Across the entirelineup, Apple is rumored to be doubling the front-facing camera resolution, upgrading it from the current 12 MP to a sharper 24 MP sensor. What does that mean for you? Expect much clearer, more detailed selfies that capture every little detail, plus video calls that look noticeably crisper and more vibrant. Apple could finally bring 8K video recording to its Pro models for the first time. ThePro and Pro Max should get 12 GB of RAM – a first for iPhones. This boost should help Apple Intelligence run smoother and multitasking feel faster. For context, all iPhone 16 models max out at 8 GB.As usual, thePro will pack Apple's newest chipset. In this case, that should be the A19 Pro, built on TSMC's third-gen 3nm process. This liquid cooling system is designed to stop the phone from overheating and throttling performance, which is key as AI and powerful chips push the limits.

Exclusive: Here's our first look at NxtQuantum's AI+ Nova 2 5G smartphone
Last week, we learned that AI+, a smartphone brand part of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies led by Madhav Sheth, will launch its first smartphone by the end of June. And yesterday, the brand announced that it would launch its Nova series 5G smartphones in India on June 25 without revealing the names or specs of the phones. Well, we know one of the smartphones will be called Nova 2 5G, and we've got an exclusive image of the phone to share with you. The picture shows the back of the AI+ Nova 2 5G, having a glossy panel with a squircle-shaped camera island in the top-left corner. The island houses an LED flash and two cameras. There's also text on the right side of the camera module that reads "Matrix AI Camera," suggesting that the AI+ Nova 2 5G will come with some AI-powered camera features. A sticker on the back cover of the AI+ Nova 2 5G reveals dual-SIM support, with the phone having 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage onboard. However, there could be more memory options available that are currently unknown. That's all the image of the AI+ Nova 2 5G reveals. AI+ said the Nova series smartphones launching on June 25 will be "affordable AI-powered 5G smartphones," starting at INR5,000. The lineup will include "three distinct models" priced between INR5,000 and INR8,000, promising to "redefine the smartphone experience for Indian consumers, offering high-speed 5G connectivity, powerful AI features, and sustainable design." Speaking of sustainability, the Nova series smartphones are manufactured using refurbished parts to reduce e-waste. And, as a part of the brand's commitment to the Indian government's "Make in India" initiative, the smartphones will be assembled locally by Ismartu. The brand previously confirmed that AI+ smartphones will run NxtQuantum OS, which, it says, "has been uniquely designed by Indian engineers, offering a user-friendly interface optimized for the Indian market." The AI+ Nova series smartphones go on sale in India starting June 25 through offline retail partners and leading online platforms, including Flipkart. You can expect to hear more about them in the coming days.

T-Mobile kills the SIM block feature, making employees very happy
In 2022, when SIM swap attacks were rampant, T-Mobile disabled self-service SIM swap and rolled out a SIM block service to beef up account security. The SIM block feature has now been retired. T-Mobile is texting customers who enabled the SIM block feature that it's no longer available. This feature was announced to combat SIM swap, a hijacking tactic used by criminals to switch a customer's number to a SIM card they own. This allows criminals to view incoming communication, including two-factor authentication (2FA) verification checks and One-Time Password (OTP) sent to verify a user's identity and grant access to an account or service. The SIM block feature allowed customers to put blocks on line and account levels to prevent their number from being transferred to another SIM card. T-Mobile has shored up security since then to fight SIM swaps and a report in Apri said that self-service SIM swaps may return soon. While we wait for that to happen, T-Mobile has sunsetted the SIM block feature. Customers will still be protected by the SIM Protection feature, which the company claims offers better security. SIM protection is a free feature designed to prevent unauthorized SIM swaps. Customers can enable and disable it in the T-Life app and on the company's website. The feature must be toggled off before switching to a new SIM card or moving the eSIM to a new device.
