Golden Retriever Steals a Bunch of Bananas and Has Exactly Zero Regrets
Dogs are notorious for taking things that don't belong to them! One of my pups is obsessed with socks and cannot come downstairs in the morning without stealing one from the laundry room on the way. Golden Retrievers tend to be particularly fond of items that don't belong to them, especially when they have to reach way up onto the counter to get them! Those are their favorite things to get their paws on!
Comet is an adorable 3-year-old Golden Retriever who has magic eyes that no one can resist. This four-legged beauty is so smart and knows exactly what she wants, whether it's the biggest stick in the yard, a brand-new tennis ball, or a bunch of bananas from the kitchen counter! Her mom couldn't even be upset because this silly girl is just too cute for words!
We meet Comet as she casually climbs up on her doggy bed with a massive bunch of bananas hanging from her mouth. Her mom says, 'What are your plans with those?' Comet just looks up at her with the most pitiful puppy dog eyes you have ever seen. It is as if she's thinking to herself, 'I'm not sure what you mean,' or 'What bananas, I don't see any bananas!'
Mom giggles and calls those her 'trouble eyes' and truthfully, there is no other way to described them! Comet's eyebrows are doing all the talking and at this point there is not a viewer watching that hasn't fallen in love with her.The comment section is full of hearts, laughing face emojis, and some silly thoughts from viewers! Three of our favorite ones include:
'Her plans are to go bananas obviously, LOL.'
'I don't think she took the bananas, looks innocent to me.'
'Her look is saying 'Stop talking to me and let me eat ALL of these bananas!'
According to the American Kennel Club, bananas are a safe and healthy snack for dogs to enjoy, in moderation of course! They are high in fiber, potassium, and other vitamins and therefore, bananas are considered a great low-calorie treat for most of our canine friends.

How Golden Retriever 'Trained' Owner To Never Stop Petting Him Goes Viral
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A dog has trained his owner to never stop petting him, with an adorable video going viral online. Amber McClain, 45, lives in Michigan with her husband Ben, two children, and 4 four-year-old golden retriever, Murph. "We always joke that he's a 'momma's boy' and a 'Velcro dog'," McClain told Newsweek, referencing the term used for when a pet is stuck to you. "He follows me everywhere. He has since he was a little puppy!" Explaining they got Murph during the pandemic, which "might contribute to his 'Velcroness'," McClain said the golden "detests any technology that might steer someone's attention away from petting him. "Often, if I'm looking at my phone, he'll come up and nose it right out of my hand. I work from home, so, a lot of times, if I'm on my laptop on my couch, he'll come up and sit on my lap in between me and the screen." A video showcasing Murph's contempt for anything that stops him from getting all the attention has now gone viral, after McClain shared a clip to her TikTok account @murphsmom2021 on May 31. From left: Murph smiles as his owner pets him, and instantly turns on the manipulation when she stops. TikTok @murphsmom2021 Viewed more than 688,000 times, the footage shows McClain reaching out a hand and scratching Murph, who is beside her on the sofa. He has a smile on his face, and is looking at McClain with love in his eyes. But the second she moves her hand away, Murph's face drops—he stares at her dolefully, and then makes a sound that can only be described as an annoyed groan. McClain goes back to scratching, and the smile is back on Murph's face—for just moment, until she moves her hand again and the unimpressed expression, followed by a groan, is back. The battle continues, with McClain continually scratching and stopping, and Murph smiling and frowning multiple times—and TikTok users were in stitches, with one commenter writing: "He's trained you wonderfully." Another posted: "The 3rd time, he didn't smile. He was expecting to be disappointed!" "The change in his facial expression is so dramatic," one comment read, as another added: "The flip between smile and disappointment is hilarious." From left: Murph's expression changes instantly when Amber McClain stops giving him attention. From left: Murph's expression changes instantly when Amber McClain stops giving him attention. TikTok @murphsmom2021 McClain told Newsweek: "He does do this quite often but not every time." The owner added: "It's been fun to watch the video of Murph blow up. "He has such a funny personality. It's fun to share it with others!" Golden retrievers are popular as family pets thanks to their friendly and devoted nature, and getting along well with family, young children and other dogs, according to the American Kennel Club. In 2024, the breed was third in the AKC's list of the most-popular dog breeds in the U.S. Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share? Golden Retriever's Tender Patience with Baby Pulling His Fur Is Touching Hearts
