Saudi Arabia is preparing to launch an online platform that will enable citizens to apply directly for residential land allocations in Riyadh, according to the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC). The platform is being developed as part of broader efforts to address land availability and support the government's long-term real estate strategy in the capital.
The new system aims to streamline the land application process, removing the need for intermediaries and increasing transparency in how residential plots are allocated. The move follows recent directives issued by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that include lifting development restrictions and increasing the supply of planned plots across northern Riyadh.
The Royal Commission stated that the initiative will help balance supply and demand in the real estate market and contribute to the objectives of Vision 2030, including the goal of increasing homeownership among Saudi nationals.
The RCRC also clarified that any announcements related to the platform will be made exclusively through its official channels. Citizens were urged to remain vigilant and avoid dealing with individuals or parties claiming to offer land sales or services outside the formal framework.
As part of the wider strategy, the government plans to offer between 10,000 and 40,000 fully serviced residential plots annually over the next five years. These plots will be made available to eligible citizens at a capped price, with the intention of improving housing affordability and expanding access to urban development in Riyadh.
