Galaxy S25 Ultra has a hidden design flaw – and it's peeling off

The Galaxy S25 series comes with a new rear camera ring design, which differentiates it from the Galaxy S24. The previous generation had a subtle ring around the cameras, but the new flagships have thicker, rubbed rings that look quite gorgeous... but have a little hidden defect, apparently. Soon after the phones were launched, it was discovered that beneath these camera rings was another set of camera rings, similar to the ones the Galaxy S24 phones rocked. Apparently, Samsung glued the new ones on top of the old ones, in a way... and it seems it may not have done a good job by gluing them, as for some people, the rings are coming off.
User @parthosarathi_b on X (via SamMobile) shares that the ring on one of the cameras of their Galaxy S25 Ultra has fallen off. Of course, the device doesn't look as cool without it. The user claims the ring came off without any physical damage to the device, which, if true, is frankly terrible. Especially when you take into account the fact that the Galaxy S25 Ultra starts at $1,299!
According to the user post, the other camera rings are holding strong, so the problem may not be due to an engineering issue. More likely, it could be a quality control issue. Unfortunately, when the user went to the service center, the representatives didn't have spare rings to fix the fancy look of their Galaxy S25 Ultra , and an order for those was placed. Well, the user will have to wait for the delivery and then visit the service center once again to get their Ultra phone back to its former glory.
Meanwhile, soon after the release of the phones, the design of the camera rings was criticized by famous YouTuber JerryRigEverything. Back then, he expected problems to arise from this design down the road, and maybe, his predictions are coming true. I would personally be quite angry if such an expensive phone like the Galaxy S25 Ultra gets "disassembled" easily. It's not something that makes the phone unusable, alright, but it's annoying, especially if you paid so much money for it...
But for now, this seems to be rather an isolated problem: people on Reddit do not report encountering problems like the one above just yet.
However, many do indicate the rings collect dust. Hopefully, Samsung will fix this problem with the next iteration of its premium phones, the Galaxy S26 series.

Apple's hidden AirPods Pro 3 code in iOS 26 Beta tells us when to expect it to arrive
The next version of the AirPods Pro could feature new health features such as the ability to track the user's heart rate and temperature. The one question that everyone wants to know is that with Apple reported to be looking at adding cameras to its AirPods, could we see that in AirPods Pro 3 ? Unfortunately, if the latter model is released this year, it will probably not include a camera. In fact, TF International's Hall of Fame Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says not to expect major changes to AirPods until next year. Steve Moser discovered code about the AirPods Pro 3 in the iOS 26 Beta 1 release. | Image credit-X Kuo says that in 2026 Apple will start building its wireless earbuds with an infrared camera similar to what is used for Face ID. The camera could allow users to enable some kind of in-air gesture controls allowing users to control the device through hand gestures. The camera could also allow AirPods to give users an AI experience similar to Visual Intelligence. This could allow users to hear more about a restaurant they are standing in front of, or hear about a landmark that they are looking at. In other words, the AirPods camera could help to give a user contextual information through the earbud. I really can't see Apple releasing an AirPods Pro 3 this year and coming back next year with an AirPods Pro 4 with a camera. The AirPods Pro 2 was released in 2022 so if we do get a sequel this year, a version with a camera might not show up until 2028. Perhaps that's not a bad thing for Apple. Even though a Visual Intelligence feature for AirPods Pro could be dynamite, the extra time could help the tech giant perfect it. Considering the delays and underwhelming response to Apple Intelligence, Apple's best bet is to roll out the AirPods Pro 3 this year with no camera and come back in 2028 with the AirPods Pro 4 featuring a camera and Visual Intelligence. Unlike those guys that Tim pays millions of dollars to each year for advice like this, he is getting my plan for nothing.

