A hero RNLI Queensferry crew member took on a massive physical undertaking for charity and raised thousands for a good cause.
Chris Brydie has volunteered with the RNLI in Edinburgh for the past four years and loves helping save lives on the water.
The devoted crew member completed the London Marathon to benefit the charity and to help them continue their rescue work.
Chris ran through scorching conditions for 26.2 miles with an impressive finishing time of three hours and 52 minutes.
He even made it to Monday night RNLI training the following day, according to the RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat's social media.
In total, Chris raised £4,800, according to the Lifeboat.
Chris shared his marathon story for the RNLI Queensferry on Enthuse, where he is still accepting donations.
It reads: "I've been a crew member on the RNLI Lifeboat at Queensferry since 2021 and I see first-hand the great work that the RNLI do - Saving Lives at Sea.
"I'm proud of this work and have therefore chosen to raise money for the RNLI by running the London Marathon this year. It's not going to be easy - I'm closer to 50 years old than 40, my body doesn't fix itself like it used to and 26 miles is still a very long way!
"I appreciate that there are many good charities to donate to, but I would be incredibly grateful for any sort of donation towards my goal.
"It's worth highlighting that the RNLI is a charity funded almost entirely by donations, grants and wills - we receive no financial support from the government. Put simply, we can't save lives without your support."
If you want to donate to Chris's cause, you can do so here.

Explosions, fires on cargo ship off India's Kerala coast

KOCHI, India, June 9 (Reuters) - Multiple explosions and fires erupted on a cargo ship bound for India's financial capital Mumbai on Monday, causing 40 containers to fall into the Arabian Sea and forcing several crew members to jump overboard to escape the flames, officials said. The Singapore-flagged WAN HAI 503 met with an accident about 144 km (90 miles) off the coast of the southern Indian state of Kerala, said Shekhar Kuriakose, secretary of the state's disaster management authority. "According to preliminary information ... there were 22 workers on board the ship ... 18 jumped into the sea and are in rescue boats. Efforts are underway to rescue them," he said, adding that the vessel was not "currently sinking". Pictures and videos shared by the Indian coast guard on X showed a thick plume of black smoke rising from the ship, and some containers lying open and in disarray near the point where the smoke was escaping. "Vessel is presently on fire and adrift," a defence ministry public relations officer said on X. Officials did not disclose the nature of the cargo in the containers, nor what caused the explosions. A container vessel sank in another accident off Kerala last month, releasing 100 cargo containers into the Arabian Sea. The directorate general of shipping said on Friday there were no reports of oil pollution because of that incident.

Queensland fire crews work to rescue man in his 80s stuck up to his neck in silo of fertiliser

Specialist fire crews were working on Sunday to rescue a man in his 80s trapped in a silo filled with urea in regional Queensland. A Queensland fire department spokesperson said a family member of the man reported just after 1.30pm he had fallen into a silo on the property near Eurombah, north of Roma. The silo contained urea, which is used for fertiliser. Queensland fire and rescue crews specialising in confined space and vertical rescue had secured the man in a harness while the urea was slowly released out of the bottom of the silo. As of 4pm, the urea had been lowered to the man's waist level, with rescue crew using buckets to empty it out. A rescue helicopter was on the scene to assist, alongside the fire crews, Queensland ambulance service and Queensland police.
