Fashionistas race to M&S for bloat-friendly linen dress that ‘doesn't cling' & is ‘designed for a perfect summer's day'
THE weather might be very up-and-down at the moment, but warmer temperatures are definitely creeping in.
So, fashionistas are getting their summer wardrobes ready - and have unearthed a bloat-friendly dress from Marks & Spencer that will be 'perfect' for when mercury rises.
The M&S Collection Linen Rich V-Neck Strappy Midaxi Dress, which has spaghetti straps and a tiered skirt, is receiving rave reviews.
It is available from sizes 6 to 24 in a regular length - and some shoppers are even speculating that the British retail giant might release 'petite' and 'tall' renditions too.
One fashionista said that the linen-rich frock is 'designed for the perfect summer's day'.
They added that it is 'well made in a cool fabric with pretty stitched detail'.
Another buyer reviewed: 'I'm very happy with this dress as it isn't see through.
'It has a nice feel to the material and fits well with just enough looseness, so it doesn't cling in hot weather.
'It will be nice for my holidays on the beach.'
The dress, which is available in white, will set you back £49.50.
A blurb on it reads: 'This linen-rich dress is a timeless style for sunny days.
'It's designed in a regular fit, with a flattering v-neckline and adjustable spaghetti straps.
'The swing silhouette and tiered midaxi-length skirt create a breezy feel.'
However, you won't be able to purchase it online for a while, so you'll need to head to your local store to find it.
M&S has been forced to suspend online orders and freeze recruitment due to a severe cyber hack.
The upmarket high street brand was plunged into "pure chaos" last week, with staff having to use their personal devices for work.
Hottest fashion trends of 2025
Fabulous' Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend shares the biggest trends from the high street.
The East/West Bag
Baguette bags have had a good run, after returning from the 1990s' shoulders of Sarah Jessica Parker to modern-day fashion icons, like Hailey Bieber.
In 2025, the East/West bag is a similar but elongated shape and has long, thin straps that are easy to throw over your shoulder.
They've been on runway models' arms at nearly ever designer show - think Burberry, Givenchy and Bottega Veneta - and are hitting the high street now, too.
Powder pink
Bright fuchsia pink had its day after the release of Barbie in 2023 and now the more polished and expensive-looking pale shade is taking over for 2025.
Pantone may say that it's the year of Mocha Mousse, but the catwalks say otherwise! From Prada to Erdem, the subtle look was all over the spring/summer catwalks, worn head-to-toe or on its own.
If the sugary shade is too girly for you, then look to sharp suiting for a androgynous take on the colour.
The shell jacket
The '80s classic is back, but with a sleek and minimal new twist for 2025.
We all know we're likely to see rain for most of spring, so your practical coat of choice should be a cagoule jacket.
Depop revealed one of its big trend predictions for this year is retro sportswear, with surges already seen in '80s windbreakers'.
Seen everywhere from the stylish streets of Copenhagen to the Miu Miu catwalk, now mums who have an emergency raincoat crumpled underneath their pushchair are very much in fashion!
The turn-up jeans
While the shape of jeans remains the same for this year and barrel-legs will still be everywhere, the way we're styling them is different.
This season, transform your wide-leg, baggy denims into turn-ups.
For this look, size doesn't matter, so while deep turn-ups are a hit from jean trend-leaders Citizens of Humanity, a slight fold is still just as good - but only as it's just one single fold.
Peep-toe shoe
Get your pedicures booked in sharpish, as this season your toes are the main event.
After a long hiatus, the peep-toe has been welcomed back into the fashion fold, with brands like Hermes, Miu Miu and Tory Burch showing plain and embellished footwear in this style.
From mules to pumps and clogs (yes, clogs will be around too!), there are lots of different styles that are set to sweep the high street.
Sheer blouses
See-through looks have always lived on the catwalk, but have rarely filtered into everyday life - until now.
Designers Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford loved sheer looks on their S/S '25 catwalks and M&S even had sellout success with its black sheer pencil skirt last season.
Expect to see more sheer looks lining supermarket aisles and high street shops in the form of skirts, tops and frocks.
Employees have no idea whether hackers are still inside the M&S system, it's been claimed.
Sources are even speculating that M&S had no plan for how to deal with a cyber attack and it could be months before it fully recovers.
"We are working day and night to manage the current cyber incident and get things back to normal for you as quickly as possible," chief executive Stuart Machin said in a statement.
"Thank you from me and everyone at M&S for all the support you have shown us. We do not take it for granted and we are incredibly grateful.
"Our teams are doing the very best they can, and are ready to welcome you into our stores - whether you are shopping for food or for fashion, home and beauty this bank holiday weekend.
"Thank you for your support and thank you for shopping with us. We will continue to keep you updated."

Sir Terry Wogan's wife Lady Helen leaves huge sum in her will after sad death
Sir Terry Wogan's wife Lady Helen has left a huge sum in her estate, which will be shared between her three children and five grandchildren Sir Terry Wogan's wife Lady Helen left millions of pounds in her estate. Terry was a British icon and his loyal wife of 51 years stood by his side throughout his entire life. Terry died in 2016 at the age of 77 whilst Lady Helen passed away last year, leaving a huge sum in her will. She died last year at the age of 88, leaving behind three children, who will now inherit her fortune. In a statement at the time of her death, their son wrote at the time: "Lady Helen Wogan - 1936-2024. Our beautiful Mum left us last night after a fantastic life. From a young Irish rose to Lady Wogan , she was the epitome of style and grace. "A Mother, Grandmother and Wife, with love and kindness at her core. A strength and a belief that saw her through many of life's trials. A sense of humour and a turn of phrase that would have you in fits of laughter. "A proper lady in every sense of the word. Her and Dad are hopefully sharing a vodka martini and hoping we don't make too much of fuss. We love you Mum, now and forever." Lady Helen left a huge £4,948,334 in her will, with the total being reduced by £31,000 to £4,917,989 following the removal of costs and fees, documents signed off by the High Court reveal. It has also been reported by The Sun that Lady Helen left two tax free gifts to two of her children - £850,000 to her son Alan Wogan, who is an executor, and also £750,000 to their daughter Katherine. Each of Terry and Helen's grandchildren have also been given a £100,000 trust, which they can access when they turn 25. The rest of their possessions and money will be split between their three living children - Mark, Alan and Katherine. Sir Terry Wogan died of cancer back in January 2016. A family statement, issued by the BBC, said at the time: "Sir Terry Wogan died today after a short but brave battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by his family. While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time." Terry passed away just a few months after his final show on Radio 2, where he announced he had prostate cancer. He pulled out of Children In Need later that month due to health reasons.

