16 Jun - Jane Zhang has recently decided to address the issue regarding her concert poster, following the backlash it received from fans. As reported on Sohu, netizens recently criticised the poster of Jane's upcoming tour, "Chase", with many saying that the poster was "too ugly". It prompted a staff member to scold fans over the criticisms and a subsequent apology from Jane's studio for the staff's behaviour. On 13 June, Jane decided to address the criticism against the poster, saying, "The tour is called "Chase." Electric light and flint symbolise speed, a speed I desire but have never quite reached. But there's another kind of speed. Quantity. Every single thing I've accomplished over the past 20 years is the speed I already possess." "I used to have this habit of taking a picture of the veins in my eyes with my phone after pulling an all-nighter. The veins makeup effect on my eyes and forehead is what I wanted to do many years ago but never did. It is drawn by myself according to the real veins on my face. I guess it's "proof" of the effort I've put in over the past 20 years. Otherwise, how else could I have caught up to the person I am today?" she continued. As for the poster, which many said to be "scary", Jane said that it was how she interpreted her 20-year career in the industry. "Maybe I'm not someone with a strong sense of aesthetic "beauty" and it's totally okay if some people don't like it. I don't think the poster's direction is conventionally beautiful, but that doesn't stop me from thinking it's cool. After all, it represents 20 years of my journey. Every single thing I've completed is a report card I earned with my heart. I still feel proud," she added. However, Jane said that she did shoot a new poster as her fans' happiness still matters. "Dee Girls' Talk" co-host Patrick Liu wishes Dee Hsu a happy birthday
16 Jun - As Dee Hsu celebrated her birthday in private, her show co-host Patrick Liu recently posted a photo of them together to wish the TV personality a happy birthday. The photo, shared on Threads on 14 June, seemed to be an old photo of Dee and Patrick, where Dee smiled warmly to the camera while Patrick made a victory gesture with his one hand and another wrapped around her shoulder. He added a birthday cake, a white heart and a tumbler glass emoji. Patrick said through his rep that he did send his regards to Dee, saying, "After all, she is still resting, so it is hard to arrange a birthday party, but we hope she can return as soon as possible on the show." He also sincerely hoped that Dee would be in good health, adding, "Thank you for bringing me warmth and bringing joy to everyone." It was last month that the producers of "Dee Girls' Talk" revealed that the TV host is expected to return in the second half of the year after taking an indefinite break following sister Barbie Hsu's passing. She also posted a message on social media back in May, saying, "[Barbie], I really need to pull myself together now. Because mum misses you so much. I miss you so much. Bai Lu wants a break from fantasy drama
16 Jun - Although she is praised for her performance in the latest fantasy drama, "Feud", Bai Lu recently admitted that she would like to step back from the xianxia (fantasy) genre for the time being. The actress recently spoke candidly in a media interview that she feels a lot of pressure and fatigue from starring in multiple fantasy dramas like "Moonlight Mystique", "Mo Li", to "Till the End of the Moon", and that she is worried that the audience will feel fatigued as well. "My last project was also a xianxia drama, so I was especially worried about it feeling repetitive," she said. The actress said that she does realise that the production team put great care into everything and that she is thankful for their hard work. However, after an extended period of filming, Bai Lu said that what she needs most right now is "a break to recharge."