OnePlus to expand its mid-range portfolio with two new phones
OnePlus has become a constant name making headlines in tech media. The Chinese handset maker no longer limits itself to just one or two flagships per year. The Nord series and its new Android tablets make OnePlus a worthy competitor for more established brands like Motorola, Samsung, Xiaomi, and this regard, it looks like OnePlus has two new mid-range phoned in the pipeline, the Nord 5 and Nord CE5. These devices have been rumored for quite some time, but we never had a timeframe for their release until recently. The latest OnePlus leak claims both Nord series phones will be introduced on July 8. This is a bit strange since the handset maker typically releases these phones separately. For example, the Nord CE4 debuted last year in April, whereas the Nord 4 was launched back in July. While it makes perfect sense for OnePlus to launch the Nord 4 successor around the same time this year, it's odd that the Chinese company decided to combine it with yet another member of the Nord series. The original OnePlus Nord | Image credit: PhoneArena It remains to be seen whether or not this rumor proves to be accurate, so here is a quick recap of what we know about the two phones so far. First off, the Nord 5 is expected to pack a high-end MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset, this is the same processor OnePlus uses in the Ace 5 Racing Edition (China only) and Realme's GT the Nord 5 is rumored to boast a stunning OLED panel with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and in-display fingerprint sensor. As far as the camera is concerned, OnePlus Nord 5 is said to feature a dual-camera system that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Previous reports also claim the OnePlus Nord 5 will be powered by a massive 7,000 mAh battery with 100W wired charging speeds and will feature a 16-megapixel selfie snapper. Moving on to the Nord CE5, this is going to be a dumbed down version of the Nord 5. It will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, 8GB RAM, and 256GB internal storage. The Nord CE5 is rumored to feature the same dual camera as the Nord 5, and a similar 16-megapixel front-facing snapper. Also, the mid-ranger phone is expected to sport a 6.7-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, and an extremely large 7,100 mAh battery with 80W wired charging support.

Huawei CEO says its chips are just one generation behind the U.S.
With the release of the 5nm Kirin X90 processor designed by Huawei and built by SMIC for the former's new foldable laptop, the beleaguered Chinese manufacturer says that it is just one generation behind the U.S. TSMC and Samsung Foundry will be shipping 2nm chips to clients next year so perhaps right at this moment, Huawei's 5nm components are just one generation behind the 3nm silicon being used on flagship smartphones like the iPhone at the moment. Thanks to pressure from the U.S., Huawei, and SMIC are unable to obtain Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) Lithography machines from the one company in the world that makes them, Dutch firm ASML, Huawei and SMIC are only able to use older Deep Ultraviolet (DUV) Lithography machines which prevent Huawei and SMIC from catching up to TSMC and Samsung. The EUV and DUV machines transfer circuitry patterns to a silicon wafer which is the foundation of the chips manufactured by the foundries. By printing smaller features on silicon wafers, EUVs can create patterns that allow more transistors to be shoehorned inside a higher a chip's transistor count, the more powerful and energy-efficient it is. In order to make the 5nm Kirin X90 chip, it is believed that SMIC resorted to using an advanced multiple patterning technique called Self-Aligned Quadruple Patterning (SAQP). Usually, EUV lithography is needed to produce chips at 7nm and lower. By using SAQP, SMIC shrinks the features to a size smaller than what a single DUV impression can deliver. There are issues with this technique. It can lead to lower yields and also raise the price of chips produced with this technology. The Kirin X90 processor made by SMIC using its 5nm N+2 node. | Image credit-Alibaba Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei told state-run People's Daily that it invests 180 billion yuan ($25.07 billion) in research annually and that it sees promise in chips made using different elements. Talking about the U.S. sanctions that prevent Huawei from obtaining and making cutting-edge chips, Ren said that there is "no need to worry about the chip problem." The Huawei executive also said, "Our single chip is still behind the U.S. by a generation. We use mathematics to supplement physics, non-Moore's law to supplement Moore's law, and cluster computing to supplement single chips and the results can also achieve practical conditions. Software is not a bottleneck for us." Moore's Law is the observation made by the late Gordon Moore, the co-founder and CEO of Intel, that the number of transistors inside chips double every other year. While this is no longer strictly the case, Moore's Law continues to be a symbol of the efforts made by the chip industry to continue making chips more powerful, energy-efficient, and smaller.
