Suryavanshi, 14, in India U19 squad for England tour
Fourteen-year-old batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named in India's Under-19s squad for this summer's multi-format tour of England. The teenager hit the headlines in April when he became the youngest player to score a century in a men's T20, smashing 101 runs from 38 balls as Rajasthan Royals beat Gujarat Titans by eight wickets. His knock, which included seven fours and 11 sixes, was the second fastest hundred in the Indian Premier League - and fastest by an Indian player - coming from 35 balls. In total, Suryavanshi has scored 252 runs at a strike rate of 206.55 in seven appearances for the Royals and previously hit a 58-ball hundred in a youth Test against Australia.
Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai batter Ayush Mhatre, 17, who recently smashed a rapid IPL half-century of his own, will captain the side. The series, which will begin in Hove on 27 June, includes five youth ODIs and two multi-day matches in Beckenham and Chelmsford, respectively. India squad: Ayush Mhatre (capt), Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Vihaan Malhotra, Maulyarajsinh Chavda, Rahul Kumar, Abhigyan Kundu, Harvansh Pangalia, RS Ambrish, Kanishk Chouhan, Khilan Patel, Henil Patel, Yudhajit Guha, Pranav Raghavendra, Mohamed Enaan, Aditya Rana, Anmoljeet Singh.

Liverpool ready to offer winger to Crystal Palace in swap for £50m-rated Marc Guehi as transfer spree goes on
LIVERPOOL are ready to throw flying Scot Ben Doak into a swap deal for England star Marc Guehi. The Kop's transfer team are focusing on centre-half Guehi, 24, as their next target but Palace want around £50million for him. 3 3 Doak, 19, is fancied by Palace and rated in the £25m class despite his limited appearances outside a loan spell at Middlesbrough. He played 24 times in the Championship last term, scoring three times and assisting seven goals. Liverpool would offer the winger and cash to snap up Guehi but that will take a great deal of negotiating. Palace supremo Steve Parish is renowned for standing firm on valuations. Everton are keen on Doak but not at that price. Meanwhile, Guehi is letting his deal run down but has been relatively low-paid at Selhurst Park for some time — money is not his driving force. His deal is set to expire at the end of the 2025/26 campaign. Liverpool are not the only club interested in his services with Newcastle and Manchester United also keen. Arne Slot 's side are looking to add another centre-back to the squad with Jarell Quansah expected to leave. The Under-21 Euros winner with England is set to sign for Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen. Quansah, 22, will have a medical with Erik ten Hag 's side on Monday ahead of a £30m switch, according to Fabrizio Romano. Liverpool have been active in the transfer market as they look to strengthen ahead of the Premier League title defence. The likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Freddie Woodman have been welcomed through the doors at Anfield. 3

Lee Carsley wants Under-21s to complete Euros hat-trick after defending title
Lee Carsley has challenged England's Under-21s to complete a hat-trick of European Championship titles after defending their crown with a 3-2 victory over Germany in Bratislava on Saturday night. Jonathan Rowe scored the winner in extra time, after Harvey Elliott and Omari Hutchinson had given England a 2-0 first-half lead. Germany were twice denied by the woodwork as England held on. Afterwards, Carsley praised his players' achievement and spoke of his desire to go for three in a row. Carsley signed a contract extension through to the 2027 European Under-21 Championship earlier this month. "I'm proud of the players, the commitment they've shown over the last 28 days and all the instruction we've tried to put into them so quickly, they've taken it on board," he told Channel 4 post-match. "They've got so much belief, we spoke about it when we were at St George's that this squad believe that they can win and that's the kind of players we need. "I'm so proud of them, so happy for them. To be European champions for the second time is a great achievement and I suppose the challenge now is to do it again in two years. "Any setback we've had, the players have just got together. I think I said at the start of the tournament, the longer we stay in, the better we play. "I didn't think we played great tonight, I thought we sat a little bit too deep and didn't have as much control as I would've wanted, but we probably won't remember that in a couple of days." Carsley only had two players who were in his squad for England's first Under-21s triumph in Georgia two years ago, in Elliott, the player of the tournament, and Charlie Cresswell. The Under-21s overcame a tricky start after losing to Germany in the group stages, but shone in the knockout rounds after beating Spain, the Netherlands and Germany to win the title in front of Thomas Tuchel. 'It was a great target to go for and the most important thing is that the young 21s keep winning, keep producing players for the senior team,' Carsley said. 'We spoke a lot about the position where potentially we'll go for three, so I'm definitely looking forward to that. It's a great target to go for. I don't think it's been done yet, so it may be looking at the squad as well.' Carsley, who stepped up to manage England on an interim basis before Tuchel's appointment last year, was also praised by FA chief executive Mark Bullingham. 'I am sure Lee will be humble about what he and the group have achieved but he should be recognised for this special achievement,' Bullingham said, as reported by the Guardian.
