Air France Launches New Riyadh-Paris Direct Flight Services

Gulf Insider18-03-2025

Air France announced the launch of direct flights between Riyadh and Paris.
The new flight services will commence from May 20, and will significantly enhance connectivity between the two cities, the airline said.
Besides offering customers direct flights to Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, the new flight service will also enable fliers access to over 190 destinations across the carrier's global network, it said.
The Riyadh-Paris service will commence with three flights a week from May 20, with the frequency to be increased to five flights a week from June, which will be maintained throughout the summer season, the airline said.
Stefan Gumuseli, General Manager, Air France – KLM India and the Middle East, said with a positive growth outlook, Saudi Arabia continues to be a key market for the Air France-KLM group.
'This new route, along with KLM's existing services to Riyadh and Dammam, highlights our commitment to expanding our presence in Saudi Arabia,' he said.
Gumuseli said Riyadh and Paris are strategic hubs for both business and leisure travel, and the airline is happy to provide more travel options between these two cities, and the world via its hub Paris, Charles de Gaulle.
'Further this development will also strengthen the existing partnership between Air France and Saudia Airlines,' he said.
The Riyadh–Paris route will be operated by the Airbus A350-900, offering 324 seats – 34 in Business, 24 in Premium, and 266 in Economy.
The Business cabin will feature seats that convert into fully flat beds with direct aisle access, while the Premium cabin provides a modern and comfortable experience, the airline said.
With this launch, all three airlines of the Air France-KLM Group – Air France, KLM, and Transavia – will offer service to Saudi Arabia.
Transavia France has been connecting Paris-Orly and Lyon to Jeddah since December 2024, while KLM links its Amsterdam-Schiphol hub to Riyadh and Dammam.

Emirates Launches Complimentary Coach Service

In a move to further enhance the travel experience for its Filipino passengers, Emirates will be introducing a new coach service exclusively for economy class customers flying to and from Clark International Airport (CRK). The complimentary service, which started on Tuesday, will connect Trinoma in Quezon City with Clark International Airport in Pampanga, offering a convenient and seamless transit option. The coach service will be available to Emirates passengers holding a valid flight ticket and traveling between Clark and Trinoma, with pickup and drop-off points located at the New Genesis P2P Trinoma Bus Terminal (code: TRP) and at Clark International Airport (CRK) in Pampanga. The service will be offered exclusively to economy class passengers booked on an Emirates flight. To be eligible for the coach service, passengers must hold an Emirates-issued ticket with the ticket number beginning with 176. Travelers must also have a confirmed coach booking at least 48 hours in advance, as those without prior reservation or a valid Emirates ticket will not be allowed to board. When buying flight tickets on customers must specify Trinoma (TRP) as the departure or arrival city to ensure that their booking on the bus is included on their flight ticket. For flight tickets purchased through an Emirates office or travel agent, customers should request the agent to include the Trinoma (TRP) bus on the ticket before issuing the ticket. This initiative is part of Emirates' ongoing commitment to improving accessibility while elevating the travel experience for its Filipino customers, particularly those based in Metro Manila and nearby areas. Through this offering, Emirates aims to make flying from the airport more convenient and stress-free. Emirates launched services to Manila in 1990 and grew its operations to include a circular service to Cebu and Clark. The airline currently serves the Philippines with 28 weekly flights, offering approximately 22,700 weekly seats to and from Dubai and connecting travellers to over 140 destinations across the airline's global network. Earlier this year, Emirates signed a new agreement with the Department of Tourism Philippines to help develop inbound visitor traffic from its expansive global network. The airline also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Philippine Airlines (PAL), to explore the potential expansion of their partnership across both passenger and cargo operations. Bahrain Becomes First Emirates Route Served

Bahrain has become the first destination in the Emirates network to be exclusively served by the state-of-the-art Airbus A350, following the arrival of the airline's third A350 at Bahrain International Airport on 2 June. The milestone was marked by the deployment of Emirates' third daily A350 flight (EK835), which departed Dubai at 0200 hrs and landed in Bahrain at 0215 hrs. The return flight, EK836, departed Bahrain at 0340 hrs and arrived in Dubai at 0605 hrs. The strategic move aligns with Emirates' 'Fly Better' initiative, aimed at enhancing passenger experience and modernising its fleet. The Airbus A350 offers next-generation features, including 32 Business Class lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, 21 Premium Economy seats in a 2-3-2 layout, and 259 Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 layout. Passengers can enjoy faster Wi-Fi, Emirates' award-winning ice entertainment system, quieter cabins, higher ceilings, and advanced cabin lighting – all designed to maximise comfort and reduce travel fatigue. Emirates' decision to deploy the A350 exclusively to Bahrain underscores its commitment to the Kingdom and highlights the strengthening ties between the two countries. The A350 currently operates on several short and medium-haul routes, including Amman, Kuwait, Edinburgh, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Colombo, and Tunis.
