Kamal Haasan
's much-anticipated reunion after 36 years has finally materialized in the form of 'Thug Life,' a pan-Indian film set for release on June 5. Music composed by Oscar-winner A.R.
Rahman, the film boasts a stellar cast including Silambarasan T.R.
, Joju George, Trisha, Nassar, Ashok Selvan, Abhirami,
Aishwarya Lekshmi
, and Sanya Malhotra. Kamal Haasan plays Rangaraya Sakthivel Nayakkar, a character that has already sparked major buzz. Their earlier collaboration, 'Nayakan' (1987), is considered one of Indian cinema's most iconic films, and the anticipation around this new venture is immense.
Early review declares a cult classic in the making
Ahead of the global release, the first review of 'Thug Life' by social media film critic Umair Sandhu has gone viral.
After watching the Hindi-dubbed version in Mumbai during its censor screening, Sandhu tweeted that the film is a 'cult classic thriller' loaded with power-packed performances and gripping action. He particularly praised the chemistry and screen presence of Kamal Haasan and STR, calling their scenes 'goosebump-inducing.
' Umair Sandhu also called the AR Rahman-Mani Ratnam combination 'deadly' and rated the film 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Controversy strikes in Karnataka over language remark
Meanwhile, the film has stirred controversy in Karnataka, where Kannada groups are protesting its release over a past remark by Kamal about the Tamil origins of the Kannada language. They have demanded an apology, but supporters of Kamal, including members of his MNM party, have rallied behind him with posters and statements asserting that no apology will be made.
Kamal Haasan took legal steps to ensure the film's release in the state, but it failed and the team has paused the film's release in Karnataka till June 10.
Music, momentum & massive hype drive the film forward
Despite the challenges, 'Thug Life' is gaining huge traction. With Rahman's chart-topping soundtrack and sky-high ticket bookings, industry watchers believe the film could replicate the success of 'Vikram.' The controversy may just be fueling more interest serving as unintentional but effective free promotion.

Iran says US travel ban reflects 'racist mentality'

Tehran denounced on Saturday the US travel ban on Iranians and citizens of 11 other mostly Middle Eastern and African countries, saying Washington's decision was a sign of a " racist mentality ". US President Donald Trump signed on Wednesday an executive order reviving sweeping restrictions that echo his first-term travel ban, justified on national security grounds following a firebomb attack at a pro-Israel rally in Colorado. Alireza Hashemi-Raja, the foreign ministry's director general for the affairs of Iranians abroad, called the measure, which takes effect June 9, "a clear sign of the dominance of a supremacist and racist mentality among American policymakers". The decision "indicates the deep hostility of American decision-makers towards the Iranian and Muslim people", he added in a statement released by the ministry. Apart from Iran, the US ban targets nationals of Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. A partial ban was imposed on travellers from seven other countries. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas In Dubai | Search Ads Get Rates Undo Hashemi-Raja said the policy "violates fundamental principles of international law" and deprives "hundreds of millions of people of the right to travel based solely on their nationality or religion". The foreign ministry official said that the ban was discriminatory and would "entail international responsibility for the US government", without elaborating. Iran and the US severed diplomatic ties shortly after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and relations have remained deeply strained since. Live Events

Prince Narula drops explosive hint about Elvish Yadav's secret side amid Roadies feud: 'Uske baad izzat nahi rahegi...'

In the never-ending saga of reality TV drama , Roadies XX has once again proven that the battle doesn't end when the cameras stop rolling. What began as a high-stakes finale has now spiraled into a full-blown war of words between two of the show's most talked-about figures—Prince Narula and YouTuber-turned-gang leader Elvish Yadav. And now, Prince has added fuel to the fire by claiming that Elvish has a dark side the world hasn't seen—and shouldn't. Prince Narula's Shocking Revelation Speaking in a candid interview with entertainment journalist Siddharth Kannan, Prince Narula didn't mince his words when asked about his strained equation with Elvish Yadav. Without naming specifics, Prince hinted at a murky, hidden side of the YouTuber's personality that, if revealed, could end Elvish's career in a heartbeat. ' Bilkul nahi hai. Main aadhi cheeze bata nahi sakta. Bata diya toh kaam karne ke layak nahi rahega, ' Prince said, suggesting that even a partial disclosure of what he knows could shatter Elvish's public image. He further added, " Uske baad izzat nahi rahegi. " According to him, the information in question has already been witnessed by others in Elvish's circle, and he plans to confront Elvish face-to-face rather than airing the dirty laundry in public. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like If You Eat Ginger Everyday for 1 Month This is What Happens Tips and Tricks Undo This cryptic bombshell has sent fans and followers into a frenzy, speculating on what skeletons might be lurking in Elvish's closet. From Online Banter to Public Spats: A Feud That Refuses to Die The drama between Elvish Yadav and Prince Narula isn't new—it traces back to their volatile interactions on Roadies XX , particularly during the finale task that left both audiences and contestants divided. The friction escalated when Gullu (Kushal Tandon) had to choose a partner from the finalists. His decision to pair up Priya, a member of Rhea Chakraborty's gang, with Hartaj, a part of Prince's team, didn't sit well with the seasoned Roadies mentor. Prince wanted Gullu to reconsider, but Elvish jumped into the fray, sparking an ugly argument that saw Prince label Elvish an "online badmaash." Elvish, never one to back down, shot back with his trademark sass: ' You do some good work. If you lose this show too, there will be nothing left for you. Laale pad jaayenge khaana khaane ke. ' Is the Fight Personal or a Performance? While many have been gripped by the theatrics, others are simply confused. Social media is split, with some siding with Prince for standing his ground and others criticizing him for what they see as continuous jibes at Elvish—even after the show ended. Some netizens feel that Prince, who earlier had taken potshots at rapper Raftaar and actor Gautam Gulati, is going too far in targeting Elvish. Prince, for his part, remains unapologetic. Reacting to praise from paps about shaking the Roadies system, he quipped sarcastically: ' System tha konsa, jo hang ho gaya? Kaam kare apna vo bhi. ' In what appeared to be a dig at the growing trend of influencers entering mainstream reality shows, he added, ' Industry mein rehna hai toh sabse pyaar se raho. Har bill mein haath nahi daalna chahiye, kisi mein sawa sher mil jaate hain. ' Fans Left Guessing: What's the Real Story? Despite the drama, one thing remains unclear: why are Prince and Elvish really fighting? Was it simply about a finale task, or is there something deeper simmering beneath the surface? You Might Also Like: Elvish Yadav vs Prince Narula: Gang leaders threaten physical violence against each other in Roadies XX viral video What's certain is that this feud has long outgrown Roadies XX. It's become a spectacle in its own right—one that continues to unfold through Instagram Lives, paparazzi interactions, and now explosive interviews. As Prince hints at unrevealed controversies and Elvish continues to enjoy massive fandom, audiences are left guessing: will these two ever bury the hatchet, or is this just another episode in the never-ending series of reality TV rivalries?
