Israel's Evacuation Warning To Gaza Residents Ahead Of ‘Striking Rocket Launch Sites'
Last Updated:
With the new warning, around 80 per cent of the Gaza Strip has come under some form of forced displacement order
The Israeli army on Friday issued an evacuation order for residents of parts of Gaza City ahead of a planned attack deep inside the battered Palestinian territory.
The evacuation order coincides with the start of Eid al-Adha, one of the most significant religious festivals in the Muslim calendar.
'This is a final and urgent warning ahead of an impending strike," army spokesman Avichay Adraee said, adding that the Israeli military will 'strike all areas from which rockets are launched."
The evacuation warning has reportedly been issued for Blocks 608, 609, 615, and 616 in northern Gaza. According to reports, these areas were allegedly used to launch rockets and missiles toward Israel.
With the new warning, around 80 per cent of the Gaza Strip has come under some form of forced displacement order, severely limiting the options for Palestinians seeking refuge.
Israel Intensifies Gaza Campaign
The Israeli military has intensified its operations in Gaza, describing it as a renewed offensive aimed at dismantling Hamas, following the group's attack in October 2023 that triggered the ongoing conflict.
Calls from the international community for a negotiated ceasefire have gained momentum in recent weeks.
On Thursday, Hamas's senior negotiator Khalil al-Hayya expressed the group's willingness to re-engage in talks to secure a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
Previous negotiations have failed to make headway since the collapse of a brief truce in March, which ended when Israel resumed its military campaign.
Israel is also under increasing international pressure to improve humanitarian access to Gaza. A blockade lasting over two months severely restricted the flow of essential supplies, resulting in acute shortages of food and other necessities.
In response, Israel has partially lifted the blockade and is cooperating with the US-supported Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) to facilitate aid delivery through a limited number of distribution centres in southern and central Gaza.
However, the GHF has drawn sharp criticism from the UN and humanitarian agencies, especially following a series of deadly incidents near its facilities.
According to figures compiled by AFP from official sources, Hamas's October assault on Israel claimed the lives of 1,218 people, most of whom were civilians.
According to the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza, at least 4,402 people have been killed since Israel resumed its offensive on March 18, bringing the total death toll in the conflict to 54,677—most of them civilians.

Four Israeli Soldiers Killed, 5 Injured In Gaza House Explosion Triggered By Hamas
Israel's military announced Friday the deaths of four soldiers in Gaza, saying it needed thousands more troops to press its offensive, just as the premier's coalition faces the prospect of collapse over ultra-Orthodox conscription. News of the soldiers' deaths came as Gaza's civil defence agency reported 38 killed Friday in Israeli attacks across the territory, where Palestinians observed the Eid al-Adha holiday under the shadow of war for a second consecutive year. Military spokesman Effie Defrin said the four soldiers were killed as they "were operating in the Khan Yunis area, in a compound belonging to the Hamas". #israelhamaswar #gaza #khanyounis #israelpalestineconflict #palestine #israelhamaswar #hajj2025 #gaza #idf #unitedstates #alqassambrigades #hamas #gaza #eidmubarak #iduladha2025 #abuobaida Read More

Israel arming local militias in Gaza to counter Hamas
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed arming local militias in Gaza to weaken Hamas, a move criticized by opposition politicians who warn it endangers national security. Former Defence Minister Avigdor Liberman described the operation as "complete madness," claiming Israel is arming extremist groups. Hamas condemned the action, accusing Israel of creating insecurity and social chaos by arming criminal gangs. Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads Israel has confirmed it's arming local militias in Gaza to weaken Hamas, as opposition politicians warned that the move endangers national security, CNN Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the move, saying it's "a good thing."In a social media video, Netanyahu said Israel had "activated clans in Gaza which oppose Hamas," and that it was done "under the advice of security elements."According to CNN, Former Defence Minister Avigdor Liberman criticised the plan, saying that Israel was distributing rifles to extremist groups in Gaza and describing the operation as "complete madness.""We're talking about the equivalent of ISIS in Gaza," Liberman said one day later on Israel's Army Radio, adding that Israel is providing weapons to "crime families in Gaza on Netanyahu's orders.""No one can guarantee that these weapons will not be directed towards Israel," he said,After Liberman's revelation, the Prime Minister's Office issued a statement saying, "Israel is acting to defeat Hamas in various ways upon the recommendation of the heads of the security establishment."Meanwhile, Hamas said the plan revealed "a grave and undeniable truth."In a statement, the militant group said: "the Israeli occupation army is arming criminal gangs in the Gaza Strip with the aim of creating a state of insecurity and social chaos."One group that has received weapons from Israel is the militia led by Yasser Abu Shabab , officials Shabab's group controls some territory in eastern Rafah, and photos have surfaced showing him holding an AK-47 rifle with UN vehicles behind Abu Shabab's denial of receiving Israeli support, Hamas has condemned him as a "traitor" and vowed to confront his group."We pledge before God to continue confronting the dens of that criminal and his gang, no matter the cost of the sacrifices we make," Hamas Netanyahu has not laid out a plan for who will govern Gaza in the future and has hardly made clear any of his post-war intentions for the coastal enclave. Part of Israel's war goals include the complete disarmament of Hamas and the end of its ability to govern in the arming of militias in Gaza appears to be the closest that Netanyahu has come to empowering any form of alternative rule.
