King Charles Hits Back at Harry by Cozying Up to David Beckham
The royal family knows that a well-crafted picture speaks volumes.
King Charles' invitation for David Beckham to appear alongside him at the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday is a very clear rebuff to his son, coming just days after reports that Meghan and Harry had sought to build ties with Beckham's son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz, the daughter of billionaire MAGA investor Nelson Peltz.
Brooklyn Beckham, like Harry, has fallen out with his birth family (English-born soccer player David and his wife Victoria, the designer formerly known as Posh Spice) in a highly publicized feud.
Sources have said that Brooklyn believes he is suffering from 'generational trauma' in language that will be familiar to those who have followed Harry and Meghan's very public argument with the Windsors.
The parallels between the Beckham and Sussex family feud don't stop there: Meghan and Nicola have been blamed in some quarters for having turned once-favored sons against their families.
It emerged last week that Brooklyn and Nicola had dinner with Harry and Meghan recently, and are said to be offering their support to the couple.
Well, it now appears David has some support of his own: the king and queen.
Beckham was warmly greeted by Charles and Camilla on the opening day of the high-profile Chelsea Flower Show in London, and the king asked if Beckham had received a 50th birthday gift of a rose bush that he and his wife sent him.
'You got it, didn't you?' Charles asked, according to the Daily Mail.
Beckham replied: 'It was incredible! Thank you, it was very kind.'
Last week, as the rumors gathered pace about a Brooklyn/Harry team up, Kate Middleton stepped out in a chic Victoria Beckham dress, clearly showing which side she is on.
Beckham and Harry once shared a strong friendship; Beckham was seen as a good influence on Harry in his wilder days and they had several nights out, with William, in happier days. However, their relationship reportedly soured when Harry and Meghan accused David and Victoria Beckham of leaking stories about them to the media. The Beckhams strongly denied these accusations.

Trump blasts Rand Paul as ‘crazy' for resisting tax-cut bill over debt limit
(Bloomberg) — President Donald Trump attacked fiscal conservative Rand Paul as 'crazy' Tuesday morning as he pressed reluctant Republican senators to move forward swiftly with his massive tax and spending package. Where the Wild Children's Museums Are Billionaire Steve Cohen Wants NY to Expand Taxpayer-Backed Ferry The Economic Benefits of Paying Workers to Move At London's New Design Museum, Visitors Get Hands-On Access LA City Council Passes Budget That Trims Police, Fire Spending The Kentucky senator earlier said on CNBC that he wouldn't vote for the president's signature legislation because it would increase the legal US debt limit. 'I'm just not for that. That's not conservative,' said Paul, who also has argued the tax measure would add too much to the national debt. Trump quickly responded with a series of social media posts, saying the senator 'never has any practical or constructive ideas. His ideas are actually crazy (losers!)' While most outside economists have forecast the House version of the legislation would add trillions of dollars to the US debt over 10 years, the White House has claimed that the tax bill would pay for itself in part through economic growth. Trump and Republican leaders have said they have no choice but to add the debt ceiling to the tax bill in order to ensure smooth passage and avoid a payment default as soon as August. Paul posted a response to Trump, saying he favors the tax cuts but 'I also want to see the $5 trillion in new debt removed from the bill,' adding at least three other Republican senators agreed with him, enough to block the legislation. Bannon: Graham giving Ukrainians ‘false hope'
Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, a key MAGA insider, doubled down late Monday on his criticism of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and the lawmaker's vocal support for Ukraine amid its war with Russia. In an interview on NewsNation's 'Cuomo,' Bannon said Graham was giving Ukrainians 'false hope' by meeting with the country's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and by suggesting the U.S. support Kyiv's stunning drone attack on Russia's strategic bombing fleet. 'We can't have Lindsey Graham, and particularly Zelensky, leading us into a third world war with a deep strike into Russia,' Bannon told host Chris Cuomo. The comments come after the former Trump adviser called for the South Carolina Republican to be jailed for his pro-Ukraine stance. Cuomo repeatedly challenged Bannon to back up that request. 'I don't understand how you could want to jail a U.S. senator because he's saying something you don't like,' the NewsNation host said, adding, 'That sounds like the worst of the deep state and lawfare.' Bannon responded, 'No, it's absolutely — what he's doing over there right now is stirring it up. He's giving the Ukrainians false hope.' Cuomo cut in, 'But it's not illegal.' The Trump ally continued, 'He's giving Ukrainians false hope that we're there to support them on engaging Russia in a kinetic conflict. And we are not.' The host continued to press Bannon about why he thinks Graham should be detained. 'So maybe he's wrong, but why do you say throw him in jail?' he said. 'Two things ought to happen: Either cancel his passport and don't let him back in the country, or put him in jail if he comes back,' Bannon responded, adding, 'The attack was audacious.' 'It was brilliant. But the problem is it gets us involved in a conflict that no one in the United States wants to be part of,' he added. Cuomo noted that he didn't necessarily disagree with the former strategist's opinion. 'I'm just saying you can't be throwing people in jail because you don't like what they say. That's my only point,' he told Bannon. 'I'm not saying that you're wrong about where this might lead and how dangerous it is.' Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. How to watch Sony's State of Play at Summer Game Fest
To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so. Summer Game Fest week just got even busier. Sony is throwing its own party on Wednesday, June 5 at 5PM in the form of a State of Play. The stream will showcase "must-play" PS5 games from developers based around the world and you can watch it on on YouTube or Twitch . To make things even easier for you, you can watch it right here by clicking the big red button above when the time is right. (English subtitled and Japanese versions of the State of Play will be available too.) The State of Play will run for over 40 minutes, so there should be a bunch of games included. Sony hasn't given any hints as to what it will show off as yet, but it'll surely be worth checking out the stream. We learned about some interesting projects in the last State of Play, such as the very tasty-sounding Soros from Returnal studio Housemarque. There's always a chance that Sony will show up at Summer Game Fest Live on Friday, June 6, to reveal something else off. With this State of Play, Sony is padding out a packed SGF schedule that includes what is routinely Xbox's biggest showcase of the year on Sunday, June 8. And then there's also the little matter of the Nintendo Switch 2's arrival on June 5. It's shaping up to be a fun, if very busy, week.