Sarah Jessica Parker reveals little-known secret about Sex and the City
Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed a hidden, behind-the-scenes secret about Sex and the City - and it's one that will totally shock fans. Parker, who played the iconic character Carrie Bradshaw on the 1998 hit show, was known for drinking pink-hued Cosmopolitans - a cocktail made with vodka, cranberry juice, Cointreau, and lime juice. However, it turns out that the Cosmos we always saw the ladies drinking weren't exactly what they seemed. 'It wasn't until the show ended that I had a proper Cosmopolitan,' Parker, 60, admitted during a June 2 appearance on Andy Cohen 's SiriusXM radio show, Radio Andy. 'Because I think the ones on the show that every amazing prop person may ever worked with and alongside, did cranberry juice and a twist...' she continued. Cynthia Nixon, who played lawyer Miranda Hobbes on the series, admitted to Cohen that the drinks just tasted like watered down cranberry juice. While the show was airing, Parker recalled that many people would send her Cosmopolitans, but she wasn't a big fan, although she was 'grateful.' They just simply weren't very delicious at some of the restaurants she tried back in the day. 'And so, and then when people very kindly sent me a Cosmopolitan in that particular chapter, there wasn't a lot of finesse around them,' Parker shared. 'So I was under the impression that a Cosmopolitan wasn't worth anyone's time.' Now, however, she touts a different story after she tried a Cosmo at New York City hotspot Morandi. Interestingly enough, during a 2019 interview with Interview Magazine, the star shared that she's not a big drinker in general. In fact, Cohen, her longtime friend, called her a 'one sip a night' kind of gal. 'Yes, as told by Andy Cohen, for many years, I just didn't drink as much as anybody else. I think I've been drinking wine for about 10 or 12 years, actually,' the mom-of-three told the outlet at the time. 'I started drinking wine because I travel so much and I always wanted to have local experiences everywhere I went and wherever I go,' she explained. Parker admitted that she liked to drink wine at the end of the day, or when she's dining with her friends. She also shared that she wasn't great at making cocktails - especially the Cosmopolitan. 'I don't make drinks at home, I don't know how to make cocktails. So, that's why wine is my friend! All it takes for me is a corkscrew or just a twist of the wrist,' Parker said. Her Cosmo confession comes as the season three premiere of the Sex and the City spinoff, And Just Like That, premiered to HBO Max on May 29. The spinoff, which stars Parker as Bradshaw, Kristin Davis as Charlotte York, and Nixon as Hobbes, shows the ladies years later, living their life as adults in New York City. In recent years, the three ladies have worked together on various Sex and The City related projects. The group filmed two spinoff movies - one in 2008 and one in 2010 - but the third one never got off the ground. However, there have been rumors that actress Kim Cattrall was feuding with the cast. She famously did not sign on to revive her character as Samantha on And Just Like That... during the first season, but made a cameo at the end of the season two finale.

BBC The One Show viewers confused over unexpected format change
The One Show fans were left confused as Alex Jones and Clara Amfo interviewed Tina Knowles on Tuesday The One Show viewers were left confused over an unexpected format change on Tuesday (June 3). In the latest episode of the popular BBC show, presenters Alex Jones and Clara Amfo covered the day's biggest stories from the UK and globally. The duo also spoke to actors Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed about their new British action comedy, Deep Cover, as well as television presenter Fern Britton, who discussed her latest novel, A Cornish Legacy. Later on, the hosts sat down with Tina Knowles to talk about her revealing new memoir, Matriarch. The book dives into her life's story, shedding light on her experiences of grief, tragedy, love and heartache, in addition to how she raised her successful daughters, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Solange Knowles, reports the Express. However, the show's viewers were left confused as Tina didn't join the other guests on the green sofa, but was instead sat in a different part of the studio. "I wonder if guests negotiate specially to be interviewed in this separate space, away from the riffraff on the main sofa," one viewer pondered on X (formerly Twitter). Another chimed in: "Tina gets her own sofa #TheOneShow," while someone else questioned: "Why wasn't she sat on the sofa with the guests? #TheOneShow." There was also speculation among some audience members about whether Tina's segment had been pre-taped, with one comment noting: "Never known anyone do this, assuming it's pre-recorded." During her interview, Tina opened up about the significance of penning her memoir, stating: "I have just been behind the scenes for pretty much [my daughters] whole career, so this was a big step for me to come out. "It's been a wonderful journey, I've learned so much from writing this book. It was very necessary to look at all the things, the good and the bad, that have happened in my life, and for me to tell it from my own words. "We're in a time where there are so many rumours, and I just wanted to set the record straight on so many things. It's been a great healing journey for me." Tina revealed that the memoir's origins began over a decade ago as recordings for her grandchildren, but she later realised its wider potential to aid others and chose to publish it.
