NEXT Weather Alert on Sunday for heavy rain and a few storms throughout the Philadelphia region into Presidents Day
The same storm system that brought snow and sleet to the area Saturday will bring a surge of warmth, but also more rain to the area as we head through Sunday.
When you wake up Sunday morning there will be a lull in the rain and temperatures will be either side of 40 degrees.
Our winds will increase from the south and temperatures will climb quickly ahead of the storm's approaching cold front topping out in the 50s and 60s.
Rain will once again pick up in the early afternoon with a chance of thunderstorms and periods of heavy rain. This band of heavier rain and possible thunderstorms will be out ahead of a cold front that will sweep across the area through Sunday evening. Some localized flooding will be possible, but mainly in poorly drained urban areas. Widespread flooding is not expected.
Strong winds will develop behind the storm with gusts between 40-60 mph through the day Sunday and continue into Monday as well as colder air rushes in from the northwest. There is a High Wind Warning in place Sunday and Monday for the entire region. The high winds could bring down trees, tree branches, and powerlines which will potentially cause some power outages across the region. There will likely be delays at PHL and possible disruptions of trains as a result of these gusty winds.
Presidents Day on Monday will be partly sunny and windy and cold. Highs will be 20 degrees colder than Sunday in the mid-30s. As the winds continue to howl it'll feel even colder with feels-like temperatures in the teens to low 20s for most of the day.
The week continues to be cold with yet another winter storm arriving Wednesday night and Thursday.
This could possibly be a significant snowmaker for our area.

The NEXT Weather Team is tracking another hot and humid day across South Florida with the potential for a few scattered afternoon storms to end the workweek. Daily rain chances linger through at least the middle of next week as afternoon highs range from the upper 80s to the lower 90s.

Muggy start for Wednesday with isolated showers as South Florida sees "feels-like" temperatures close to 100
The NEXT Weather Team is once again forecasting a muggy morning with isolated showers moving in for the East Coast. NEXT Weather Hourly Forecast CBS News Miami These showers will be hit-or-miss through the morning as temperatures begin in the lower 80s. Isolated storms will develop later in the afternoon but will remain mostly west of our metro areas. Summer-like heat continues with "feels-like" temperatures around 100 degrees for all of South Florida in the back half of the day. Morning lows are around 80 and afternoon highs are around 90, which continue through the weekend. South Florida will wash, rinse and repeat for Thursday and Friday with isolated to scattered morning showers. Rain chances will be on the rise beginning on Saturday and trend even higher for the beginning of next week as a wet weather pattern settles into South Florida. Out on the water, we are tracking no alerts for the Atlantic and Florida Keys, where a light to moderate chop will be possible.

Strong storms and damaging winds possible in parts of Miami-Dade, Broward in the afternoon
South Florida is bracing for potentially strong storms this afternoon and evening, including heavy rainfall and localized flooding in some areas. The NEXT Weather Team had issued NEXT Weather Alert Day for Friday due to the potential for strong to severe afternoon storms. NEXT Weather meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez says the most active period for stormy weather will be from noon through 8 p.m. The main concern will be storms which could contain damaging wind, hail, and isolated heavy downpours. The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of Miami-Dade and Broward at a marginal risk for isolated strong storms on Friday. The heating of the day will help fuel those storms. Friday afternoon highs will be around 90 degrees. While the risk level is marginal, the lowest on the SPC's five-tier scale, residents are urged to stay weather-aware, especially during peak storm times. Outdoor plans and commutes could be impacted by sudden downpours or localized severe conditions. The heat continues through Memorial Day Weekend with afternoon highs near 90 degrees and "feels like" temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. The chance of rain is 30% for scattered showers.
