87-year-old woman struck by train, killed in Atlanta

Atlanta police are investigating the death of an 87-year-old woman who was killed when she apparently walked into the path of a train.
On Monday, officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train near 800 Murphy Avenue SW at approximately 1:18 p.m.
When they arrived, officers found the victim on the train tracks.
It appeared that she had been struck by a train.
Medical personnel pronounced her deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation by police indicates her death was the result of an accident.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office responded to investigate.
The official cause and manner of death will be determined during her autopsy.
Police have not identified the victim.

Gwinnett police seek suspect in Norcross shooting

Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect they say was involved in a Norcross shooting back in April. Authorities say a suspect fired multiple shots at a blue Hyundai Elantra at about 1 p.m. April 10. The Elantra was leaving the area of 5615 Singleton Road. No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire. The suspect is described as a male with medium-length hair, standing about 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds. At the time of the shooting, the suspect was wearing a pink hoodie, white shorts, white shoes and carrying a gray bookbag.
