Pinpoint Weather Alert: Heat into the 90s and cold water shock warning
High pressure in control of our weather over the next few days will mean much warmer weather Sunday and Monday. Skies will be mostly clear overnight, with mild lows only dropping into the mid and upper 50s.
Heat Advisories have been issued for most of the Western Washington lowlands Sunday and Monday (except coast and northern islands) for high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s with some low 90s.
The hottest locations will be in Cascade valleys and the southwest interior where highs will be in the lower 90s.
Temperatures will be almost as warm on Monday. For the coast and the islands, we'll have highs in the 70s to lower 80s.
This heat will cause some stress for susceptible people without air conditioning or adequate cooling. Also, hot pavement temperatures could injure pets' paws!
East of the Cascades, highs will be in the 90s to low 100s Sunday and Monday with the heat east of the crest continuing into Tuesday.
Cold water shock is a serious risk in these early heat waves, with lake water temperatures in the upper 50s to mid 60s with colder water in rivers, the Salish Sea, Puget Sound, and Pacific beaches.
Make sure everyone has a lifejacket, as falling in the cold water could cause immediate difficulty.
Temperatures will trend cooler Tuesday and continue to decrease toward Father's Day weekend when we'll see high temperatures mostly in the 60s, with increasing morning low cloudiness.

Fog to Start, Few Showers Possible on Monday In Maryland
Visibility is down areawide to start the day Monday. Fog reduced visibility to about a quarter mile at points during the morning. Once fog lifts, Monday doesn't look too bad. Much of the day looks to be on the drier side. A few spot showers move through this afternoon. Later today, we have a better chance to see a couple of storms but the greatest risk for that will be farther to the west. Any storms could produce heavy rainfall tonight. A few more showers pop up tonight into Tuesday morning. Tuesday doesn't look like a washout, however. Once again it'll be another chance of a spot shower or two. The middle of the week brings the beginning of a calm stretch of weather that lasts a couple of days. Wednesday also brings milder temperatures - a return to the mid and possibly upper 80s. Thursday some locations will max out in the low 90s. The end of the week brings another day in the 80s and maybe a few low 90s. The next best chance for rain holds off until maybe Friday night. Father's Day Weekend looks like it could be a wet one. The First Alert Weather team will be keeping you updated throughout the week.

This Father's Day, take Dad on a trip that features the best winery, brewery, and distillery experiences, all just a short drive or flight away. These are distinctive local experiences where tastings, tours, classes, and atmosphere go beyond the traditional and where Dad is sure to feel loved. Toast to Father's Day at Berryessa Gap's winery located in Winters, California. You only live once, so it's fitting to take dad to Yolo, California, where he'll see every step of the wine process, from root stock to pour. Berryessa Gap Vineyards began as a root stock company and grew into an award-winning winery.
