Greg is at York and will be with you shortly for today's live blog on the opening day of this year's Dante meeting. Tomorrow features the Dante Stakes itself, usually a very key Derby trial and this morning we had the Jockey Club announcement that next month's Epsom Classic on 7 June will be run in honour of the late Aga Khan IV.
A prolific breeder and owner, the famous racehorse owner came from a line of great racing enthusiasts and was successful in the Derby on five occasions, witnessing Shergar win the race by a record 10 lengths in 1981, followed by victories for Shahrastani (1986), Kahyasi (1988), Sinndar (2000) and Harzand (2016). The Aga Khan's daughter, Princess Zahra, said: 'My family and I are incredibly grateful to Epsom and the Jockey Clubfor running the race in honour of my father.
'The Derby is an iconic event that he deeply loved and winning it for the first time with Shergar brought him immense pride and joy. It gave him the sense that the work his father and grandfather had accomplished with the breeding operation was being carried forward.
'He eventually matched the record of my great-grandfather when Harzand secured his fifth Derby victory – a wonderful achievement.' Share

Tottenham sack Robert Vilahamn after poor WSL season as summer of change continues
Tottenham have sacked women's first team head coach Robert Vilahamn after two years in charge. Vilahamn led the club to an FA Cup final in his first season at the club alongside a sixth place finish but Tottenham have decided to part ways with the 42-year-old after Spurs finished second-bottom in the Women's Super League this campaign. The Swedish coach joined in 2023 and was handed a three-year contract extension last July but only relegated Crystal Palace conceded more goals than Vilahamn's side in a disappointing season. Tottenham managing director Andy Rogers said: 'There have been some special moments during Robert's tenure, including reaching the FA Cup final for the first time. 'However, results and performances this season have not been to the level we would expect and now is the right time to make a change. 'We should like to thank Robert for his professionalism and efforts over the past two seasons, and we wish him well for the future.' The decision leaves Spurs seeking new managers for both their men's and women's teams after Ange Postecoglou was sacked on Friday. Thomas Frank is the favourite to succeed the Australian, who led the club to Europa League triumph to end their long wait for a trophy. Key Daniel Levy lieutenant Donna-Maria Cullen has also departed in a summer of change in north London.

Snoop Dogg says he hopes to open burger van at Celtic Park
Snoop Dogg has told of his hopes to open a burger van at Celtic Park – and to serve fans himself. The West Coast rapper has previously spoken of investing in the Glasgow football club, similar to Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds's involvement with Wrexham FC. Advertisement Snoop Dogg has already published a cookbook and claims to have spoken to chef Gordon Ramsay about a possible venture in Glasgow together – but he has now revealed he wants to set up a fast-food van at Celtic's stadium in the city's east end. He has described Celtic supporters as 'special' and the best fans in European football, and said he identifies strongly with the club's mascot Hoopy the Hound – describing it in a previous interview as a 'match made in heaven'. The keen sports fan worked as a correspondent for NBC at the Paris Olympics last year, has launched two youth football leagues, and has been a vocal advocate for pay equality for female athletes. Snoop Dogg made several appearances at the Paris Olympics last year (John Walton/PA) He told the Sunday Mail that Celtic fans would support the burger van and that it would become a foodie 'Paradise' – the nickname give to Celtic Park. The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation. The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple-cured bacon. 'The Celtic fans are gonna love it, and to make sure they are just right, Snoop is going to be serving them himself.'
