10-year-old released from hospital after near-drowning at Lake Tobesofkee
Officials tell Channel 2 Action News that the 10-year-old boy who nearly drowned on Friday has been released from the hospital.
On Friday afternoon, three boys swimming at Lake Tobesofkee in Bibb County suddenly went underwater.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office said the fire department responded and was able to pull an 8-year-old and 10-year-old from the water, but sadly a 7-year-old drowned and was declared dead at the scene.
The 8-year-old remains in the hospital in critical but stable condition, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
The incident remains under investigation and none of the boys have been identified.

Morrow County prosecutor intends to seek death penalty in fatal shooting of deputy
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – The Morrow County prosecutor's office announced that it intends to seek the death penalty 'upon the conviction' of the man charged in the death of deputy Daniel Sherrer. During a Friday press conference, County Prosecutor Andrew Wick detailed a grand jury indictment, in which 53-year-old Brian Wilson will face 14 charges in the alleged murder of Sherrer. 'After consultation with the Sheriff's office and the deputy's sheriff's family, and law enforcement community, and review of facts and circumstances around this case, upon conviction it is my intention to seek the death penalty,' Wick said. 'I stand committed with my office and our law enforcement community to seek justice for fallen deputy Daniel Sherrer.' Sherrer, 31, was shot and killed on Memorial Day after responding to a domestic violence call in which Wilson was involved, reportedly with his brother in law, according to Wick. Wilson, 53, was booked into Delaware County Jail days after a shootout between him and Sherrer on the doorstep of a home on County Road 26, just south of Marengo. Wilson, who was injured in the shootout, is charged with aggravated murder and remains in jail with a $5 million bond. Sherrer was reportedly responding to a domestic violence call when Wilson confronted him on the porch of the home. Wilson allegedly told Sherrer, 'You better just f—— go if you want your family to see you tomorrow,' before shots were fired. Several gunshots were heard and Sherrer was hit during the exchange. More shots were fired, a court affidavit said, and two firearms were recovered, including a semiautomatic pistol and a revolver. On Tuesday, Wilson appeared virtually for his arraignment hearing in Morrow County court and received a $5 million cash surety bond with no possibility of paying 10%. Wick had requested a $9 million bond. During the press conference, Wick listed the 14-count indictment handed down by Friday's grand jury against Wilson, It includes the following charges. Sherrer was honored with a 120-mile procession two days after the shooting and was laid to rest Wednesday at a private ceremony at Marion Cemetery. Georgia couple arrested for leaving 3-year-old in a backyard shed without electricity or running water
A Georgia couple is now behind bars after allegedly leaving a 3-year-old alone in a backyard shed for weeks, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Sarah Elizabeth Pombert, 34, and Joseph Matthew Turner, 35, were arrested on Monday after allegedly keeping 3-year-old Bjorn Turner in a backyard shed in Douglasville, Georgia, from May 1 to May 22, according to an arrest warrant obtained by ABC News on Friday. The shed was described as a "dirty living space" that did not have running water or electricity, according to the warrant. The suspects allegedly left the child "unsupervised, unbathed and unclothed with criminal negligence," according to the warrant. The two were arrested for second-degree child cruelty and are currently being held in the Douglas County Jail, according to jail records. Neither Pombert nor Turner has a defense attorney listed as of Friday, according to court records. One of the couple's neighbors, Matthew Govoni, told Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB that the shed burned down during Memorial Day weekend, but officials have not disclosed how they became aware of the child living there. The Douglas County Fire Department did not immediately respond to ABC News' request for comment. Govoni told WSB that Pombert and Turner have lived in their home for more than a decade and was "not surprised" to hear about the child's living conditions due to "the lifestyle they live." "I'm saddened for them and the child, but I mean, for the child, I hope they can get to a place where they can be helped," Govoni told WSB.
