Govt media office in Gaza: Israeli enemy cuts off communications, Internet for ninth time
Gaza – Saba: The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip confirmed Saturday that the Israeli enemy continues to cut off communications and the internet in the Gaza Strip for the ninth time, in a repeated crime aimed at obscuring the truth and deepening the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip. The office said, in a statement, that the Israeli enemy "is persisting in implementing its criminal policies against more than 2.4 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip by deliberately cutting off communications and internet networks for the ninth time since the beginning of its brutal aggression, as part of the genocidal war it has been waging relentlessly against the civilian population for more than 20 consecutive months." It stated that the widespread and recurring outage of communications and the internet cannot be considered a technical or accidental failure, but rather a deliberate and premeditated crime aimed at isolating the Gaza Strip from the outside world, obscuring the truth, and depriving citizens of the most basic necessities of life, security, communication, and seeking help. The government media official pointed out that the outage of communications and the internet has hindered and continues to hinder the work of medical and relief crews, preventing them from reaching the martyrs and wounded, many of whom may have been left to bleed to death without the possibility of rescue. It considered that "this deliberate blackout by the Israeli enemy aims to cover up its heinous crimes in isolated and afflicted areas, exacerbates the scale of the humanitarian disaster, prevents the media from conveying the true picture, and turns every moment of silence on the communications networks into a potential moment of death for innocents whose only crime is their steadfastness in the face of aggression." It considered the continued disruption of communications and the internet a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and reveals the fascist face of the Israeli enemy, which uses technological tools to strangle an entire people. The Government Media Office in Gaza held the Israeli enemy fully responsible for this heinous crime, and held the United States and the international community politically and morally responsible for its complicity and shameful silence. It called on the United Nations, the International Telecommunication Union, and other international organizations to take an urgent, practical stance to end this technical blockade and to pressure for the permanent and stable resumption of communications and internet networks in the Gaza Strip without interruption.
