Embrace ' No Mow May '
Let your lawn grow this month to allow wildflowers like dandelions and daisies to flourish. These provide vital nectar for bees and butterflies. Even a small patch left unmown helps.
Add a Wildlife Pond
A small pond, even using an old bowl or container, creates a home for frogs, dragonflies, and birds. Include a shallow edge or ramp to help wildlife access the water safely.
Plant Native Wildflowers
Include UK native plants like knapweed, foxglove, and bellflower to attract pollinators. They're well-suited to local conditions and support a wide variety of insects.
Avoid Chemicals
Ditch pesticides and herbicides. These can harm insects and disrupt your garden's ecosystem. Use organic methods to keep it a safe haven for wildlife.
Create Shelter with Dead Wood
Leave piles of logs or twigs in a quiet corner. These provide cover and breeding ground for insects, amphibians, and small mammals.
Install Wildlife Homes
Put up bird boxes, bat boxes, and bug hotels. These offer vital nesting and shelter opportunities, increasing biodiversity in your garden.
Grow a Variety of Trees and Shrubs
Plant native trees and shrubs like hawthorn or rowan. They offer food and shelter for birds, insects, and other wildlife year-round.
Leave Seed Heads and Stems
Don't tidy up too much! Seed heads and hollow stems offer food and winter shelter for birds and insects.
Create Hedgehog Highways
Cut a small 13cm x 13cm hole at the bottom of your garden fence to let hedgehogs roam freely. Connectivity between gardens is key to their survival.
Provide Fresh Water
Place shallow bowls of clean water in your garden for birds, bees, and mammals to drink and bathe in. Refresh daily to keep it safe.

A new look for Centre Court?Wimbledon serves up its most fashion forward clothing collection yet

For over a century, watching tennis at Wimbledon has come with its own unspoken dress code. Spectators traditionally reached for Panama hats and starched linen jackets as instinctively as players pulled on their all-whites. But this year the chic woven headwear is making way for an array of trendy bucket hats while denim jackets now sit comfortably alongside heritage blazers. Launching today (Thurs), the All England Lawn Tennis Club's 2025 collection marks its biggest shift from genteel, old-school chic towards the fashion-forward, semi-formal 'tenniscore' aesthetic. The 'Court to Club' capsule is said to be a curated edit designed to allow customers to move seamlessly from court-side to post-match socialising and country club style . The collection comprises 174 pieces, priced from £10 to £155, and includes items such as navy and green hoodies, a beanie, £139 striped joggers, and crepe jackets. It has ten different styles of bucket hats on offer - compared to just the one Panama - having only introduced the item for the first time last year. This includes a £39 white option, a new addition to the popular strawberry collection first launched in 2024 in a nod to the SW19 staple - which is embroidered with a giant strawberry. There has been a subtle move in the Wimbledon Shop towards the preppy tenniscore trend made popular by Zendaya's Challengers movie sending sales sky-rocketing Meanwhile sculpting gym leggings and cycling shorts have made their first appearance at the Club alongside long-standing traditional tennis skirt pleats. There has been a subtle move in the Wimbledon Shop towards the preppy tenniscore trend made popular by Zendaya's Challengers movie sending sales sky-rocketing. Last year's collection which featured stylish bomber jackets, strawberry logoed sweaters and vintage cardigans was the Club's best selling ever at both SW19 and online with each seeing double-digit growth. 'This year's collection is inspired by the entire Wimbledon experience—from the intensity of the game to the social atmosphere of the Club,' said Daniel Ashmore, AELTC's Head of Retail and Merchandising. 'We've drawn inspiration from our archives and the evolving trends in tennis fashion, designing a collection that caters to everyone – from serious players looking for the best performance wear, to those who simply enjoy the social side of the sport, and want to look the part. 'All of the pieces blend performance functionality with a touch of country club elegance, perfect for both on and off the court,' he said. The collection also draws on the Club's rich heritage with a newly developed Wimbledon wordmark, inspired by a flowing script discovered on an early 20th-century croquet box from the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum's archives. The release comes as new data from the AELTC shows tennis is experiencing a cultural resurgence in the UK fueled by fashion. Of the 2001 Brits polled, 43 per cent say the sport is becoming a stronger part of national identity, rising to 70 per cent among 25 to 34-year-olds. Last year's collection which featured stylish bomber jackets, strawberry logoed sweaters and vintage cardigans was the Club's best selling ever at both SW19 and online In that same age group, 57 per cent say they are following the tenniscore trend, and 64 per cent already own tennis-inspired clothing. The 2025 Wimbledon Retail Collection is available now in-store and online, ahead of The Championships, which take place from 30 June to 13 July.

