, reports the Manchester Evening News. Now, the ITV star has embraced functional fitness within his exercise regime, revealing to Men's Health Magazine the crucial impact of his physical woes. He confessed: "My back is in a state and my knees are in a state. I'm a lot more conscious of my need to apply functional fitness in my training. ‌ "I don't want to be in a position where I can't play golf with my sons and my mates." He added poignantly: "I don't want to be unable to go skiing with the boys, which I love doing, or play football, I'm just so scared of doing my knee again." Soap link ‌ This Morning viewers were left gobsmacked when Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly, who portrays Ruby Miligan, revealed that she and presenter Ben shared a blast from the past. The pair both attended the University of Birmingham, with Beth studying English and Drama and Ben diving into Dance, Drama and Theatre Arts, despite being in different years. During a nostalgic exchange, the duo reflected on their university days as a youthful snap of Ben flashed across the screen. ‌ With a chuckle, Ben reminisced: "It was like one big, happy family," and Beth chimed in: "You were this interesting mix because you were big in the rugby thing... It must have been some sort of 70s thing." Ben responded: "We had all of these incredibly talented actors and I was in the dance department, and it was just a brilliant and extraordinary time." Young love ‌ University days weren't just about acting for Ben; it's where he met his future wife, Annie, who at the time led the Philosophy and Epistemology society and was studying Philosophy. The couple started dating in 1995 and after nine years together, walked down the aisle in 2004. They are now proud parents to two boys, Sam and Jack, who often feature in Ben's stories on This Morning. ‌ Reflecting on Annie's unwavering support, Ben once told the Lancashire Post in 2013: "My wife has to put up with a lot, in regards to hours and the nature of my job." Annie has carved out her own niche of success with her acclaimed blog The House Editor, dishing out interior design tips and inspiration to her many followers. In a previous heartfelt conversation on This Morning, Ben spoke candidly about a landmark moment for his family when his son Jack flew the coop to start university. During the emotional discussion on the programme, Ben shared: "It was all very emotional. This was him and Annie, he's in Bristol. She was better than I was to be fair, I was really really emotional about it." Tipping Point is available to watch on ITVX.

Netflix adds seasons of 'exceptional' period drama fans did not want to end

Netflix has added a period drama that has been compared to Bridgerton and Shameless All episodes of a simmering period drama often compared to a fusion of Bridgerton and Shameless will soon be dropped by Netflix. Originally crafted through collaboration between ITV and Hulu, Harlots first graced screens in 2017 and is slated for release on the streaming giant starting this Tuesday (July 1). The series draws its inspiration from Hallie Rubenhold's non-fiction work 'The Covent Garden Ladies'. ‌ Although Starzplay initially introduced it to UK viewers, the BBC snapped up the rights in 2020. Now, as the show settles into its new residence on Netflix, it stands ready to captivate a fresh audience. ‌ Harlots dives into the tale of Margaret Wells, who runs a brothel and ambitiously seeks to cater to the affluent crowd of Soho, London. However, her endeavours pitch her against Lydia, a fierce rival madam, and Wells' former boss. In 2019, The Guardian ran a critique hailing Harlots as 'the best show you're not watching'. These words were penned shortly before the curtain fell on its third and conclusive season, reports Surrey Live. Yet, the drama has garnered acclaims far and wide, leading to an impressive 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes. One review read: "This is a new style of historical drama, comparable perhaps to The Favourite but faster moving - and it's also differently inflected in being a show almost entirely created by women." Another critic raved: "Harlots is a jaw-dropping drama that won't give you easy answers or trite comforts, though it will take you on an emotional ride through the ups and downs of being a sex worker (of any status) in 18th century England." ‌ A third reviewer enthused: "Come for the strong female-driven storylines and stay for the truly memorable costumes." Viewers who have already devoured the show are equally effusive in their praise. One fan shared their thoughts online, saying: "Initially, you might think this is a risqué, late-night series, but I'm so glad I stumbled upon it. This is an exceptional period drama that explores themes of patriarchy, survival, sexual empowerment, social status, and class. With few likeable characters, the tension is palpable from start to finish." Another fan described the series as a mashup of 'Bridgerton meets Shameless', while someone else gushed: "AMAZING! it's so addictive, the story line is absolutely fabulous and you're always wondering what will happen next!". A fellow viewer confessed: "I'm finally getting around to watching this show and I'm obsessed. Can't believe there won't be a season 4. Brilliant character development, wonderful acting. I am on the edge of my seat to see what the characters will do next. I don't want it to end."
