Heard was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages due to the statements made by Depp's attorney Adam Waldman. Heard owes $10.35 million to Depp, an amount that her lawyers have said she cannot afford to pay. Heard and her team have tried to appeal, but have been unsuccessful in their endeavors.
One big role that the actress is known for is playing Mera, in 'Aquaman' with Jason Mamoa. She also plays the character in the 2017 'Justice League' and in 'Zack Snyder's Justice League.' She is in the 'Aquaman' sequel, 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom' that is set to come out in 2023, even though her appearance in the "Aquaman" sequel has became controversial after the legal situation with her and Depp.
Even though Depp was Heard's most public relationship, she has also been connected with painter and photographer Tasya van Ree in 2008, model Cara Delevingne, Tesla founder and billionaire Elon musk on and off from 2016-2018 and art dealer Vito Schnabel. She does however have a a daughter Oonagh Paige Heard, who was born via surrogate April 8, 2021.

Man Stabs 12 in Spree at Oregon Homeless Shelter, Police Say
A man went on a stabbing spree at a homeless shelter in Salem, Ore., on Sunday, injuring 12 people — five seriously — before he was arrested near the facility, the authorities said. The man, Tony Latrell Williams, 42, of Bend, Ore., was talking with several people in the lobby of the facility, Union Gospel Mission, when he took out a knife and began stabbing people, the Salem Police Department said in news release. The victims ranged in age from 26 to 57, the police said. They said that two victims were staff members, and the 10 others were either guests at the shelter or were just outside the facility. Five of the victims, all men, remained hospitalized on Monday, the police said. The attack did not appear to have been targeted, though the investigation was continuing, the police said. Mr. Williams was arraigned on Monday on one count of attempted murder and 11 counts of second-degree assault, said Brendan P. Murphy, the chief deputy district attorney for Marion County, Ore. He did not enter a plea because he did not have legal representation, Mr. Murphy said. Mr. Williams is being held without bail at the Marion County Jail pending his next court appearance, set for June 9. Mayor Julie Hoy of Salem said in a statement it was not yet clear why the attack 'happened in our community.' 'We do know that this is a tragedy for the 12 victims and their families, the Union Gospel Mission community and Salem,' Ms. Hoy said. In wake of deep cuts, NOAA says it will hire for 'mission-critical' weather service positions
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said Monday it will hire for 'mission-critical field positions' amid expert warnings that the National Weather Service has been cut too sharply just as hurricane season arrives. An agency spokesperson said in a statement the positions will be advertised under a temporary reprieve from the federal government's widespread hiring pause 'to further stabilize frontline operations.' NOAA also said they are filling some field office openings by reassigning staff, including some temporary hires. The agency didn't say how many jobs would be posted and refused to provide more details. Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency cuts gutted NWS and NOAA — which provide daily weather forecasts, up-to-the-minute severe storm warnings, climate monitoring and extreme weather tracking — earlier this year. Hundreds of weather forecasters were fired and other federal NOAA employees were put on probationary status in February, followed by a later round of more than 1,000 cuts at the agency. By April, nearly half of NWS forecast offices had 20% vacancy rates. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has also been affected. The new hires would be seen by the scientific community as especially imperative as the agency predicts a busy hurricane season and more tornados. In recent years, greenhouse gas emission-driven climate change has fueled more frequent, deadly, costly and increasingly nasty storms. The weather service's mission includes warning people in danger with enough time to evacuate or find safe shelter. The cuts forced weather forecast offices to reduce their hours or no longer staff overnight shifts in less critical periods. Insiders and experts have warned of the consequences that a staffing shortage would mean for weather forecasting amid extreme weather and the U.S. economy. 'In 2024, NOAA was able to offer some of its most accurate weather forecasting to date for active hurricanes,' said Union of Concerned Scientists science fellow Marc Alessi. 'These incredibly accurate forecasts were made possible by a fully funded NOAA.
