MADINAH — The Madinah Health Cluster has introduced an ambulance scooter service at the Prophet's Mosque to provide rapid medical assistance to visitors during the holy month of Ramadan 2025.
The initiative aims to enhance emergency response efficiency by enabling medical teams to swiftly reach patients in need of urgent care.
The new service, designed to support emergency operations within the courtyards of the Prophet's Mosque, facilitates quick intervention for emergency and critical cases.
The mobility of the ambulance scooter allows paramedics to navigate through dense crowds of worshippers and visitors, ensuring immediate medical attention before transferring patients to nearby healthcare facilities.
Since its launch at the beginning of Ramadan, the service has already provided medical care to 91 cases.
The Madinah Health Cluster confirmed that all cases requiring further treatment were transferred to health facilities within the central region, including Al-Salam Endowment Hospital, Al-Haram Hospital, and urgent care centers at Al-Safiya and Bab Jibril.

These services are part of the efforts to enhance service efficiency in line with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to safeguard pilgrims' health and facilitate safe and smooth rituals. Healthcare data revealed that over 80,603 pilgrims have benefited from primary healthcare centers, while emergency departments received 35,176 cases. Outpatient clinics attended to 7,541 patients, and hospitals admitted 5,619 cases, including 2,626 in intensive care. Additionally, 248 cardiac catheterizations and 18 open-heart surgeries were performed. The healthcare sector continues to intensify its efforts, utilizing advanced technologies and specialized personnel to create a supportive medical environment that enables pilgrims to complete their rituals with ease and tranquility.

The deputy emir also met with Public Health Authority CEO Dr. Abdullah Algwizani in Mina. During the meeting, Prince Saud had a detailed briefing on the authority's initiatives for the 2025 Hajj season, including an overview of the proactive role played by mobile units dedicated to disease containment, the implementation of field laboratory tests, and the strengthening of swift response efforts across the holy sites.
