Defiant Iran plans new uranium site after UN watchdog issues first rebuke in 20 years
Published June 12th, 2025 - 09:43 GMT The Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran jointly condemned the IAEA decision, calling it 'political' and 'a clear reflection of bias.' They further claimed that the move exposes the agency's 'true nature.'
ALBAWABA- Iran has launched a new uranium enrichment facility in direct response to a rare rebuke from the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which declared Tehran in non-compliance with its nuclear safeguards obligations for the first time in two decades.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran jointly condemned the IAEA decision, calling it 'political' and 'a clear reflection of bias.' They further claimed that the move exposes the agency's 'true nature.'
The E3 have had SEVEN YEARS to implement their JCPOA commitments. They have utterly failed, either by design or ineptitude.
Instead of displaying remorse or a desire to facilitate diplomacy, the E3 is today promoting confrontation through the absurd demand that Iran must be… — Seyed Abbas Araghchi (@araghchi) June 11, 2025
In a strongly worded statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said it 'rejects the fabricated and baseless allegations' regarding violations of the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement, insisting that Iran remains committed to peaceful nuclear development.
It blamed IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi personally for 'undermining the agency's credibility' through what it described as 'provocative' remarks and a 'biased' report.
Iran also announced that it had informed the IAEA about activating a new uranium enrichment center, which it says is 'safe and operational.' It reiterated its right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy.
A spokesperson for Iran's Atomic Energy Organization warned Western nations that 'their approach will not yield results,' signaling a more confrontational stance in the future.
Meanwhile, Israel called for international action in response to Iran's defiance. The Israeli Foreign Ministry accused Tehran of 'repeatedly obstructing IAEA inspections' and urged the global community to act decisively to prevent Iran from advancing a nuclear weapons capability.

Trump warns Iran of intensified strikes, urges immediate nuclear deal
ALBAWABA - Former US President Donald Trump, in his first public reaction to Israel's recent airstrikes on Iran, sent a strong message to Tehran's leaders, asking them to complete a nuclear deal before they face what he called "even more brutal" attacks. Trump said the current attack took Iranian authorities by surprise in a post on his website, Truth Social, on Friday morning. He added, "They didn't know what was coming—they're all dead now, and it's going to get worse." Although he stressed that the damage already seen might much increase, he maintained that there is still time to stop further deaths. Trump warned that the fall of what he dubbed "the former Persian Empire" would occur if Iran did not immediately accept a nuclear agreement. He underscored that Israel not only has such cutting-edge weapons but also understands how to use them effectively, and that more are on the way. He again emphasized the supremacy of U.S. military forces. According to reports, negotiations for a new nuclear deal have accelerated in recent weeks, but Tehran's insistence on continuing its uranium enrichment program is still a stumbling block. Trump said that despite harsh warnings from U.S. leadership, Iran had been given several opportunities to make a deal but had consistently failed to do so. Trump just threw every attempt by his Admin to make it look like Israel was "acting alone" and that the US wasn't involved out the window... He's making it clear that the US is directly involved in this war on Iran, and will continue to be.

Inside Iran: How Israel secretly built drone bases to launch its biggest strike
Published June 13th, 2025 - 11:05 GMT ALBAWABA - High-level Israeli security officials said that even before the most recent round of assaults, Israeli spy agency Mossad had set up a secret drone operations station within Iranian territory. The site was crucial to Israel's larger plan to destroy important Iranian military facilities, and it was allegedly utilized to fire kamikaze drones during the attack. Mossad operatives surreptitiously invaded Iran and placed precision-guided missiles close to surface-to-air missile systems, according to Israeli media. Together with Israeli attacks, these weapons were triggered, seriously impairing Iranian air defenses and destroying important assets, such as a missile station at the Esfajard military facility close to Tehran. According to a senior Israeli official, the well-planned operation was one of Israel's most advanced incursions into Iranian territory, and it was successful in weakening Iran's ability to retaliate. 🇮🇱 "MOSSAD SET UP DRONE BASE IN IRAN" Mossad agents set up a drone base on Iranian soil near Tehran. The drones were activated overnight, striking surface-to-surface missile launchers aimed at Israel.@N12News @TimesofIsrael — WORLD AT WAR (@World_At_War_6) June 13, 2025 Jordan shoots down incoming missiles Jordan's military has acknowledged that it has intercepted many Iranian drones and missiles that were traveling to Israel via its airspace. As the rockets were destroyed by Jordanian fighter planes and air defense systems, sirens rang across Amman. In light of concerns that debris may fall on inhabited regions, authorities emphasized that the interception was required to safeguard civilian areas. A top Jordanian military officer was described by state media as reaffirming the military's commitment to protecting national sovereignty and being ready to resist any threats by air, sea, or land at all times. Israel was also reportedly monitoring Iranian drones over Jordanian and Syrian airspace. Israel has not issued an official statement, but according to many media sources, as part of its defensive stance, its air force was actively interacting with hostile UAVs. Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, responded to Israel's military escalation by issuing a severe warning. He said in a statement that the Zionist state had planned a deadly deed for which it would "undoubtedly pay the price" and that Israel would get "severe punishment." Although he acknowledged that the Israeli bombings had killed a number of Iranian scientists and military officials, he gave the assurance that successors had already taken over. © 2000 - 2025 Al Bawaba (

Khamenei issues rare Hebrew statement, threatens fierce revenge
ALBAWABA - Following Israeli airstrikes that murdered key Iranian military commanders early Friday, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent a harsh warning to Israel in Hebrew on the social networking site X. "The Zionist regime must expect severe punishment," Khamenei said in his statement, adding that "the strong hand of the Islamic Republic's military power will not let this go unpunished." Israel was accused of planning its own "bitter fate and a future filled with suffering," according to him. The remarks were made only hours after Israel started Operation "Rising Lion," a massive aircraft attack on Iranian sites purportedly intended to neutralize Iran's nuclear threat. Three senior Iranian military and security officers were killed in the attacks, according to the Israeli military. The first attack "achieved several important objectives," according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who praised the operation as a success. — Hebrew (@Khamenei_Heb) June 13, 2025 Later, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that Major General Hossein Salami, its commander-in-chief, and a number of other top commanders had died. Retaliation for the horrific strike was promised by the IRGC, which pledged a "decisive response." As tensions in the area rise in anticipation of a wider battle, the attack represents a major escalation in the current struggle between Israel and Iran.
