AN English seaside holiday park has revealed plans to open a new JD Wetherspoon pub.
The Haven holiday park near Prestatyn will be getting a new Wetherspoon pub called The Boathouse pub.

The design, according to the architects planning the site, will prioritise "natural light" and an "eco-conscious design".
It hasn't been confirmed when it will open.
Last January, Haven signed an exclusive agreement with JD Wetherspoon to operate at its parks.
New Wetherspoons pubs will open at sites in Devon, Lincolnshire, Kent and Northumberland by the end of 2025, costing a total investment of £6.7million.

The first JD Wetherspoon pub at a Haven park opened at Haven Primrose Valley Holiday Park in North Yorkshire last spring.
The planning statement said: "This development not only supports the resort's growth but also reinforces our commitment to sustainability and accessibility, ensuring that Presthaven Beach Resort remains a premier destination for leisure and relaxation.
"We believe this extension will contribute significantly to the local economy and community, fostering an inviting atmosphere that attracts both new and returning guests."
The Haven holiday park is home to a heated indoor pool, outdoor lazy river, bungee trampolines, a climbing wall, crazy golf course and a 'jump tower'.

There are also miles of sandy beaches and protected dunes full of rare wildlife.
There are range of other places to eat at too, including Chopstix, Burger King, Cook's Fish and Chips and Papa Johns.

Away from the holiday park itself, the seaside town of Llandudno is nearby and features an array of shops and arcades - especially on the town's 19th century pier.

L.A. has never been exactly renowned for its public transit, but Metro is working overtime to change that—specifically in time for next year's FIFA World Cup, the 2027 Super Bowl and, of course, the 2028 Olympics. One huge step in the right direction? Starting today, June 6, access to the Los Angeles International Airport —one of the busiest airports in the country—will become more streamlined, thanks to the LAX/Metro Transit Center, the ambitious new station Angelenos have long been asking for. In the words of L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, today marks the 'beginning of a new era in our city.' And to celebrate the big opening, rides across the entire Metro system—rail lines, buses, Metro Bike Share and rideshare service Metro Micro—are free from Friday through Sunday. The LAX/Metro Transit Center officially opened to mariachi music and remarks from city leaders including Mayor Bass, Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts, Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins and Metro Board Chair Janice Hahn, who joked that the nine most terrifying words in the English language are 'Hey, can you give me a ride to LAX?' Here's hoping the new station means fielding fewer of those dreaded requests from your friends. LAX/Metro Transit Center Station rail and bus connections The new station, located at 9225 Aviation Boulevard, closes the final gap in the K Line, which will now run directly from Expo/Crenshaw to Redondo Beach—the airport-adjacent center fills a gap in that line that used to require you to take a bus to continue south. And it's the new terminus of the C line, which starts in Norwalk (it also connects the C and K lines—an added benefit). If you live along the C or K lines, the station is a godsend for airport visits. But if you don't live in, say, Inglewood or Downey, will this benefit you? Well, as you can see in the map below, these lines also intersect with other lines, meaning that with just one transfer, you can find yourself on a train bound for the airport. The A line (Azusa to Long Beach) allows you to transfer to the C line, and the E line, which reaches all the way from Santa Monica through Downtown and into East L.A., meets up with the K line, meaning those riders can also map a car-free route to LAX. (Though from Santa Monica and Downtown, there are buses that can probably get you to the station more directly and quickly.) In addition to the two light rail lines stopping at the station, the LAX/Metro Transit Center will also serve 14 bus lines—including six Metro bus lines and partner lines including the Big Blue Bus, Culver CityBus, Torrance Transit, GTrans and Beach Cities—with 16 bays for bus transfers. The station will also offer a Metro Micro bay. What about the Automated People Mover? Now, once you've done all the mental navigation and actual navigation of getting to the LAX/Metro Transit Center with your luggage in tow, unfortunately you're not done yet. That's when you'll need to board a free Los Angeles World Airports shuttle to LAX, which will run every 10 minutes and deposit you at your terminal. That's not a bad solution, but it's a placeholder until the long-awaited Automated People Mover is ready—which is projected to finally open in early 2026 (though you can see it doing some test runs through the station now). When that glorious day arrives, the APM will allow travelers to step onto elevated, entirely electric train cars and bypass traffic on their way to the terminals. While the idea has been decades in the making, actual construction on the nearly $900-million project began in 2021, and it's the eighth completed project in Metro's ambitious Twenty-Eight by '28 initiative—which is prioritizing projects that will provide more connectivity to major sports venues for the city's upcoming 'car-free' Olympics. The entire site of the station is approximately 500,000 square feet (the size of almost nine football fields). It boasts 11 elevators, 12 escalators and nine staircases where you can access the bus bays on the ground level or ascend and then descend to the concourse, where you'll find the light rail trains. The MTC will be able to accommodate up to 5,000 passengers an hour. While there aren't dining and shopping options like you'll find in some cities' major transit stations, there are public restrooms, a customer service center and automated storage for 50 bikes. The visual centerpiece is an origami-like spiral sculpture, 'The Distance of the Sun,' by L.A. native artist Glenn Kaino that hangs above the escalators. Elsewhere in the station, digital displays depict 18 poignant portraits of Metro riders created by local artists. There's still more work to be done, but the LAX/Metro Transit Center is an impressive achievement that the city and its residents can be proud of. Any step toward making the airport experience a bit easier and connecting the disparate parts of L.A. is a huge win.

