Lip Reader Catches Kate Middleton and Prince William Playing Secret Game with Their Kids During Very Public Moment
It's been a jam-packed week for the royal family as they marked the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (VE Day), which commemorates the end of WWII in Europe on May 8, 1945. From a visit to the Tower of London to view a new ceramic poppy installation, to a service of thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey and even a VE Day concert at Horse Guards Parade, it's safe to say the royals have been booked and busy.
One of the most heartwarming moments from the commemorations came on Monday, when Prince William and Princess Kate were joined by their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis—at a military procession. And it turns out they were also having a little fun behind the scenes.
Toby Melville -According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, who spoke with Hello!, Prince William helped keep the kids engaged during the formal event by turning the aircraft flyover into a guessing game.
According to Nicola, Kate was spotted asking George, 'What is this, George?' as a plane flew overhead. George hesitated, replying, 'Errr that's erm a… I can't see it yet.' Louis then chimed in, 'It's my turn!'
George eventually identified the aircraft as an Atlas and William leaned toward Queen Camilla to share. 'That's the Atlas, you know,' he reportedly said, adding, 'That's the Poseidon—they are the air fighters.'
Aaron Chown -According to Nicola, the Queen was seen joining in with the guessing game, with William responding to her, "It's the wrong answer." Laughing, she quipped, 'Are we playing this still? I need to try harder.' William then clued her in explaining, 'That's a UKMFTS. That's similar to the Lancaster, I think.'
All in all, it was a sweet and surprisingly relatable moment for a family so often seen through a formal lens—proof that even royal parents use games to keep their kids entertained.

This reporting was then covered in the Daily Mail, at which point—per the Daily Beast—it "flew around royal friends' WhatsApp groups" where reactions were "dismissive and flabbergasted." A friend of Prince William's spoke to the outlet and claimed that "William obviously isn't going to hire Archie and Lilibet. This is just trolling on the part of Harry and Meghan. It's actually hilarious that no one even noticed it for ten days, until the Mail did it. The idea that somehow having a vestigial HRH as a baby later entitles you to be a working royal is beyond parody, even for them. Harry and Meghan were asked by the queen to stop using their HRHs, and agreed. Obviously, any reasonable person would understand that would mean your kids don't use them either. The simple fact is that Meghan has gone back on the deal by using her HRH. It's a straightforward betrayal of the deal, and if she now intends to start parading the kids as HRHs to aggrandize herself, it just adds to the case to remove them, legally, altogether." Meanwhile, a second friend added that "They have asked the Sussexes politely to stop using the style, to no avail, so I imagine William will simply issue new letters patent to formally remove the entire family's right to use HRH when he becomes king. It will likely be presented as part of a wider tidying up exercise to reduce, more broadly, the number of HRHs in circulation. He could, for example, say that only working royals are entitled to use HRH, which seems sensible if you are trying to modernize, or specify that only children of the monarch are HRH, not the grandchildren, which would have the added advantage of making things clearer for their own kids' families in due course.' Oh, and a former courtier notes that "Charles may not want this fight, but William despises Harry and Meghan at this stage, and when he is king his fury will rain down on them." Mmmkay!

Kate Middleton had a firm command for her youngest son, Prince Louis, during Saturday's Trooping the Colour ceremony, according to a lip reader. The Princess of Wales, 43, looked radiant as she stood beside her husband, Prince William, and their three children during King Charles' official birthday celebrations. "Well, that's a wrap on Masters of the Universe. It has been an honor shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He Man," Galitzine, 30, wrote on Instagram Sunday. "It's been the role of a lifetime and I put everything into it. There's not much I can show you, but I am so proud of the movie we've made. Thanks to our amazing cast and crew for all your hard work." Travis Knight -- whose credits include Kubo and the Two Strings and Bumblebee -- is directing the live-action movie about sword-carrying superheroes for Mattel and Amazon MGM Studios.