Golden Retriever's Tender Patience with Baby Pulling His Fur Is Touching Hearts originally appeared on Parade Pets. Golden Retrievers are known to be gentle and loving. A top family-friendly breed, Goldens are wonderful with children of all ages and patient with varying types of temperaments. These pups are often around babies, yet it's best for parents of newborns often take extra caution when introducing their dogs to their new addition. Since babies are extremely fragile, it's wise to always have supervised interaction until your pooch is completely acclimated to a delicate infant. Monte the Golden Retriever is clearly close with the little baby of the family and kindly takes the infant's exploring habits in stride. The @monte_the_golden video showed the extreme patience on Monte's part as he sat next to the baby on a playmat. The infant kept pulling at the precious pup's hair, which had to hurt at least a little, but Monte barely flinched and just nuzzled his tiny sidekick. "POV: You have a Golden Retriever and they are gentle souls," the onscreen text read. Preparing your dog for a baby's arrival is very important. You can start by teaching them basic commands (sit, stay, lie down, leave it/drop it, etc.). Also, train them not to jump up on you and give them a calm space of their own. Introduce your canine to baby sights, sounds, and smells to get them used to what they'll be living with when your infant comes home. Let them gently sniff baby products like pacifiers, high chairs, toys, blankets, and others. If your dog tries to chew on these items, redirect their attention to their own toys and your fur baby to smell baby lotion, shampoo, diaper cream, and other scents to familiarize them with your infant. Playing a video of a baby crying or laughing is also a good way to expose your dogs to the different sounds the little one will make. Some parents practice socializing their dog with a lifelike baby doll. They go through the actions of feeding, rocking, and carrying so they'll see how their pup will react and correct accordingly. Monte seems thrilled about his new family member and is thankfully willing to put up with a few hair pulls for the love he gets in return. 🐶🐾 Golden Retriever's Tender Patience with Baby Pulling His Fur Is Touching Hearts first appeared on Parade Pets on Jun 6, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jun 6, 2025, where it first appeared.

Husky's Epic Confusion Over Pool Cover Is Pure Comedy Gold
Husky's Epic Confusion Over Pool Cover Is Pure Comedy Gold originally appeared on Parade Pets. Huskies are an incredibly expressive breed. Between their animated facial expressions and soulful howls, they always let you know exactly what they're thinking. They're also intelligent and endlessly curious, so if something doesn't make sense, they'll investigate until it does. For this inquisitive Husky, the pool cover posed quite the conundrum. It looked like water, smelled like water, and even felt like water under her paws. But… why couldn't she swim? Watch her hilarious mix of confusion and excitement in this adorable video from @snowdogsvlogs: Hold everything! What kind of witchcraft water is this? That's probably what Eleanor the Husky thought as she darted over the covered swimming pool. Though puzzled at first, she certainly didn't let the strange surface dampen her fun. In fact, her confusion quickly turned to joy as she realized how bouncy and entertaining this 'unwet' water could be. Her parents were wise to choose a dog-safe pool cover that can hold up to 800 pounds, which turned out to be perfect for this kind of spirited summer testing. While Huskies aren't natural swimmers like Newfoundlands or Retrievers, many enjoy water play, especially in warmer months when their thick double coats make them prone to overheating. As described by the American Kennel Club, early positive exposure and supervision are key, especially since some Huskies can be wary of the water. While Eleanor might not be able to take the plunge yet, she's clearly down for the pre-game warm-up. Fans loved her dramatic display. Viewer @elainethewhipadore quipped, 'Fluff this weird water! Where's the splashy-splashy?' @sig_the_siberian joked, 'Omg like a water bed from the 90s lol.' It certainly looks that way! And someone else chimed in, 'Three minutes until she digs her way in.' Which is why she's under supervision. 🐶SIGN UP to get 'pawsitivity' delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾 Thankfully, as shared in a video from June 2, the pool is now officially open, and Eleanor was the first pup to jump in and celebrate. See her leap into the fun with her Husky siblings: Whether she's bouncing, digging, or diving in, one thing's sure: Eleanor is ready for summer in her uniquely Husky way. And moments like these help us all get in the spirit!
