Soggy New York to Get More Rain After a Month of Dreary Weather
A weekend storm is expected to bring one last dose of rainfall to an already waterlogged New York after a month of above-average precipitation.
Persistent low-pressure systems have been funneling moisture into the southern half of the state, fueling round after round of storms. As of May 29, rainfall totals were up to 6 inches (15 centimeters) above normal from the Albany area south through the Catskill Mountains and into New York City, said Bryan Jackson, a meteorologist at the US Weather Prediction Center.

A brief shower is possible in areas right up against the everglades early this afternoon. CBS News Miami Temperatures will stabilize or even cool off a few degrees near the coast and just inland this afternoon. Eventually, a few showers will develop along the breeze over the inland metro areas and the Everglades Sunday afternoon. Expect higher rain chances with passing showers and storms this week as the dust moves out and moisture returns from the south. With the persistent southeast breeze, these will be morning showers and storms that push inland each afternoon. There is a little more dust which is forecast to move back into the area next weekend, which could lower the rain chances slightly Friday and Saturday. Sunday evening the storms will diminish leading to another calm and clear night. CBS News Miami

Summer heat builds: 90s possible across Colorado next weekend
A cool front swept across the Colorado plains early Sunday, ushering in slightly cooler temperatures for the second half of the weekend. Sunday afternoon thunderstorms could pop up primarily along the foothills, I-25 corridor, and Palmer Divide, with isolated severe storms possible—featuring gusty winds and hail up to the size of golf balls. CBS Sunday highs will top out in the low to mid-70s across the plains and mountain valleys, with conditions drying out by late evening. CBS The start of the workweek remains unsettled with a small chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms, especially along and south of I-70. While severe weather isn't expected, some storms could still produce lightning, gusty winds up to 40 mph, and small hail. CBS By Tuesday, a ridge of high pressure begins to build, gradually drying out the atmosphere and lifting temperatures. Temperatures soar into the mid-80s by midweek across the plains, with 70s in the mountains. All eyes are on next weekend, when Colorado may experience its first widespread push into the 90s.