Primark opening new type of store in Britain for first time and shoppers will be thrilled

PRIMARK is set to open a brand new type of store just in time for summer. The bargain retailer is due to bring a new model of shop to the UK high street in the coming months. A new 11,900 sq ft, two floor shop is set to open in Manchester at the Trafford Palazzo. It will be the first ever dedicated Primark Home store to open in the UK. Primark have said the shop will bring together "the best of Primark's interiors offering under one roof." It will host an expanded range of homeware and lifestyle essentials for Manchester shoppers to browse and buy. The move comes following the firms first ever dedicated Primark Home store was opened in Belfast earlier this year. The new location in Manchester will also include a dedicated travel shop to help customers get holiday-ready. Paul Baldwin, Trading Director for Home at Primark said: 'Our mission is simple: to make it easy for everyone to create a home they love, without breaking the bank. "Customer reaction to our first Primark Home store in Belfast has been really positive, and we can't wait to bring this exciting new concept to Great Britain later this summer. "Homes have become more than just places to live, they're an extension of our personalities, so whether it's soft furnishings, statement tableware, or smart storage solutions you're after, our range has something for every style and budget.' An exact date for the stores opening hasn't been given by the retailer yet but it is expected to come this summer. 'One of each please,' shoppers race to Primark for adorable cosy homewear The new store will stock all manner of high-quality essentials like cotton bedding and towels, soft furnishings, small furniture and quirky ceramics. Trafford Palazzo is already home to one Primark location with the new store adding to the retailers offering on the site. Primark stores usually stock a full range of goods from clothes, to home to holiday essentials. For the first time ever Primark will now stock just homeware in a store. The fashion retailer currently employs over 80,000 people internationally. 2 Primark is known for its budget options and huge range, offering an extensive selection of goods at a low price. The retailer boasts over 460 stores globally with the new Primark Home in Manchester boosting this number further. According to the retailer: " Primark Home combines style, comfort and value to help shoppers make a house a home." Thrilled shoppers took to social media to show their excitement for the new stores launch. One user said: "You've got some great home stuff please make this department bigger and give us trolleys." Another commented: "I need one of everything, and two cushions." A third replied: "We need this store in Kalamazoo Michigan." Why Primark is great for looking expensive on a budget By Clemmie Feildsend, Fabulous Fashion Editor AS someone who's no stranger to grabbing a last-minute outfit from Primark for a night out, it's about time that celebrities started catching on too. For as long as I've been heading out, Primark has been my go-to for those 'I have nothing to wear' moments, rushing in at the last minute to find something perfect. And I'm definitely not alone - on any Friday or Saturday night, you'll find plenty of shoppers doing the same thing, right before closing time. But no matter what, Primark always delivers. Now, Rita Ora is leading the charge, showing that you can snag a designer-worthy look without spending a fortune at high-end stores. While Rita's not rushing in last minute for a red carpet outfit, she's proving you can achieve the same high-impact style for much less. Looking stunning in her tailored suit alongside her mum Vera, Rita fit right in among the other A-listers dripping in Prada, Dior, and Victoria Beckham - if anything, she looked even better than some of the guests at The Fashion Awards. With Myleene Klass and Roxy Horner already jumping on the Primark bandwagon, I'm sure more stars will be following suit soon enough.

Stacey Solomon puts on a very leggy display in a white swimsuit before slipping into a black bikini during Lake Como work trip

