Cowboys 1st Look In Photos at 'Goodfellas' Lamb and Pickens Eye '1,000-Yard Club'
Coach Brian Schottenheimer has a chance to oversee an offense that can produce two 1,000-yard receivers in his new and hopefully improved offense with the Dallas Cowboys.
The talent is here.
So is the challenge.

During the five-year Mike McCarthy era, Dallas had high-powered offenses at times but never had two 1,000-yard receivers in the same season.
The last time the Cowboys had two receivers eclipse 1,000 yards during the same season was in 2019 with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup.
But now?
With CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens now in the fold, the Dallas wide receiver room looks poised to once again challenge itself toward accomplishing the feat.
Prior to trading for Pickens, the Cowboys had a clear need for a dangerous No. 2 receiver that would take some of the load off the shoulders of Lamb.
With the deal done, the "Goodfellas'' - as Pickens labeled the pair on social media - are trying to change the way the pecking order is considered.

"Oh no, we're both 1's," Lamb said last weekend. "It ain't no A/B, none of that, it's 1, you look over there you see 1, you look over here, you see another 1. So do what you gotta do with that."
To Lamb's point, we got our first look at Lamb and Pickens on the field with QB Dak Prescott on Tuesday with CowboysCountry.com's Mike Fisher positioned inside The Star ... and with Pickens donning a No. 13 jersey.
How did it all look?
Here's Dak and his weapons ...
And here's Pickens during and after a hard day's work ...
Pickens certainly has an argument to being a No. 1 receiver in his own right as he steadily improved each of his three seasons in Pittsburgh despite questionable quarterback play and a scheme that maybe didn't fit his skillset. (Oh, and his own behavioral issues.)

In Dallas, Pickens will be playing with the best quarterback he has played with in his young career with Pro Bowler Dak Prescott at the helm.
Lamb and Pickens - as was the case at OTAs on Tuesday - will feed off each other's presence as both will see more one-on-one matchups resulting in opposing defenses being in a pick your poison scenario.
The look? So far, so good. And maybe a lot a combined yardage in the "Goodfellas'' future.

Cowboys offense ready Dak Prescott MVP 2025 case
Cowboys offense ready Dak Prescott MVP 2025 case originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Louis Riddick isn't wrong. When the well-known scouting mind says that a lot does have to go right for a quarterback to win MVP. … and then suggests those things won't happen for the 2025 Dallas Cowboys? Advertisement We get it. Riddick, speaking specifically about Prescott's 2025 chances, noted that George Pickens averages over 16 yards per catch, CeeDee Lamb is 'fantastic,' but still, there's 'just a lot that has to go right for them to have a winning season.' Fair. But the part Riddick left out is the most important one: when Dak Prescott is healthy, things usually do go right. In 2023, the last time Prescott played a full season, he finished as the league's MVP runner-up. That version of the Cowboys offense was held together by smoke and CeeDee Lamb — with a less than ideal run game and a limited arsenal of weaponry around him. That won't be the case in 2025 on at least one of those fronts, but likely both. Advertisement Now, he has George Pickens opposite Lamb, an improved offensive line with Tyler Guyton in year two and another first-round rookie, Tyler Booker added to the mix. The interior of the Cowboys offensive line all of a sudden looks like a strength again. Then on top of that, a restructured run game that's designed to actually give defenses something to worry about will take heat off the QB. Dak said it best. 'It's really hard to double-team two guys,' he noted in review of his planned 2025 weapons. And it's even harder to double team two guys, stop the run, and outsmart a quarterback who's seen every coverage the league has to offer. Advertisement Prescott's MVP window moving forward will now be built on balance and offensive multiplicity, unlike years past. When you pair that with elite pre-snap command, don't be surprised if 2025 looks a lot like 2023 ... just slightly more physical. And if Dallas as a team wins enough games? The team's centerpiece will again be in the MVP conversation. Browns' Shedeur Sanders Reveals One Stunning Takeaway from Tom Brady Conversation
Browns' Shedeur Sanders Reveals One Stunning Takeaway from Tom Brady Conversation originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Cleveland Browns' quarterback Shedeur Sanders is in uniform at at work, officially beginning an NFL journey overcast with controversy following the draft. Sanders was projected to go on Day 1 or at worst early Day 2, but fell to the fifth round. Advertisement Now that all the debates and prank call hysteria has become a matter of the past, Sanders' focus now turns to making an impression on the Browns' coaching staff. He technically enters the league as QB5 on the depth chart and will have to work his way up if he wants to see the field. For a player with such an intense microscope on his every move, there is a lot of pressure coming from different sides here. Sanders somehow has to overcome the odds facing all late-round picks while proving he was actually deserving of an earlier selection. And in these times he is turning to trusted mentorship to guide him forward as Tom Brady reached out with some words for the young quarterback. When Sanders was asked about that conversation, he relayed a key takeaway that will certainly stir some strong opinions. "My story is gonna be similar," he said. 'I was a late-round draft pick, but we're here now so none of that stuff matters. I'm just excited to be here and ready to work. Advertisement Brady's role as a mentor for Sanders has been apparent for some time and the young quarterback's slide will forever connect them as Day 3 afterthoughts. But the comparison to No. 12 turns heads here. It's not an direct connection, but Sanders will start his career much like Brady in being an underdog that will have to climb his way up the totem pole. The future Hall of Famer has loads of experiences to call back on and bestow upon the rookie. However, unlike Brady, all aspects of Sanders' early career will come with great levels of scrutiny that some of the league's established stars have not yet seen.
