Raheem Morris gives update on Kirk Cousins, Kyle Pitts as minicamp begins
All eyes are on quarterback Kirk Cousins and tight end Kyle Pitts as the Atlanta Falcons begin mandatory minicamp. Despite a flurry of trade speculation over the last few weeks, both players were in attendance for the first day of camp.
Head coach Raheem Morris gave some updates on Cousins, Pitts and right tackle Kaleb McGary during his Tuesday morning press conference.

"I got a chance to speak with everybody because I had my meeting," said Morris. "I got a chance to actually speak with Kirk Cousins, who was sitting right up in the front row. So I saw him when he came in, and obviously he wasn't someone that I've seen every day."
When pressed on Cousins' presence and role, Morris said the veteran quarterback avoids drama and he wasn't worried about the distraction.
"I don't worry about those things with Kirk because he's a man first, and like, he's gonna go out and do whatever it takes to help this football team as long as he's with us, and he's with us." explained Morris. "It's been really less dramatic of a situation than it has been from an outside-of-the-building standpoint."
Morris said everyone was in attendance except defensive lineman Morgan Fox, who was out with an excused absence.

When asked about Pitts and McGary, the Falcons head coach said the team was using "extreme caution" dealing with both players.
"Hopefully, he's gonna be fine and look forward to him getting back when we come back for training camp and get going," Morris said about Pitts' injury. He went on to discuss the fifth-year tight end's role in the offense
"He's developed his role and become more of a complete tight end," said Morris. "Really pleased on what he can do when he gets back."
Morris said he still thinks Pitts is super talented, and that part of the reason for his lack of elite production is the team's abundance of weapons, including Drake London and Bijan Robinson -- both of whom topped 1,000 yards last season.

Mathys Tel joins Tottenham permanently
After rumors began surfacing Saturday evening, Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel's permanent move to Tottenham was confirmed Sunday morning. In a recent interview, FCB board-member-for-sport Max Eberl noted that the Bundesliga Champions wished to conclude the deal as promptly as possible. Everything is now sewn up. Italy appoint Gennaro Gattuso as new manager
The Italy National Team have replaced Luciano Spalletti with Gennaro Gattuso as the new manager. An update from Fabrizio Romano confirmed the managerial agreement between Gennaro Gattuso and the Italian National Team representatives. The former World Cup champion with the Azzurri is set to be appointed at the helm of the side to lead them at the next biggest tournament in football. Advertisement Spalletti became certain of his departure during the World Cup qualifiers, and he was practically out of the team when Italy played against Moldova. A statement by Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon verified the reports as he said, 'Gattuso has become the new Italy coach, we made the best possible decision.' Gattuso was a key player of the 2006 Italy National Team, which won the World Cup in Germany under manager Marcello Lippi. He formed an impeccable partnership with Andrea Pirlo in the midfield, and it was crucial to earn the Azzurri their fourth star on their crest. Trambak Bhattacherjee | GIFN

How the Brooklyn Nets can help the Boston Celtics this NBA offseason
Can the Brooklyn Nets help the Boston Celtics this NBA offseason? As the team in the league with the largest payroll that is also over the second apron long enough to incur the worst penalties mandated by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), the Celtics are staring at being hit with a potentially historic payroll and tax bill on top of the punitive team building penalties the CBA will dole out on Boston. Enter the Nets, who are the only team in the Association that is going to have the sort of cap space the Celtics would need to absorb the kind of salary necessary in single-team deals to get Boston out of being a second (and perhaps even first) apron ball club. There are other, more complex ways the Celtics could get cheaper -- and others that would take more time -- but if the Celtics want to get cheaper in a hurry, all roads lead to Brooklyn. Advertisement The cohost of the CLNS Media "Garden Report" podcast, Bobby Manning, sat down with the New York Post's Brian Lewis on a recent episode of the show to talk over the potentiality for a Nets-Celtics cap cleansing team up. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say.
