Gavin And Stacey co-creator Ruth Jones and her producer husband David Peet have legally separated but 'remain good friends', the couple said in a statement.
The couple, who married in 1999, told the PA news agency: 'We amicably went our separate ways 18 months ago and are now legally separated. We remain good friends.

'Since our separation, Ruth is living in London and David is living in Canada, where he is in a new relationship.'

Jones rose to fame as the co-writer and star of Gavin And Stacey, playing Vanessa 'Nessa' Jenkins, in three series and three Christmas specials from 2007 to 2024.
The show's finale episode, which aired on Christmas Day 2024, saw Jones's character Nessa marry Neil 'Smithy' Smith, played by her fellow co-writer James Corden.
At this year's TV Baftas, Jones won the best female performance in a comedy for her role in Gavin and Stacey.

Jones has also appeared in ITV drama Fat Friends, BBC sketch show Little Britain, BBC sitcom Saxondale, and BBC black comedy Nighty Night.
Other roles include playing Carry On star Hattie Jacques in a BBC biopic.
In 2014, Jones was made a Member Of The Order Of The British Empire (MBE) in the New Year Honours for her services to entertainment.

Sammy Winward's daughter Mia Dunn has made the bombshell claim she was 'emotionally neglected' by her mother, after being 'cut off' by her parents for pursuing a career on OnlyFans. The model, 19, joined the adult content site last year, angering both her mother and father, former Blackburn Rovers footballer David Dunn. And in a new interview with The Sun, Mia has claimed that during her childhood she felt 'lonely and controlled' and would sometimes only see her mother Sammy for '10 minutes a day' due to her filming schedule on Emmerdale. Breaking down in tears, she said: 'I was raised by a 19-year-old soap star... I may have been spoiled materially, but I was definitely neglected emotionally. 'I often felt lonely, picked on and controlled - about what I wore, what I said in public and most of all unsupported. 'At times her choices - like boyfriends - left me feeling scared and sometimes it felt like too much pressure was placed on my shoulders.' Mia said she and her parents are no longer on speaking terms after she launched her career on adult site OnlyFans, but she views her mother's reaction as hypocritical given she herself posed for lads magazines during her soap heyday.
