Renaissance Global Ltd (BOM:532923) Q4 2025 Earnings Call Highlights: Strategic Investments and ...

Release Date: June 02, 2025 For the complete transcript of the earnings call, please refer to the full earnings call transcript. Renaissance Global Ltd (BOM:532923) reported a 6.7% year-over-year revenue growth from continuing operations, reaching 1,988 crores in FY25. The company's EBITDA margin improved to 9.5% from 8.3% in the previous year, indicating enhanced operational efficiency. A strategic investment was made in Jean Doucet Jewelry LLC, a renowned US-based jewelry designer, to expand the branded business segment. The company launched a cost optimization program projected to deliver annual savings of 40 to 50 crores, including the closure of the Bhavnagar facility, which alone will save 20 crores annually. Net debt was reduced to 250 crores from 319 crores a year earlier, with a net debt to equity ratio improvement from 0.28 to 0.18, reflecting a disciplined approach to deleveraging. The company anticipates a soft start to FY26 due to economic uncertainty created by US trade tariffs. There was a short-term impact on the bottom line due to tariffs that were not passed on to customers for a 60-day period. Restructuring expenses related to the acquisition of Jean Doucet and the closure of the Bhavnagar facility will continue to impact financials in the short term. The company faces challenges in passing on tariff costs to customers, which could affect profitability. The domestic retail business, particularly the Irawa brand, is not yet profitable, with a reported loss of around 4 crores last year. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 2 Warning Sign with BOM:532923. Q: Could you provide an estimate of the interest expected in FY 2025-26 and if the management is still committed to achieving a net debt-free status? A: Sumit Shah, Chairman and Global CEO, stated that while they do not have an exact number for interest costs, they expect them to be lower than last year due to reduced debt. The company is committed to working towards zero net debt, although it cannot commit to achieving this by FY 2025-26 or FY 2026-27. The focus remains on increasing profitability and maintaining a prudent balance sheet. Q: How is the company positioned to handle potential increased tariffs on diamonds and gold products in the US? A: Sumit Shah explained that the US has imposed an additional 10% tariff on jewelry from all countries except China. The company is working with customers to pass on these tariffs. While there was a short-term impact on the P&L due to the tariffs, most customers have agreed to pay them. The company has a backup plan to manufacture goods in the UAE if necessary. Q: What are the plans for restructuring expenses and their impact on revenue? A: Sumit Shah clarified that recent expenses were related to the acquisition of Jean Doucet and not restructuring. The Bhavnagar facility shutdown will incur some costs in Q1 FY 2026, but no reduction in revenue is anticipated. The company expects cost savings of 50 to 60 crores annually from these restructuring activities. Q: Are there any plans for top-line growth, and what is the focus for the coming year? A: Sumit Shah mentioned that the company anticipates significant growth in the direct-to-consumer segment by 40-50% due to the acquisition of Jean Doucet. The licensed brands are expected to grow in low double digits, while customer brand segments will see steady growth. The focus is on profitable growth, particularly in high-margin segments. Q: What is the company's strategy regarding the lab-grown diamond segment? A: Sumit Shah indicated that lab-grown diamonds are expected to become the majority of the business over the next two years. The transition to lab-grown diamonds is seen as inevitable, and the company is focusing on this segment to drive future growth.
