Time of India22-04-2025

In the fast-moving world of quick commerce and everyday services, India's on-the-go professionals are the silent force keeping cities in motion — navigating deadlines, busy streets, and unpredictable schedules with unwavering focus. For them, reliability and durability are non-negotiable. The
OPPO F29 Series
is designed with this very purpose — a smartphone that stands strong through spills, drops, and long hours without compromise. Inspired by the spirit of those who power daily life, and shaped by OPPO's commitment to purposeful innovation, the F29 Series is the Durable Champion built for those who never miss a beat. Let's take a closer look at what sets it apart.
OPPO'S promise of durability
At OPPO, durability isn't just a feature, it is the guiding principle for crafting devices that stand the test of time. Unlike other smartphone players, OPPO's commitment to durability is built on four key pillars that ensure every device is designed to last, adapt, and perform in the real world. Water resistance is redefined with industry-leading IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, offering protection from rain, spills, and even high-pressure sprays. 360° drop resistance provides comprehensive impact protection from every angle, reflecting OPPO's focus on real-world resilience.
Long-lasting battery
performance ensures devices stay powerful over time, with optimised charging for all-day use and long-term reliability. And with stable network performance, OPPO devices maintain strong connections even in challenging environments. With these four focus areas, durability becomes more than a feature—it's a foundation of trust OPPO builds into every device.
OPPO F29 Series - The durable champion for India's real-life heroes
At OPPO, the focus is on deeply understanding the challenges faced by users to create products that not only deliver exceptional functionality but also address real, everyday needs. As India's gig economy rapidly expands, with millions of drivers, delivery partners, home-service professionals and small business owners — currently 7.7 million strong and projected to reach
23.5 million
by 2030 — durability has become a critical factor in ensuring reliability and performance under tough conditions.
To meet the demands of this vibrant workforce, OPPO has introduced the F29 Series, which is engineered to endure the diverse and challenging environments that professionals face daily.
OPPO F29 Series: Built for India, Tested in India
The OPPO F29 Series is purpose-built for India's road warriors — drivers, delivery partners, and field professionals who brave tough conditions daily. Uniquely built for India and extensively tested in India by SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance), the F29 Series has proven its durability against real-world challenges, including extreme temperatures, water exposure, dust, vibrations, and salt mist. Certified across 14 MIL-STD-810H-2022 military-grade parameters, it stands strong where performance matters the most.
With an IP66, IP68, and IP69 rating, the F29 is equipped to handle everything from monsoon downpours and dusty highways to accidental spills of tea, coffee, oil, or detergent — resisting up to 18 everyday liquids. Its 360° Armour Body absorbs shocks from drops, making it ideal for fast-paced, on-the-move professionals. The industry-first Hunter Antenna Architecture ensures 300% stronger connectivity in low-signal zones like elevators, basements, and remote roads — keeping users connected wherever work takes them.
Despite its rugged durability, the F29 Series doesn't sacrifice design. With a high-capacity 6500mAh battery on the F29 and 6000mAh on the F29 Pro, plus SUPERVOOC™ fast charging, it keeps up with long, demanding schedules. All this comes in a slim, elegant form factor — delivering on OPPO's philosophy of blending powerful engineering with everyday usability. It's a device that's as tough as it is thoughtful, made for those who keep India moving.
Not just a smartphone - A tribute to everyday heroes
Beyond technical resilience, the OPPO F29 Series stands for something bigger — a salute to those who keep India moving quietly and tirelessly. From delivery riders and gig workers to field agents and service providers, these everyday heroes are the real force behind our daily lives. As their role grows, so does the need to recognize their dedication. Through the #ZindagiKeRealHeroes initiative, OPPO is shining a spotlight on this remarkable community. Now it's your turn — take a selfie, make the pledge, and
join the movement
to celebrate the spirit and strength of India's real champions.

OPPO Find X9 series tipped to feature flat displays and Dimensity 9500 chip

The OPPO Find X9 series is expected to debut in China this fall — probably in October, if the company follows the Find X8 launch timeline from last year. However, that hasn't stopped the rumour mill from churning out interesting details about the next-generation devices, especially one related to the phone's front profile. According to popular tipster Digital Chat Station, two of the upcoming phones in the series will feature flat displays with screen sizes of 6.59 inches and 6.78 inches, respectively. These devices are tipped to be the standard X9 and X9 Pro. For context, with the Find X8 series, only the standard X8 came with a flat display, while the X8 Pro was one of the first phones to feature the quad-curved display interesting titbit from the leak is the suggestion that OPPO could be solely relying on flat panels across the entire Find X9 lineup. So, even the X9 Ultra model, which is expected to succeed the X8 Ultra, could come with a flat panel — just like the standard and Pro variants. On top of this, there's a rumour of a compact 6.3-inch device as well. This could possibly be called the OPPO Find X9s, as the company already offers a 6.3-inch compact phone in the Find X8 series, namely, the OPPO Find X8s. Of course, we'll get to know more about these phones in the coming from the design rumours, as you must have figured out, the Find X9 series is expected to include four devices — the 6.3-inch model, the X9 with a 6.59-inch display, the X9 Pro with a 6.78-inch display, and the X9 Ultra, likely with a 6.82-inch display, succeeding the X8 Ultra. The phones are set to receive a substantial hardware upgrade as well. Rumours suggest the Find X9 series could be powered by the next-generation MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip — said to be built on TSMC's 3nm advanced N3P process. This shouldn't come as a surprise, as three phones in the Find X8 series — X8, X8 Pro and X8s — are powered by the Dimensity 9400 series chipsets. However, it will be interesting to see whether the Ultra model also comes with the Dimensity 9500 chip or uses the second-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite When it comes to the launch timeline, this is where things get interesting. You see, with the Find X8 series, we witnessed a scattered launch. While the X8 and X8 Pro were initially launched in China last October and later released worldwide (including India) in November, the X8 Ultra and the X8s (alongside the X8 Plus) were unveiled in April — just a couple of months ago. On top of this, OPPO isn't even selling the Find X8 Ultra and Find X8s in that said, while the entire Find X9 series looks quite promising, it will be interesting to see whether OPPO decides to launch all the phones together or go for a scattered release like the X8 series. Also, which of the phones make their way to India remains to be tuned to India Today Tech for all the latest on the OPPO Find X9 series.