Stacey Solomon looked incredible a series of stunning swimwear snaps from her work trip to Lake Como on Wednesday. The busy mum of five, who has jetted to the idyllic location to shoot with her haircare brand REHAB, put on a very leggy display in a white swimsuit while posing with her products on a boat. Stacey then slipped into a skimpy black bikini, and couldn't stop smiling as she soaked up the sun. In another image, the TV personality put on a glamorous display in a plunging purple dress, with a daring thigh-high split. She wrote in the caption: 'What a dream come true. To visit our @rehabyourhair AD (my brand) sunshine spritz factory & launch our shimmer spray. What a beautiful beautiful city. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'With the most breathtaking views everywhere you look. I feel so lucky. And so proud of how far Rehab has come. From Vicky & Lulu's garages to Lake Como. Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts to every single one of you who have supported rehab from the very beginning and are still championing it now. 'It means the absolute world to us & we wouldn't even have the chance to even make our products in places with the special technologies we need without your support. Happy Wednesday everyone.' Stacey has been keeping her 6.1m Instagram followers up to date with her travels with the haircare brand she invested in two years ago. Indeed, the TV star, 35, shares everything on social media, from her life at Pickle Cottage with husband Joe Swash and their children, to her fitness journey. Last year, after documenting her progress in her newly built home gym, Stacey shared an inspirational message with her followers where she embraced her 'hip cushions' and 'boobs which can hold my gym essentials'. After sharing a picture of herself on her Instagram Stories coming back from the gym in a pink T-shirt and leggings, the mother-of-five was inundated with messages from her followers who commented on how great she looked. Stacey, who is mum to Zachary, 17, Leighton, 12, Rex, five, Rose, three and two-year-old Belle, then took to her social media to address the influx of messages she had received. Standing in front of a mirror with some of the comments displayed on screen she said: 'I've had so many lovely messages like this lately, but I thought it was really important to come on here and say when I take the gym clothes off I look like this...' Stacey enjoyed taking in the sights during her downtime The Loose Women panellist hen proceeded to pull her leggings down past her hips and flaunt her unfiltered and non photoshopped body. She added '...Which is also really pretty and a really lovely body and I just feel like it's important to show that.' Pulling a can of deodorant and a hairbrush out from under her breasts, Stacey then joked: 'Don't get me wrong, I've got abs for the first time in my life, but I can still very comfortably lay down on my hip without feeling a thing and when I take my sports bra off, there's still enough weight and length in my boobs to hold my gym essentials. 'Deodorant, a hairbrush, you name it, these babies can hold it! But yeah I just posted that for anyone who might need to see it today or ever.' Stacey then uploaded the video onto her grid and captioned the post: 'Just because I think it's important to see you can have abs (some days) and also have hip cushions and a womb!!! You're perfect & I'm sure the bodies you may aspire to, look different, depending on the day/clothes/hormones/angles. 'I've been consistently going to the gym for nearly a year! Wahoo (I know who I am?) But that means I spend a lot of time in gym wear which is specifically designed to hold you together & support you so you don't get a nipple in the eye on the treadmill! 'So just thought I'd show you my body underneath because I don't think we see it enough. Do what makes you feel good & that you enjoy. Your happiness is the biggest priority'. Fans flocked to her comment section to praise the star for how open and honest she had been. Stacey's trip abroad comes after she suffered some heat recently when her followers turned on her over her ill-judged rant after losing out on a prize at the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards . While she congratulated the winners, Stacey couldn't help but reveal how 'gutted' she was for her team who 'deserved' the award as she declared that they were 'robbed'. Fans claimed Stacey is starting to 'show her true colours' compared to her usual wholesome demeanor and told the BBC presenter to 'grow up' and that she has 'got too big for her boots'. However not everyone agreed and others believed Stacey was being 'refreshingly honest' and was simply just 'disappointed for her team'. In the original video, Stacey fumed: ' We didn't win a BAFTA . And I know I'm supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but, I'll be honest, I'm devastated!. Laughing at her reaction, she continued: 'I'm not handling it very well, I'm not taking it very gracefully - I'm devastated! I'm devastated for our whole team, like I'm so gutted for our team. 'Everyone got dressed up and was really hopeful, I think because they work so hard. It's not an easy show to make, Sort Your Life Out and the team work so hard to make it happen and they so deserve the BAFTA. 'The Sort Your Life Out team deserved a BAFTA and I'm devastated. I'm not saying that everyone else didn't deserve their BAFTAs, they absolutely did. 'People think making TV is really easy and it's not, so everyone deserves recognition. But I'm just gutted for my whole Sort Your Life Out family because I feel like they deserved a BAFTA. I'm gonna say it - I'm gutted!'. Going on to reveal what it takes to make their show, she went on: 'We'll pack up a house and within seven days that house is packed up, into vans, over to a warehouse, laid out on the floor, we go through it meticulously, we make sure it doesn't just get chucked away. 'We donate, we recycle, we resell things. We put it all back and try and put it in systems to help families move forward...' She also gave a shout out to the families who give up their time and open their homes to TV audiences, especially when they run the risk of being judged. Stacey now juggles work on Sort Your Life Out with her family reality show for the BBC as well as her many businesses like REHAB. Stacey's involvement in REHAB Your Hair marks the first time she has ever invested her own money in a business. The star, who rose to fame on The X Factor 15 years ago has amassed a huge fortune after putting name to everything from cleaning products, TV shows, clothing lines and crafts. And after running her business empire from Pickle Cottage in Essex, Stacey's next business move is to head Stateside as it was recently revealed that she is in talks to launch her hugely popular hair brand in the US following its success in the UK.
