James Milner has signed a new one-year deal with Albion.
And Fabian Hurzeler is delighted he will still be around.
The highly experienced midfielder or full-back made a fleeting return to the pitch near the end of the season finale at Tottenham after months battling injury.

But Hurzeler had always made it clear he wanted to keep him on board.
His deal was due to expire at the end of this month.

Hurzeler said: 'I'm really pleased we will have James with us again this season.
'Last season he wasn't able to help the team on the pitch as much as he would have liked, but around the squad his experience is invaluable, especially for the younger players.
"He's a great guy to have in our environment, who is always there for me and the team. I'm looking forward to working with him again.'

Speaking at Tottenham, and looking forward to the 2025-26 campaign, Milner said: "You look at the season we have. We have good players and good results but there have been times when we've dropped points and shouldn't have done. You need a bit experience.
"You look at the players have come in, the likes of Mats Wieffer and Gruda, difficult coming to a new team and country but look how good they've been in last few weeks.
"It takes time. I'm excited for next year for sure. Hopefully I can be a part of it. You look at the potential that's there with another year under the belt.
"Carlos Baleba is another player with more games under his belt and maturity.

"Hopefully with myself involved and the senior guys can keep pushing these guys.
The more games, the game understanding will improve.
"The manager has done a fantastic job but another season under his belt I think it is exciting for next season."
Milner has made 638 Premier League appearances in a career which began at Leeds United in 2001 and has included successful spells with Manchester City, Aston Villa and Liverpool.
Only Gareth Barry (653) has played more games in Premier League history.

Juventus Told to Pursue Joshua Zirkzee as Replacement for Man Utd, PSG Target

AC Milan are emerging as a serious contender in the search for a new striker this summer, joining Manchester United and PSG in the race. PSG are reportedly open to parting ways with Randal Kolo Muani, and there's even talk that Gonçalo Ramos could be on the move as well. One forward high on PSG's list is Juventus' Dušan Vlahović. According to CaughtOffside, the club began monitoring the Serbian international earlier this year, and with his transfer fee now more reasonable, a summer deal is becoming more likely. Advertisement Arsenal and Manchester United are also keeping an eye on Vlahović, which could spark a bidding war. With just one year left on his contract, Juventus may be willing to negotiate a lower fee rather than risk losing him for free in 2026. Juventus urged to secure this player to replace Manchester United, PSG targetFormer England manager Fabio Capello has encouraged Juventus to sign Joshua Zirkzee as a replacement for Vlahović, urging the club to move for the struggling Manchester United forward. 'Now, Dusan—what's next? I mention departures because it seems Vlahović and Juventus are heading for a split,' Capello said (h/t The Mirror). Advertisement 'In that case, Juve would need a new striker, especially with Kolo Muani's future uncertain (he's still owned by PSG). Who would I pick as the new number nine for the Bianconeri? I'd go straight for Joshua Zirkzee, who showed real class in Serie A. 'Though he's struggled at Manchester United, now might be the right time to bring the Dutchman back to Italy. Zirkzee would also cost less than the frequently linked Viktor Gyökeres. 'The Swede was a goal machine at Sporting, but at 27, he's never faced a top-tier league like ours. In short, I believe the safer bet is the former Bologna man.' GIVE ME SPORT reported this week that Manchester United could be offered the chance to sign Vlahović, who is keen on a move to England for the first time in his career. The striker has reportedly accepted that he is not part of Juventus' long-term plans and recognizes the need for a fresh start to secure consistent playing time. The report also claims that Manchester United are firmly on Vlahović's radar. After tallying 20 goal contributions across all competitions during the 2024-25 season, he is said to be confident in his ability to adapt to the demands of the Premier League.

Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen interested in signing La Liga defender

Aston Villa have regularly looked at the La Liga market since Unai Emery's arrival, and they will do so again this summer in their efforts to improve their defensive options ahead of the 2025-26 season kicking off in August. Aston Villa sporting director is also very familiar with the La Liga market, having worked at Sevilla for many years prior to making the move to Villa Park. And he is keen to bring a player from his former club to the Premier League side. Aston Villa reignite interest in Sevilla defender Loic Bade As reported by MD, Aston Villa are interested in signing Loic Bade this summer, following his impressive France debut during the UEFA Nations League earlier this month. Image via ABC / EP Advertisement Bade has already attracted interest from Aston Villa, but he rejected the opportunity to move during the winter transfer window. But now that the season is over, he could be more willing to join the Villains, who will be playing in the Europa League next season, a competition that he has already won with Sevilla back in 2023. Bayer Leverkusen also keen on making a move for Bade As well as Aston Villa, the report also notes that Bayer Leverkusen want to sign Bade as a replacement for Jonathan Tah, the former Barcelona and Real Madrid target that recently signed for Bayern Munich. Sevilla are expected to consider Bade's sale, as they aim to raise funds for their own transfer business – as well as ease their well-documented financial problems. They reportedly turned down an offer of €20m in January, but they could well look to sell if a proposal in the same region were to arrive in the coming weeks. Bade has been an excellent player for Sevilla over the last 2.5 years, but his departure this summer seems inevitable. And when he does go, he is sure to leave with the best wishes of those at Los Nervionenses.

Thomas Frank Has Risked His Reputation On Tottenham Hotspur Move

(Photo by Nick Potts/PA Images via Getty Images) Tottenham Hotspur has a new manager. Less than a month after Ange Postecoglou led the North London club to Europa League glory in Bilbao, Thomas Frank is now in place as the Australian's replacement. Lured from Brentford, the Danish coach will be expected to build on the foundations left behind by his predecessor. Frank has risked his reputation on the move to North London. The 51-year-old is widely considered one of the most astute tacticians in the Premier League and has been the figurehead of one of the smartest, shrewdest clubs anywhere in European soccer for the last seven years. Spurs, however, does not have the same reputation. Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou with the UEFA Europa League trophy on the pitch after the ... (Photo by John Walton/PA Images via Getty Images) Instead, Tottenham has a reputation for being a messy club with a scattergun approach to building its squad. Frank joins Spurs at a pivotal moment in its recent history. The North London outfit will be in the Champions League next season, but lack a team capable of competing at such a high level. It will be on Frank and his coaching staff to change this. Tactically, Frank will likely ask his Tottenham team to play in quick transition and on the break. Spurs have some players who will be comfortable with this approach. Other players, however, might struggle to play at such speed, particularly in central midfield where Tottenham requires reinforcements before the start of next season. Last season was a difficult one to decipher. While Spurs ended its long 17-year wait for a trophy by winning the Europa League, it also finished 17th in the Premier League table. The only way is up because if Tottenham is to sink any lower domestically, it will suffer relegation to the Championship next season. Tottenham needs greater attacking talent in particular to compete with the best teams in the Premier League with the Dane also charged with steadying the team in a defensive sense. There's a lot to suggest Frank will be successful at Tottenham Hotspur. He has proved his ability at the top level of the Premier League and is someone who knows how to maximise talent. The Danish coach's tactical approach might also be a good fit for Spurs. And yet the recent history of Spurs shows that nothing is ever guaranteed, certainly not success.
