You can start testing Xbox's new Copilot chatbot in the mobile app right now

It was only a matter of time, but Microsoft is now bringing Copilot to Xbox. The company is beginning to roll out a beta for Copilot for Gaming to the Xbox app on Android and iOS. If you have the beta version of the Xbox app installed on your phone, you can begin testing out this new feature starting today.
Like any chatbot, Copilot for Gaming will allow you to ask various questions, providing answers, as well as links to more information if a response includes web sources. However, this chatbot is designed explicitly for answering your gaming-related queries. According to Microsoft, this early version of the AI can answer questions on the game you're playing, your Xbox activity, your account, and your play history and achievements. You'll also be able to use it to provide recommendations on what you should play next.
To demonstrate what questions you could ask, Microsoft provided the following examples: If you want to ask questions about a specific game or the game you're currently playing. 'Hey Copilot, can you remind me what materials I need to craft a sword in Minecraft?'
If you want game recommendations. 'I love horror movies. Any suggestions for what game I should play?'
If you have a question about your play history or account. 'Hey Copilot, what's the rarest achievement you can get in Avowed?'
While these will be Copilot for Gaming's initial capabilities, it will gain more functions at an unspecified later date. Microsoft says that it's working on bringing 'deeper personalization' and 'richer game assistance' like proactive coaching.
If you're interested in trying out Copilot for Gaming, the early test is being rolled out in 53 markets, including the US, Japan, Canada, Australia, Argentina, and more. However, you'll need to be 18, and it's only available in English. You can download the Android version of the beta Xbox app on the Google Play Store. If you don't already have the beta version of the Xbox app on iOS, Microsoft says you'll still be able to get in on early testing when Copilot for Gaming comes to Game Bar on Windows PC.

Karate Kid: Legends, starring Ralph Macchio, Jackie Chan and Ben Wang, is new in theaters. When will it be available to stream at home? Rated PG-13, Karate Kid: Legends is the sixth film in the action franchise, which began with The Karate Kid in 1984 starring Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, Noriyuki 'Pat' Morita as Mr. Miyagi, William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence and Martin Kove as John Kreese. Currently, the only way you can see Karate Kid: Legends is in theaters, so check your local listings for showtimes. When Karate Kid: Legends arrives on the home entertainment scene, its first stop will be on digital streaming via premium video on demand. Sony Picture Entertainments, which is the studio behind Karate Kid: Legends, generally has a one-month to six-week window between the time its films open in theaters and arrive on PVOD. For example, Sony's Venom: The Last Dance opened in theaters on Oct. 25, 2024, and debuted on PVOD about six weeks later on Dec. 10. More recently, however, Sony's horror thriller Until Dawn opened in theaters on April 25 and debuted just under a month later on PVOD on May 23. If Karate Kid: Legends follows the same one-month to six-week release pattern as the above-mentioned titles, then viewers can expect the film to debut on PVOD anytime between July 1 and July 15 since new film releases on PVOD typically come out on Tuesdays. Generally, PVOD titles are available for purchase or rent on such digital platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube. Since Sony Pictures Entertainment has a deal in place with the platform for its streaming video on demand debuts, Karate Kid: Legends will first appear on Netflix. Typically it takes three to four months from the time a Sony film opens in theaters to the time it arrives on Netflix. For example, Venom: The Last Dance, which opened in theaters on Oct. 25, 2024, and arrived on Netflix four months later, on Feb. 25. More recently, the Sony horror thriller Heart Eyes, which opened in theaters on Feb. 7, made its debut on Netflix just over three months later on May 8. If Karate Kid: Legends follows the same three- to four-month release pattern, then viewers can expect the film to arrive on Netflix anytime between Aug. 29 and Sept. 26. Burglars break through Glendale jewelry store roof and steal $2 million worth of valuables
A family-owned jewelry store in Glendale is cleaning up the mess left behind by a group of burglars that broke through its roof and stole millions of dollars worth of valuables. "They had come in from the ceiling," owner Manial Bidrussian said. "They cleaned us out." The burglars broke through the jewelry store's roof at roughly 1 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Glendale Police Department. Once inside, they ransacked the shop and started drilling into Bidrussian's safe. However, the heat from the drill ignited some ammunition that Bidrussian stored in the shop's safe. "They cleaned all of our safes out," Bidrussian said. "They cleaned everything, and they made it into a warzone. As I've been telling everybody else, it's like a battle, a war happened in here." Bidrussian said his parents started the business in 1980. "My mom and my dad, they passed it down to me," he said. "I was running it for 23 years. It's a 45-year business ... That Tuesday morning, life changed for all of us." It's unclear how much the burglars stole and damaged, but Bidrussian believes it's around $2 million. Police have not released a description of the suspects.
