The second man, Nicholas Mackiewicz, was sentenced in 2024 under a plea agreement to four years in prison for first-degree tampering.
Mitchell pleaded guilty under an agreement with prosecutors to a charge of unlawful use of a weapon by exhibiting a gun. He was originally also charged with unlawful use of a weapon by shooting at Mackiewicz after a pursuit that ended near Mercy Hospital. The shooting charge will be dropped under the plea agreement.
Pending his sentencing, Mitchell is to report to probation and parole officers, according to online court records.

Storm Team 3: Finally drier and comfortable weather moves in for the weekend

We're tracking a change in the weather pattern today… finally! Thanks to a cold front that moved through last night, we'll see sunshine along with comfortable conditions today. It will remain breezy and dry with highs in the mid 80s, seasonable for this time of year. As a new front lingers around the area tomorrow, we'll see an increase in temperature and moisture as highs reach the upper 80s to lower 90s. This also brings a very low, 10%, chance of a passing or stray shower both Sunday and Monday. Dry conditions continue into the work week as sunshine persists and highs stay close to 90. Our next real chance of rain with isolated storms moves in for the end of the week as a front begins to develop to our west. Either way, this week will be a great week to get outside with much drier conditions compared to last week! A reminder as tomorrow is the first day of hurricane season, make sure to tune in to the Storm Team 3 Storm Watch Special that airs tonight at 7pm on WSAV. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Waste, fraud and abuse issue in government didn't start with Elon Musk

Host Chris Cuomo gives a dose of perspective on Elon Musk's last day leading the Department of Government Efficiency and looks at what Musk accomplished or didn't accomplish. 'What really matters about Musk and his role at DOGE is the how — how he did the job and where they identified the cuts,' Cuomo says. He also dives deeper into the topic of waste, fraud and abuse, something Cuomo says is so entrenched in government that it's been called out during multiple presidential administrations.
