Turkiye launches 53 strikes in 24 hours in Kurdistan's Duhok
Shafaq News/ Turkish forces carried out 53 air and artillery strikes over the past 24 hours on Mount Gara in Al-Amadiya district, northern Duhok province, the Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT) organization reported on Monday.
The member of the organization's Kurdish team Kamaran Osman told Shafaq News that the villages of Mazi, Kafna Mazi, Spindari, and Karkashi were directly targeted, despite a unilateral ceasefire declared by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

'Turkish forces have launched 118 air and artillery attacks across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq since the PKK's ceasefire announcement, including 85 airstrikes, 21 artillery bombardments, and 10 helicopter assaults,' he revealed, noting that while the pace of attacks has dropped by 21% compared to January and February, the continued bombardment still poses a direct threat to local residents and agricultural land.
Abdullah Öcalan, the imprisoned leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), called in late February 2025 for the group to lay down its arms and dissolve. This announcement marked a potential turning point in the decades-long conflict between the PKK and the Turkish state. Turkiye has continued conducting cross-border strikes despite Öcalan's call for a ceasefire and peaceful resolution.
Residents of the targeted villages have been displaced for more than two years amid ongoing clashes between the Turkish military and PKK militants.
Eyewitnesses reported that PKK fighters are using abandoned civilian homes for shelter in targeted villages, he pointed out.
Earlier today, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced on X seizing weapons and survival supplies from a cave in the Operation Claw-Lock zone.

Since October 7, 2023, about 90% of Gaza's population—around 1.9 million people—have been displaced, many multiple times. Most of Gaza's territory is now either militarized or under displacement orders, with severe shortages of shelter supplies. The entire population faces acute food insecurity, with over a million people in 'Emergency' hunger phase and nearly 470,000 people in famine conditions, according to the IPC classification. Markets have seen essential items disappear, while 14,100 children under five are at risk of severe acute malnutrition. The World Health Organization warns that Gaza's health system is near total collapse, with only 38% of health facilities partially functional and hospitals at risk of shutdown due to attacks and access restrictions. North Gaza has nearly no healthcare capacity remaining. Critical medical supplies are dwindling rapidly. Humanitarian aid access remains severely restricted despite international appeals, with Israel's blockade and security restrictions limiting entry of vital food, water, and medicine. UN agencies such as UNRWA have faced prolonged bans on bringing in supplies. Beyond food and medical care, there are widespread shortages of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, compounding health risks and disease spread. Journalists in Gaza have also paid a heavy price, with more than 130 media workers killed since October 7, many of them Palestinian reporters. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 54,880 Palestinians have been killed and 126,227 injured. Many more victims remain trapped under rubble or in inaccessible areas, with some UN reports suggesting the real toll may be even higher.

Gunmen target Israeli outpost in southern Syria
Shafaq News/ On Sunday, armed assailants opened fire on an Israeli military outpost in southern Syria before fleeing the area, in the latest cross-border incident near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The Golan Heights, internationally recognized as Syrian territory, has been occupied and later annexed by Israel since the 1967 and 1981 wars—a move not recognized by any country except the United States. According to local media outlet Daraa 24, the attack targeted the al-Jazeera outpost, located in Daraa province. Two gunmen riding a motorcycle reportedly approached from a nearby mortar launch point and opened fire, then escaped, though their identities remain unknown. Israeli forces returned fire indiscriminately toward civilian homes in the village, with no casualties or damage reported. A similar incident occurred on June 7, when unidentified individuals on motorcycles neared a checkpoint near the same outpost before retreating, prompting Israeli troops to open fire in response.