Both bosses at Dundee and United can expect to come under quick pressure if they don't get recruitment right in the coming weeks. Many Dundee fans are angry at the appointment of Steven Pressley, and even with last season's success, there's still a section of United supporters lukewarm about Jim Goodwin. It was always thus in football with fickle fans. But with both squads currently paper thin, the pressure could mount sharply if decent signings aren't forthcoming. We'll find out soon enough just how attractive the city clubs are to the kind of players who could boost their prospects next season. How great will the lure of European football at Tannadice prove; and how tempting might the prospect be of working with Steven Pressley as manager and with a technical director like Gordon Strachan, at Dens? Both clubs face major rebuilds; Dundee have just twelve signed players while United have had 16 departures, so a host of new faces will soon be on view. With a wafer thin squad of his own, Jim Goodwin's renovation project will be extensive, with players required in all positions, and a first deal now set to be done for Moldovan defender Iurie Iovu. Repeating another top four finish while restructuring the personnel that achieved it last season will be a major challenge. Arabs and Dees will hope their clubs are on the ball and that player identification to rebuild for the new season is already well advanced. Football is fluid and new targets and potential signings often emerge suddenly, so while a range of targets will undoubtedly have been identified at both clubs, there's also the prospect of new signing opportunities appearing as the squads are revamped. United fans, whatever they think of the departed Glenn Middleton, will recognise that when the Tannadice coffers can't compete with those of Doncaster Rovers, then attracting quality is no easy task, and that applies 100 metres up the street too. That means the powers of persuasion and the personal contacts of those in charge must be worked to the max to lure at least the same calibre of loan players who proved successful last season. Both clubs will have to find unique selling points to attract some targets, because if it comes down to purely a cash contest, neither can compete with many third and in some cases fourth tier English clubs. I've seen some United fans say that Middleton should have stayed for the challenge of Europe, but at 25, while he's hardly Methuselah, a player at that stage maybe has only another two decent contracts in front of him. Weighed against the prospect of possibly a very short European campaign, I wouldn't blame any professional for putting the mortgage first. The youth academies at both clubs will hopefully continue to supplement the recruitment of loan players and other signings. Each team has lost talismen; notably Lyall Cameron at Dens and goal machine Sam Dalby at Tannadice. Replacing that quality will rigorously test recruitment strategies. As for Pressley's appointment, Dundee supporters should rally round and support him. He deserves a fair crack of the whip to see what his team looks like and what he's trying to build before fans rush to judgement.
