QB Trevor Lawrence working out with Jaguars' WRs Thomas, Hunter, Brown in Bahamas
Jaguars' QB Trevor Lawrence, and WRs Brian Thomas Jr., Dyami Brown, and Travis Hunter were working out together in the Bahamas.
With wide receivers Brian Thomas Jr., Dyami Brown, and Travis Hunter in the Bahamas recently, was also Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, as he continues to build chemistry within the new offensive scheme with his current group of wideouts.
Over on Brown's YouTube channel, he posted a 16-minute video of the on-field workouts that the group went through.
In this new-look Jaguars' offense, one of the crucial elements under Liam Coen will be multiplicity. From the receiver position, this means having Thomas, Brown, and Hunter all able to line up across the formation, attack different levels of the field, and do so in a variety of ways.
This component is then an added stressor for opposing defenses as it makes it more difficult to decipher what's coming based on who is on the field or where players are lined up. To a degree, there's a level of unpredictability that the offense gains when each wideout can fill a variety of roles.
"I really like it," Lawrence said of Coen's offense. "It has a lot of answers. It's great. It puts a lot on the players, you have to know your stuff, but it gives you all the answers.
"You don't feel like you're stuck in a play that's not set up for success. We change the presentation a lot. We make a lot of things look the same. Without going into too much detail, there's a lot of things I like about it."
In this scheme, we will see more of Thomas lining up in the slot and regularly threatening each level of the field. Brown and Hunter both bring more speed to the offense and can help take some of the focus off of Thomas.
With this trio and Lawrence at quarterback, there will be a lot of different looks that the Jaguars can throw at defenses.
"We'll be multiple and want to be a complete offense in the sense that we have the ability to attack defenses in a variety of ways," said offensive coordinator Grant Udinski.
"You need to have all the tools in the bag, and then take those tools and fit them to the players that you have. How can we take what our guys execute, what our guys execute well, and put those players in the best position for success."

Stashed in 2024, Cowboys 7th-round pick looks to turn grainy film into real opportunity
One of the oldest tricks in the book when it comes to roster manipulation is the IR stash at the end of training camp. When a team has a player it has no intention of putting on the field, but has enough concern another team might have interest, they avoid risking the player being claimed off waivers in an attempt to get them on the practice squad. Instead, they trade practice reps for projection, and place a player like Nate Thomas on IR, where he can work out and sit through meetings. But what happens when the coaching staff changes after the redshirt season? That's what Thomas faces in 2025 where, despite offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer's rise to the head coach role, he has a whole new scheme and position coach to impress. RunDown Position: Offensive Tackle Age: 24 (Week 1 age) Height: 6-foot-4 Weight: 331 pounds Hometown: New Orleans, LA High School: Chamlee High School College: Louisiana (Pre-Draft Analysis) Draft: 2024 Draft, Seventh-Round (No. 233 overall) Acquired: 2024 Draft Contract: Four-year extension (2024), $4.1 million 2025 Base Salary: $795,000 Profile Thomas has a chance to make the 2025 roster as the Cowboys have issues at both tackle spots. Tyler Guyton had an mostly down rookie year as a first-round pick, and his backup Asim Richards doesn't have a ton of experience, either. On the opposite side, Terence Steele is entering the final assured year of his deal and if he can't improve his pass protection he may not get another opportunity in Dallas. In other words, there are future snaps to project and if Thomas shows value, they won't be able to stash him another year. Aside from those three players, Matt Waletzko still exists on the depth chartm as does Dakoda Shepley. The Cowboys also signed Hakeem Adeniji during free agency, who has experience both inside and out, and drafted Anaji Cornelius in the sixth round back in April. Travis Hunter's Rookie Deal With Jaguars Draws Comparison to Spider-Man Meme
Travis Hunter's Rookie Deal With Jaguars Draws Comparison to Spider-Man Meme originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Travis Hunter signed his record-breaking rookie contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The franchise drafted him as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hunter was one of three first-round picks yet to sign his rookie contract. Advertisement According to Adam Schefter, Hunter has signed a four-year, $46.65 million contract that includes a fifth-year team option, which the Jaguars can exercise in the spring of 2028. Hunter becomes the first non-quarterback who wasn't selected No. 1 overall to receive his entire signing bonus upfront. He'll take home a $30.57 million signing bonus, paid in full upfront. Travis Register-Imagn Images The Colorado Buffaloes product played both wide receiver and cornerback during his high school and college days. Hunter will continue to keep the offensive and defensive responsibilities for the Jaguars in the NFL. The Jaguars got creative in flaunting their rookie's rare two-way talent and made a unique announcement for Travis Hunter's signing on Sunday. They first shared a post welcoming 'wide receiver Travis Hunter,' followed shortly by another announcing 'defensive back Travis Hunter.' Advertisement NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo drew a comparison between Hunter's signing announcement and a superhero meme during an episode of "The Insiders" show. "The Jaguars announced the signing of Travis Hunter by tweeting out, 'We signed wide receiver Travis Hunter', and then a minute later saying, 'We signed defensive back Travis Hunter' with two different pictures of Hunter. Reminded me of the Spider-Man meme, where two Spider-Men are pointing at each other." The Jaguars traded up to land Hunter as the 2nd overall pick in this year's draft, parting ways with their next year's first-round pick and additional draft capital in the process. They certainly have massive expectations from the 22-year-old. Hunter charted 96 passes for 1,258 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions last season with the Buffaloes, clinching the Heisman Trophy. He would aim to drop a similar or even better performance in the NFL while managing the toll of the dual role. Advertisement Many Jaguars stars are in the Bahamas following the completion of the team's mandatory minicamp. They then stand side by side, join hands, and sway in a wave-like motion. Then, they each pinch their nose and drop into a slight squat. Finally, they cross their arms under their armpits and lean back-to-back, completing the signature celebration. The fans would hope to see Hunter and Lawrence combine to score numerous touchdowns and pull off more goofy celebrations. Advertisement Lawrence was Jacksonville's No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He took the QB mantle right away and, after a disappointing rookie season, led the franchise to its first postseason appearance after four years. But he hasn't managed to replicate the feat again. The Jaguars parted ways with their next year's first-round pick and additional draft capital to trade up and draft Hunter. The Jaguars plan on using the 2024 Heisman Trophy in both offensive and defensive snaps. Lawrence reportedly wanted to work on timing with Hunter and understand the new system thoroughly. The Bahamas getaway appears to have brought Lawrence and Hunter into sync.
