As part of the international enforcement effort, dubbed
Operation Deep Sentinel
, German police led the charge with support from Europol and
Eurojust
. Other countries that collaborated in the effort included Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Sweden and the US.
Investigators in the Netherlands dismantled the site's infrastructure, while Spanish authorities arrested a 30-year-old German national suspected of being its administrator in Barcelona, said Bleeping Computer, adding one moderator and six of the most active vendors were apprehended in Germany and Sweden.
"With this takedown, law enforcement has taken out one of the dark web's longest-running drug markets, cutting off a major supply line for some of the world's most dangerous substances. By dismantling its infrastructure and arresting its key players, we are sending a clear message: there is no safe haven for those who profit from harm," said Jean-Philippe Lecouffe, Europol's deputy executive director of operations.
The operation led to the seizure of 47 smartphones, 45 computers, narcotics, and assets valued at 7.8 million euros, marking a significant crackdown on dark web

Two-time World Series champ takes bold stand against Donald Trump's immigration policy amid California protests
Kike Hernandez lashes out at Trump's 'violating' immigration stance (Getty Images) As protests continue to surge across California in response to the controversial immigration crackdowns, Los Angeles Dodgers veteran Kiké Hernández has stepped forward with a powerful message. In a heartfelt statement, the Puerto Rican-born baseball star criticized Donald Trump's handling of the situation, expressing solidarity with immigrant communities facing what he described as ongoing 'violation' and 'abuse.' Donald Trump's immigration crackdown blasted by MLB star as 'abuse' of power Over the past two weeks, Trump's administration has drawn heavy backlash for deploying masked federal agents across California, arresting and deporting individuals without due process. The sweeping arrests sparked an outpouring of protests statewide. Rather than de-escalating tensions, Trump doubled down by sending the National Guard—bypassing California Governor Gavin Newsom, who was neither informed nor consulted about the action. Among the many speaking out, Hernández has emerged as one of the first high-profile athletes to directly address the growing crisis. He took to Instagram to reflect on his 12 years living in the U.S. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo and his deep ties to Los Angeles, where he's spent over seven years with the Dodgers. 'I may not be born and raised here, but this city adopted me as one of their own. I am so sad and enraged by everything that is happening in the country and in our city,' he shared. 'Los Angeles and Dodger fans have welcomed me, supported me, and shown me nothing but kindness and love. This is my second home.' His frustration didn't end there. In an unfiltered show of support for the immigrant community, he added, 'I cannot tolerate watching our community continue to be violated, attacked, abused, and torn apart. All people deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, and their human rights. I stand with you #CityOfImmigrants.' Just two months earlier, Hernández and his teammates had visited the White House following their World Series win. That visit took a strange turn when Trump asked star pitcher Shohei Ohtani to pose with the Declaration of Independence—an odd moment that now feels more surreal given the tense political backdrop. Meanwhile, Governor Gavin Newsom didn't hold back when voicing concern over Trump's recent behavior. Speaking with FOX News, Newsom stated, 'He is not the same person that I dealt with just four years ago. He is incapable of even a train of thought. He's making things up and he's putting people lives at risk.' As tensions between California's leadership and the federal government escalate, Trump remains defiant. 'We made a great decision in sending the National Guard to deal with the violent, instigated riots in California,' he declared. With the nation watching closely, voices like Hernández's are increasingly important in amplifying the concerns of communities that feel unheard and unprotected. Meghalaya honeymoon murder: Sonam Raghuvanshi declared mentally sound, crime scene recreation next
SHILLONG/INDORE: Sonam Raghuvanshi, who is in custody for the murder of her husband, Raja, was taken to Meghalaya Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences on Monday for a mental health assessment and was found mentally sound in a psychiatric examination, police sources said. In Indore, Sonam's brother Govind said he has been summoned for questioning by Shillong police. The couple from Indore were honeymooning in Sohra last month when Raja was murdered. Sonam and four other accused — all from outside Meghalaya — remain in police custody as investigations continue. Authorities plan to take the five suspects to Sohra on Tuesday to recreate the crime scene, police sources said. A local court had initially granted eight-day police remand on June 11 to facilitate further investigation. Police are likely to seek extension of custody. In Indore, over 2,200km away, the 'tehrvi' (13th-day death ritual) for Raja was held at his home on Monday, attended by only close family and relatives, including Govind. 'Shillong police have called me for questioning. They said I need to give a statement and sign it,' he said. Raja's other brother, Sachin, said that the family had prepared all of Raja's favourite dishes for the ritual, including gulab jamun, Manchurian, noodles, dal-chawal, dry fruits, bananas, and papaya. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Play Chess on Your PC, Free Play Classic Chess Install Now Undo 'We are not organising it like a typical tehrvi for a natural death; only family members are participating,' Sachin added. The Raghuvanshi family continues to grapple with unanswered questions. 'The same question keeps coming to our minds: why did Sonam got her husband murdered just days after their wedding?' said Sachin, wondering if anyone apart from the five accused was also involved. The family has demanded a narco analysis test of all five accused.

Supreme Court: Bank can't revalue gold once loan repaid
Supreme Court (Photo: ANI) NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has ruled that a bank cannot re-evaluate gold pledged against a loan after it is repaid and restored the FIR/chargesheet against bank officials, which was lodged by the borrower alleging that they did not return the ornaments on ground that those were found to be fake. A bench of Justices Sanjay Karol and Manoj Misra said in a judgment last week, "It is true that the appellant (Abhishek Singh) repaid the amount, but with substantial delay. However, once the loan is settled, it is difficult to understand as to why the gold was revalued and auctioned." Singh had taken a loan of Rs 7.7 lakh from the Motijheel branch of Bank of India in Bihar on July 22, 2020, after pledging 254gm of 22-carat gold ornaments as security. He repaid the loan on March 31, 2023. However, when he demanded the ornaments back, the bank told him that when he had not paid, back the loan with interest on time, the ornaments were re-evaluated and were found to be fake. As he had not repaid the loan amount at the time of revaluation, the gold-plated ornaments were confiscated and auctioned. The bank also lodged an FIR against Singh for cheating on May 22, 2023. Singh too lodged an FIR accusing the bank officials of misappropriating the gold ornaments. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo The bank officials challenged registration of the FIR against them before Patna high court (HC), which quashed it, saying the FIR was a counter to the FIR lodged against them by the bank. Singh appealed before Supreme Court. Faulting the high court for quashing the FIR against bank officials, the top court said, "The discussion made by the high court in quashing the FIR in no way addresses the possibility of the respondents' possible involvement in the misappropriation of the gold pledged." Writing the judgment, Justice Karol said, "At all times, the appellant had no access to the gold which, after its initial valuation, was always kept in the safe custody of the bankers. Fraud, if any, whether perpetrated at the first instance of valuation or later, is a matter which could be unearthed only after a trial based on the evidence led by the parties." "But, as of now, in no circumstances, it can be said that no prima facie case regarding commission of an offence, as alleged in the FIR, is made out from its perusal." The court ordered the bank officials to face trial in the case lodged by Singh.
