How to bet on UCL final: Latest odds, picks and promotions for PSG vs Inter

Daily Mirrora day ago

The Champions League is one of the most popular football events to bet on as PSG take on Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena
The Allianz Arena is set to host a landmark Champions League final as Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan meet in a competitive fixture for the very first time. While these two sides have crossed paths in friendlies before, this marks their debut encounter on the grand European stage.
Both clubs carry impressive European credentials, but tonight's performance is what truly matters. Inter Milan's journey to the final has been underpinned by a solid defensive strategy, although it faced a stern test from Barcelona's potent attack. This highlights the Spanish side's offensive capabilities rather than exposing any significant weaknesses in Inter's defence.
PSG, with their dynamic attacking force led by Ousmane Dembele, present a formidable challenge. Dembele's knack for advancing play and creating scoring opportunities will be crucial as PSG aim to penetrate Inter's sturdy backline.
Inter have demonstrated an impressive ability to make the most of their chances, often outscoring opponents despite having fewer opportunities. This season, they've consistently hit the target, showcasing efficiency and precision when it counts most.

Luis Enrique in brutal Arsenal snub after PSG's Champions League triumph

PSG claimed a historic Champions League triumph after beating Inter Milan on Saturday and boss Luis Enrique was asked who their toughest opponents were along the way - but refused to name Arsenal PSG boss Luis Enrique snubbed Arsenal when naming their toughest opponents in the Champions League this season - after they won the trophy for the first time with a 5-0 hammering of Inter Milan. The Ligue 1 outfit ran riot against the Italian side on Saturday night as Enrique won the competition for the second time in his career. Enrique's men saw off Arsenal across two legs in the semi-finals to reach the showpiece in Munich, beating the Gunners 3-1 on aggregate. ‌ Mikel Arteta's side failed to hit the heights of their famous win over Real Madrid in the previous round - which saw them dump out the reigning champions after a 5-1 aggregate victory. ‌ But against PSG, Arsenal were much more subdued - first losing 1-0 at the Emirates before a 2-1 defeat in Paris. When asked about PSG's biggest obstacles on their way to glory, Enrique mentioned Liverpool and Aston Villa, but failed to namecheck Arsenal. 'There were a few matches this season that tested us," the Spaniard said, talking to CBS Sports. ‌ " Liverpool, for example, made things very difficult, especially in transitions. Aston Villa, too, were one of the more organised sides we came up against." It was a difficult season Arsenal as they finished second without any silverware and ended up 10 points behind Premier League champions Liverpool. ‌ As for PSG, they completed a historic treble - as Enrique pulled off the feat with a second club after Barcelona. The Spaniard admitted he was left "emotional" after the win over Inter after the club's fans paid tribute to his late daughter Xana with a huge tifo of her after her death from cancer in 2019 aged nine. He said: "I'm very happy. It was very emotional at the end with the banner from the fans for my family. But I always think about my daughter. It means a lot. It's so nice but I don't need to win the Champions league to remember my daughter. "My daughter is always with us, especially when we lost. With my family, enjoying everything and trying to get the positives, even in the bad moments."

Matheus Cunha to Man Utd transfer confirmed with £62.5m release clause triggered

Manchester United have completed the signing of Matheus Cunha. United will pay Wolves £62.5million for the Brazilian after triggering the release clause in his contract. Cunha becomes the Red Devils' first signing of a crucial summer transfer window, subject to his visa and registration. The Brazil star is now to head on international duty but was pictured in Manchester on Sunday morning. Upon announcing the deal, United said: "Everyone at Manchester United looks forward to welcoming Matheus to Old Trafford." Cunha's former club meanwhile expressed their gratitude for the forward's time at the club. "Everyone at Wolves would like to thank Matheus for his contributions in old gold and wish he and his family the best of luck for the future," a statement read. Boss Ruben Amorim is desperate to improve his squad after seeing his side finish a dire 15th in the Premier League table. United missed out on qualification for European football having also failed to win a single trophy under the 40-year-old's management. Amorim has prioritised boosting his attacking options this summer, following a dreadful campaign in front of goal. The Red Devils ended up as the fifth-lowest scorers in the top-flight, with Amorim struggling to unlock his side's attack. Cunha will come in as one of the two No.10s in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 system. The 26-year-old starred in Wolves' successful battle to beat relegation to the Championship. He scored 17 goals and add six assists to earn Wolves' Players' Player of the Season award. Cunha himself has already made his happiness at his move north clear. The attacker has hailed his new manager Amorim and backed him to succeed at United despite his difficult start. "Talking about him is easy, I think he's a great coach and I wish him nothing but the best," Cunha told CNN Brasil via Daily Mail. "I hope he conquers the world as he did Portugal." Asked if they could do that together, he added: "Well, God willing, we'll always do our best to help." According to The Athletic, United first offered to pay Cunha's release clause in five instalments. This suggestion was flatly rejected by Wolves, with the Red Devils now agreeing to meet the full terms of the Midlands club's demands. Cunha joined Wolves from RB Leipzig on loan in January 2023 before completing a permanent move for £43m that summer. He previously played for Atletico Madrid, Hertha Berlin and FC Sion, and has been capped 13 times by Brazil. The attacker will be with his new club for the start of pre-season training in July. The move for Cunha has already been backed by legendary United skipper Gary Neville. "Man United are desperate in that position," he told Sky Sports. "You think of what Manchester United are playing now, they've let Jadon Sancho go, they've let (Marcus) Rashford go, they've let Antony go, so three players who are natural players who travel with the ball. "They need someone who can beat players, they need someone who's equally as good running through the middle with the ball and travelling with the ball, and go out wide and support the wing-back. "So he's [Cunha] a type of player that you could see Manchester United being interested in, that would suit this system that Ruben Amorim wants to play."

