Minimalist Hotels announces plan to add 20 new properties in India

Yahoo08-05-2025

Minimalist Hotels has announced an expansion plan to add 20 new properties across India over the next two years.
The lifestyle hotel brand aims to raise Rs200m ($2.3m) to fuel this growth, targeting the mid-market segment in key destinations such as Rajasthan, Goa and Mumbai, reported ETHospitalityWorld.com.
This expansion is set to significantly increase Minimalist Hotels' footprint, adding approximately 700,000ft² to its current 200,000ft² portfolio.
The expansion will see Minimalist Hotels' total built-up area reach approximately one million square feet. This scale-up is underpinned by investments in operational systems and corporate infrastructure to manage the growing number of properties.
Minimalist Hotels stated that over the past seven years, it has hosted more than 150,000 guests, demonstrating the brand's growing popularity among modern travellers.
The company also added that it places a strong emphasis on local employment, with half of the staff at each property being local hires. This approach not only bolsters regional economies but also ensures that guests experience authentic cultural hospitality.
Minimalist Hotels aims to position itself to cater to the needs of contemporary travellers amid India's growing tourism and the increasing popularity of experiential travel.
The brand's strategy is to focus on creating a network of properties that offer cultural immersion and are designed to be hubs for relaxation, creativity, and meaningful connections.
Minimalist Hotels CEO Gautam Munjal said: 'At Minimalist Hotels, our vision is to redefine the lifestyle hotel experience by blending minimalism with design, functionality, and local culture with global sensibilities. With the steady growth in tourism, we see a meaningful opportunity to extend our presence and offer thoughtfully curated hospitality to more travellers seeking comfort, authenticity, and a sense of connection.'
