Egypt celebrates International Jazz Day with concert on Tuesday

Egypt's jazz artists will be celebrating the International Jazz Day with an interactive public concert at a theater in Sheikh Zayed City on Tuesday evening.
The event brings together more than 50 jazz stars and icons in Egypt, including Grammy Award-winning international musician Fathy Salama, singers Noha Fikry and Rana Hagag, Australian singer Michelle Rounds, and artist Amr Salah, founder of the Cairo International Jazz Festival.
Some of Egypt's most prominent jazz musicians will be participating in the concert, including Samer George, Sherif Mustafa, Karim Hossam, Shady al-Qaser, André Segon, Faisal Fouad, Rashad Fahim, and Ayman Sedky, in addition to the participation of Sudanese artist Tariq al-Hawi.
The concert is organized by The Jazz Society of Egypt, the largest gathering of jazz stars and enthusiasts in Egypt.
Founded in 2009, the Society aims to expand the base of jazz fans in Egypt, encourage young composers to expand their artistic output, present their experiences at international festivals, and organize educational events and workshops for musicians.

International Jazz Day is an international celebration established by UNESCO in 2011 under the leadership of renowned American musician Herbie Hancock to celebrate jazz culture.
It is celebrated worldwide through diverse musical and cultural events that aim to promote the values ​​of the arts, peaceful coexistence between communities, and the principles of freedom, equality, and creativity.