Rio Ferdinand's life now with luxury move abroad, famous wife and 'health scare'

More info Rio Ferdinand has hung up his hat as a pundit on TNT Sports after the Champions League final, closing a chapter of ten years with the broadcaster. Despite being offered a fresh contract months ago, the ex-Manchester United and England star chose not to renew, earlier announcing it was a "difficult" decision to leave. In his farewell note reported by Wales Online, Ferdinand extended his thanks for the chance to talk football over the last decade, tipping his hat to the behind-the-scenes crew essential for their triumphs. "I want to acknowledge the tremendous support from the team behind the scenes whose hard work often goes unseen but has been essential to our success. To everyone at TNT Sports, we have a brilliant end to the season to look forward to on Saturday and for now all focus will be on what I think could go down as one of the great European finals," Ferdinand remarked. I know I look forward to following its progress and the exciting future that lies ahead." Ferdinand also took a moment to thank his family and New Era, his management firm, for their steadfast support as he travelled across Europe to follow top-tier players and matches, reports the Manchester Evening News. The 46 year old's decision comes after months of speculation about his potential departure from the broadcaster at the end of the season, with rumours hinting at a move abroad with his wife, Kate. Initial whispers suggested that Ferdinand, who has played for United, West Ham, Leeds, and QPR, might be eyeing opportunities in the United States ahead of the 2026 World Cup. However, later reports indicated that he and his wife, a former The Only Way is Essex star, were contemplating a move to Dubai, where they first crossed paths through mutual friends nearly ten years ago. Earlier this year, it was reported that the couple had started looking into properties and schools in Dubai, having decided that the time was right for them and their family to make the move. Ferdinand and his wife share two children, and Kate also plays the role of stepmother to his three children from his previous marriage to Rebecca Ellison, who sadly passed away from cancer in 2015. While Ferdinand has not publicly announced his next career move, it is thought that a potential relocation to the United Arab Emirates would involve regular travel between the UAE and the UK to meet work commitments. Kate is the founder of the online platform Blended. This news follows a health scare that forced him to miss out on covering key European football matches. Ferdinand was poised to cover Arsenal's Champions League match against PSG and lend his expert insights for United's Europa League semi-final with Athletic Bilbao but was instead hospitalised due to a crippling virus. Speaking candidly on 'Rio Ferdinand Presents', he recounted the harrowing experience that left him in fear for his life, battling severe migraines, vertigo, and extreme vomiting. "I had a mad virus," shared Ferdinand. "I thought lights were out at some point, I thought it was gonna happen. I thought I was minutes away from lights out, seriously." In narrating the terrible incident, he explained, "I was in my house, I was in my bed like this [pained expression] and I couldn't even open my eyes. Then, the headache I had... I don't get migraines or nothing else so I don't know what they're like. I thought my head was in a vice and my eyes were going to pop out. "Then, I was being sick, projectile vomiting in the toilet, I got back to bed and I was having vertigo," he added, "I was holding onto the sheets, I didn't know where I was. It was crazy." The situation took an alarming turn as medical professionals considered a brain scan, following Ferdinand's earlier offer of an ambulance to expedite his journey to the hospital. "I had to go to hospital and the doctor even said to me, 'Do you want an ambulance?' So that's when I knew," he disclosed. "He went, 'We're going to get your brain scanned'. I thought it was a virus or a flu or something so when he mentioned brain scan and the ambulance, the panic was nuts. "I went to hospital and I was in there for a few days. I couldn't even enjoy the hospital food. The soup and the ice cream normally does wonders."
