New Delhi: Ahead of the release of Karate Kid: Legends on May 30, Jackie Chan and Ajay Devgn discuss the iconic franchise, a possibility of working together, and their favourite genre, action
The beloved Karate Kid franchise is back with Karate Kid: Legends, featuring Jackie Chan reprising his role as Mr. Han, now training his nephew Li Fong (played by Ben Wang). In the Hindi dub, Ajay Devgn and his son Yug lend their voices to the characters, marking Yug's voice-over debut and their first project together.
Ahead of the release, the Devgns caught up with Jackie and Ben to chat about the franchise, their love for action, and working together. Ajay shared that his father, Veeru Devgan, was his real-life Mr. Miyagi: 'It was his dream for me to become an actor.' Jackie added, 'I have many Mr. Miyagis—so many teachers who shaped me.' Ben and Yug, too, chimed in, with Ben agreeing with Jackie that he too has had many teachers in his life. Yug, however, credited his dad for being the guiding light in his life.
When asked about how action has evolved over the years, Ajay offered some advice to aspiring actors, 'Things have gotten a lot easier. Earlier, there were no graphics, no cables. Work hard, that's the only way you'll get results.'
As the conversation turned nostalgic, Jackie reminisced about filming in India for Kung Fu Yoga, recalling fond memories from the shoot and expressing his admiration for Indian cinema. He said, 'Every time I watch a Bollywood film, I am surprised because everybody in Bollywood knows how to dance. The choreography is so good. The rhythm, the look. I told the director (Kung Fu Yoga) that one day I will do just the dance sequence.'
He added that he sees a strong connection between action and dance, noting how both require rhythm, precision, and expressive movement.

Blake Lively WITHDRAWS 'emotional distress' claims against Justin Baldoni in 'It Ends With Us' legal battle

Blake Lively has formally withdrawn two claims against actor and director Justin Baldoni in their ongoing legal battle following their collaboration on the 2024 romantic drama It Ends With Us. The withdrawn claims specifically related to allegations of "emotional distress", in the actress' lawsuit against her director filed in December 2024. According to Variety, Judge Lewis Liman, who is overseeing the case in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, confirmed that Lively's claims for emotional distress would be thrown out. The judge noted that the withdrawal was based on 'the plaintiff's representation that the relevant claims will be withdrawn,' and as a result, the director's motion to compel Lively to release her medical and therapy records was denied. Lively initially filed a lawsuit, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and orchestrating a public smear campaign. In response, Baldoni's team moved to access Lively's mental health records, arguing that such evidence was essential to counter her claims of 'severe emotional distress and pain, humiliation, embarrassment, belittlement, frustration and mental anguish'. However, the court noted that without the emotional distress claims, those records were no longer relevant. Judge Liman instructed both parties to decide whether the dismissal of these claims would be permanent (with prejudice) or temporary (without prejudice), and offered the actress the opportunity to choose to try to reach an agreement with Baldoni. If no formal dismissal is made, Lively will be barred from introducing any related evidence. Lively's attorneys, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, criticised Baldoni's legal team for their approach which they claim is 'a press stunt'. In a statement to the media, her lawyers said, 'Ms. Lively has offered to dismiss those claims because they are no longer necessary and she will continue to pursue emotional distress damages through other active claims in her lawsuit, including sexual harassment and retaliation. ' Meanwhile, Baldoni is suing both Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds for $400 million. He alleges the actress attempted to extort him and later defamed him through statements published in The New York Times. The legal battle now involves six separate lawsuits in various courts. Virat Kohli mentions Test cricket for the first time since retirement: 'IPL win with RCB still five levels below it'

At last, after 18 years, Virat Kohli finally got his hands on the coveted Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs in the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to win their maiden IPL title. Kohli, who retired from Test cricket on May 12, addressed the importance of the longest format after the RCB won the IPL 2025 season. Kohli's Test retirement came as a shock to many as the right-handed batter called time on his career ahead of the all-important England tour, where India are slated to play five Tests. Kohli ended his Test career, having played 123 Tests, in which he scored 9230 runs at an average of 46.85. He smashed 30 centuries and 31 fifties in his 14-year-long career in whites. While speaking with former Australia batter Matthew Hayden after the IPL 2025 final, Kohli said that RCB winning the tournament means the world to him, but it still ranks five levels under Test cricket. 'This moment is right up there with the best moments I've had in my career. But it still marks five levels under Test cricket. That's how much I value Test cricket. And that's how much I love Test cricket. So I would just urge the youngsters coming through to treat that format with respect,' said Kohli. Kohli, who is the most successful Indian Test captain, having led the team to 40 victories under his tenure, said if young players want to earn respect around the world, then they need to take up Test cricket. 'So if you want to earn respect in world cricket all over, take up Test cricket. Give your heart and soul to it. And when you walk out with wonders on the other side, then you gain respect in the cricket world with legends like yourselves,' said Kohli. Speaking about the IPL 2025 Final, RCB posted 190/9 in the allotted twenty overs. Virat Kohli top-scored for the franchise with a knock of 43 off 35 balls. Krunal Pandya then returned with the figures of 2/17 in his quota of four overs as RCB won the contest by six runs. Romario Shephard took the crucial wicket of PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer. After the match came to an end, Kohli broke down and he struggled to fight back tears. The entire RCB squad came up to him to celebrate the victory.
