ROME (AP) — Igor Tudor was hired in March to make sure that Juventus qualified for the Champions League.
He fulfilled the goal — albeit barely — when the Bianconeri won 3-2 at Venezia in the final round of Serie A on Sunday to finish fourth.

Juventus finished one point ahead of Roma, which won 2-0 at Torino to secure a Europa League spot.
Venezia, which was relegated along with Empoli, surprised Juventus with an early goal from Daniel Fila in the second minute.
Kenan Yildiz and Randal Kolo Muani struck back to put Juventus in control after 31 minutes.
Ridgeciano Haps equalized after the break for Venezia before Manuel Locatelli restored Juve's lead with a penalty.
Tudor replaced the fired Thiago Motta and was given a contract through the end of the season. There was speculation that his contract included an automatic renewal in case of Champions League qualification but Juventus now appears interested in rehiring Antonio Conte, who just led Napoli to the title.

Ranieri's finale
Leandro Paredes converted a first-half penalty and Alexis Saelemaekers headed in after the break for Roma in the final match of Claudio Ranieri's coaching career.
Roma was 12th when Ranieri was hired in November and the Giallorossi lost just once during the second half of the season.
Fiorentina in Conference League
Fiorentina leapfrogged Lazio into sixth to take the Conference League spot with a 3-2 win at 10-man Udinese.
Moise Kean scored the decisive goal for Fiorentina with a deflected shot.
Lazio lost 1-0 at home to 10-man Lecce, which got a first-half goal from Lassana Coulibaly, and was left out of Europe.

Maldini brace
Daniel Maldini scored two goals in a minute for Atalanta in a 3-2 loss to Parma.
First, Maldini slid in to redirect a cross then he scored with a long-range effort.
Substitute Jacob Ondrejka scored two late goals for Parma to make sure his team avoided relegation.
Empoli lost 2-1 to Hellas Verona.

Robertson hails ‘king' McTominay for proving Manchester United wrong
Andy Robertson believes his Scotland teammate Scott McTominay has revelled in demonstrating the error of Manchester United's ways by flourishing at Napoli. McTominay's dream debut season in Naples included a Serie A title and being named the league's most valuable player. United have been widely castigated for letting the 28-year-old leave his boyhood club for £25m last summer. The more serious aspect is the extent to which McTominay has turned heads at a new club. 'I think he went over there with a point to prove,' said the Liverpool full-back. 'I think he wanted to prove Man United wrong and prove people in the Premier League wrong. He has gone over there and done that pretty successfully. That's credit to him, credit to his attitude and his determination to be the best version of himself. Now he is a king over there. 'At Man United he probably lacked getting that run of games consistently, he was in and out and things like that. He probably didn't get the respect he deserves. 'The two boys going to Napoli, it's just like a dream, to make that decision to go abroad and to end up winning Serie A against a really top Inter team. I think the last month of the season, everybody in Scotland became a Napoli fan, we were all so desperate for them to win the title. And they did. Milan target Adrien Rabiot as they look to continue bolstering midfield
Milan are expected to close the signing of Luka Modric sooner rather than later but that will not be the end of their midfield reinforcement. Their next target as per is going to be Adrien Rabiot from Marseille. The Frenchman has already worked with new Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri previously at Juventus and the manager is a fan of the player and has a good relationship with him. Rabiot left Juventus on a free deal last summer but after an impressive first season in France, he could already be back to Italy. Milan are set to make a healthy profit on Tijjani Reijnders and it is being reported that a mere €10.5m would be enough to get Roberto De Zerbi's side to part with the midfielder. This is due to his high wages, which could rise up to around €6m a year due to the club's Champions League qualification. Rabiot does fulfill Milan's need for a box-to-box midfielder quite well, having scored 9 times and assisted 4 more in 29 league games for Marseille.
