Rumours of trouble in Govinda and wife Sunita Ahuja's marriage have been haunting the couple for a while now. While Sunita has previously rubbished such claims, in a recent interaction, she hinted at cracks in their relationship. 'I won't let anyone take my husband away,' Sunita exclaimed while talking about her marriage. She also shared that she fell in love with the Raja Babu star at the age of 15 and went against her father's wishes to marry him.
In an interview with Deccan Talks With Asif, Sunita revealed that her father did not attend her wedding with Govinda, but she went ahead with the wedding anyway. 'He never wanted me to marry Govinda. He didn't even come to my wedding. He knew what goes around in the film industry, he wanted me to marry a businessman. He had even selected a boy for me in Holland but mera pyaar sacha tha (but I truly loved Govinda). I was 15 years old when I held Govinda's hand. That childhood love is like that, we both loved each other a lot.'
Talking about the current state of their relationship, she said with her signature laugh, 'Pata nahi kis ki nazar lag gayi (I don't know who cursed us). I won't let anyone take my husband away from me.'
Sunita also credited Govinda's mother for their marriage. She said, 'When I got married to Govinda, he lived with his big family but I loved him. Even now, I am living at Govinda's home because of my mother-in-law. She wanted us to get married. She had told him, 'Chichi, if you leave Sunita, tu bhikhari ban jayega (If you leave Sunita you will become a beggar). I remember this dialogue.'

In an earlier interaction with Hauterfly, Sunita admitted to facing many ups and downs over the course of her 40-year marriage with the actor. Sharing her thoughts on infidelity, she said, 'I would like to tell women that don't ever say that your partner is innocent (doesn't cheat). If he does it, it will become so bad and no matter how hard you try to get rid of the other woman, she won't leave him for years. Even if you leave him, that woman won't.' Reflecting on her own experience, she said, 'Now, it has been 40 years. When it happened, then I endured it,' she said.
A few months ago, there were rumours that Sunita and Govinda were getting divorced, but Sunita denied these rumours.

Govinda's Wife Sunita Ahuja Slams His Career Choices: ‘Wasting Time, Not Losing Weight'

Last Updated: Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja calls him out for not working, refusing to lose weight, and living in the past while fans still miss him on screen. Govinda, one of Bollywood's most beloved stars, has been missing from the big screen for quite some time now. While fans eagerly await his return, his wife Sunita Ahuja has spoken about the reasons behind his absence, and she isn't holding back. In a recent chat with Instant Bollywood, Sunita revealed that while she rarely fights with Govinda, she does get upset about one particular issue—his lack of work. 'I never fight with Govinda about anything, only about one thing. Go work. The public is missing you," she said bluntly. Sunita shared that while the actor is now considering producing his own films, she's not entirely on board with his vision. 'He is now thinking of making his own films. But I don't want him to make movies like the 90s. That era is over. Today's subjects… you see where cinema is going today. I want him to watch Netflix, OTT, and see what's trending." She didn't hold back while talking about his health either. 'I tell him to lose weight. He should lose at least 20 kilos," she said, recalling how Govinda once promised to return with a physique like Sylvester Stallone's. 'I told him, I don't think that's happening in this lifetime, and in the next life, I don't want you as my husband. I want you as my son." Sunita also blamed those in Govinda's inner circle for his career stagnation. 'You're wasting your time because of the Yes-men around you. They aren't teaching you good things," she said, adding that he continues to surround himself with the wrong kind of people—unknown music directors and writers—and refuses to adapt to modern-day filmmaking. 'He gets angry that I speak the truth to his face," she concluded. 'But you are not giving me money, so why should I flatter you? I am not here to flatter anyone." First Published:

Well, all that glitter is not gold. The lives of actors seem very glittery but even they and their families face many difficulties from their profession. Now, Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja, who is known for speaking her heart out without any fear of judgment, opened up on struggles of being married to him and claimed that he spent most time with co-stars. Yes, you heard that right! In a recent conversation with Instant Bollywood, Sunita Ahuja shared, 'Ek hero ki biwi hona, aapko patthar ka dil banana padta hai. Aap dekhte ho hero humare se zyada to heroine logo ke saath rehte hain.' (Being the wife of a film star, you have to have a heart of stone. You see them spending more time with their heroines than with us). Govinda's wife also talked about trust in a relationship and admitted that having no trust in a partner will ruin one's life. She highlighted how crucial it is not to let insecurities take over, especially in a long marriage. Pointing to the value of commitment and perspective, she questioned how one could sustain a relationship for 30 to 40 years without focusing on the bigger picture and the shared journey, rather than getting caught up in doubt. Sunita also opened up about the time when she embraced motherhood and revealed that the actor wasn't present with her. She shared he was mostly away for shoots during her delivery of both their children Tina and Yashvardhan. Sunita Ahuja added that she was staying with her mother-in-law at that time as she couldn't travel with their little ones. She also gave credit for her understanding of family to Govinda's mother and she shaped her thoughts while staying together. She proudly shared that the actor had a deep love for his mother, driven by fear and that he never did anything wrong in his life. Meanwhile, Govinda tied the knot with Sunita Ahuja in 1987. The duo are proud parents to two children Tina Ahuja and Yashvardhan Ahuja. Tina made her acting debut in 2015 with Second Hand Husband.
