CENTCOM Chief Praises Pakistan's Role Against ISIS-K

The Commander of United States Central Command (CENTCOM), General Michael Kurilla, has commended Pakistan's critical partnership in combating the transnational terrorist group ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K), characterizing the nation as a pivotal ally in global counterterrorism efforts.
Speaking before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday, General Kurilla highlighted Pakistan's robust intelligence cooperation with the United States, which has led to significant operational successes against ISIS-K.

that Pakistan's sustained counterterrorism campaign has severely weakened the group's operational capabilities in the region.
General Kurilla detailed how ongoing Taliban operations in Afghanistan have forced ISIS-K fighters into the tribal borderlands between Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is in these regions, he said, that Pakistani forces, bolstered by US intelligence, have captured multiple high-value operatives and disrupted planned attacks.
Among the successes cited was the arrest of Jafar, a central figure in the 2021 Abbey Gate suicide bombing in Kabul, which killed 13 US service members. General Kurilla revealed that Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, personally contacted him to confirm Jafar's capture and readiness for extradition to the United States.
General Kurilla also outlined ISIS-K's global threat profile, linking the group to high-casualty attacks such as the Crocus City Hall massacre in Moscow and the Kerman bombing in Iran. He added that further intelligence regarding ISIS-K plots targeting the U.S. would be shared in a classified setting.
Despite the persistent threat, Kurilla asserted that ISIS-K is currently at a low point, largely due to Pakistan's ongoing military pressure. He acknowledged the heavy price Pakistan has paid, citing over 1,000 terrorist incidents since early 2024, resulting in the deaths of approximately 700 security personnel and 2,500 civilians.

Egypt Postpones GEM's Inauguration Until Year-End
Nada Mustafa - Ali Abu Dashish Prime Minister (PM) Mostafa Madbouly, announced that the opening of Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) has been postponed to the last quarter of the year. During his remarks, the Prime Minister also highlighted that Egypt's current natural gas reserves have doubled compared to last year. He addressed citizens directly, urging them to conserve electricity: 'A crucial part is rationalizing consumption. Furthermore, he confirmed that all three regasification ships are now operating within Egypt. Regarding regional tensions, Madbouly reiterated Egypt's clear stance in condemning Israeli military operations against Iran, warning that this bilateral conflict could escalate and impact the broader region. During his visit to Beheira Governorate, Madbouly reviewed projects under the presidential 'Decent Life' initiative. He highlighted the importance of the medical convoys and public services being delivered to citizens, describing the initiative as the most significant national project currently being implemented. Khamenei appoints new military chiefs after Israeli strikes kill top commanders - Region
Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, has appointed new commanders to lead the armed forces after Israeli airstrikes on Tehran killed senior officers, including the heads of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the armed forces general staff, Iranian state media reported. Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi was appointed chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces, replacing Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, who was killed in Friday's Israeli strike. Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour was promoted to major general and named commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), succeeding Hossein Salami, also killed in the same attack. Later reports indicated Mousavi was also named to replace Amirali Hajizadeh as head of the IRGC aerospace force. Brigadier General Ali Shadmani was appointed head of Iran's Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, replacing General Gholam Ali Rashid, another top commander confirmed dead in the assault. In official decrees, Khamenei described the slain commanders' deaths as 'glorious and dignified martyrdom at the hands of the evil Zionist regime.' Iranian state media also confirmed the deaths of two more senior officers: General Gholamreza Mehrabi, deputy head of intelligence for the armed forces general staff, and General Mehdi Rabbani, deputy head of operations. Israel said it killed nine Iranian nuclear scientists in Friday's attacks, raising the figure from six announced earlier. It also claimed to have destroyed key nuclear infrastructure, including the Natanz uranium enrichment facility. It has not commented on civilian casualties. Tehran says at least 78 people were killed and more than 320 wounded in the strikes, which hit military and nuclear targets as well as residential areas. Among the dead were 60 civilians, including 20 children, killed when an Israeli missile flattened a 14-storey building in a residential compound in the capital. Ten bodies remain trapped beneath the rubble, Iranian media reported. The Israeli assault marked a significant escalation in the conflict, prompting Iranian missile barrages on central Israel, where seven soldiers were injured. Death toll from Israeli aggression on Gaza rises to 55,297
Basant Ahmed The death toll from the genocidal war and aggression waged by the Israeli occupation forces on the Gaza Strip has risen to 55,297 martyrs and 128,426 were wounded since October 7, 2023. Medical sources reported on Saturday, according to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), that the death toll includes 5,014 martyrs and 16,385 injuried ones since March 18, when the occupation resumed its aggression on the Gaza Strip following the ceasefire agreement.
