US Army soldier found dead in Honduras
An Army helicopter pilot was found dead on Saturday, May 3 in Honduras, U.S. Southern Command's Joint Task Force-Bravo announced Sunday evening.
The U.S. military said that 1st Lt. Marciano Parisano, 25, of Cibolo, Texas, was found dead in Comayagua, Honduras on May 3, 2025. According to local Honduran media, he was found near the Chiquito River area. Police searched the area for several hours and recovered a damaged phone which they believe was Parisano's. He was serving as a UH-60 helicopter pilot with 1st Battalion, 228 Aviation Regiment.
Joint Task Force-Bravo said that Parisano was on a liberty pass when he went off base. An investigation is ongoing.
'It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts; we acknowledge the passing of Lieutenant Marciano Parisano. He served our unit and mission here at Soto Cano Air Base with dignity, pride and courage,' Army Col. Daniel Alder, head of Joint Task Force-Bravo, said in a statement Sunday night.
As part of his duties, Parisano was assigned to Soto Cano Air Base — the main post for Joint Task Force-Bravo, the U.S. military's lead expeditionary force in central and southern America — is located.
'As a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot with the 228 Aviation Regiment, his contribution to our team is immeasurable. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him and serve with him,' Alder's statement continued. 'The command team extends our deepest condolences to 1st Lt. Marciano Parisano's family, friends and loved ones. We stand with you in this time of grief. One soldier lost is one too many.'

Officials looking for a Washington state father wanted for the murders of his three young daughters have released recent Ring camera footage and photos of him as they seek help from the public in finding him. The video and images are from the days leading up to 32-year-old Travis Decker's visitation with his daughters on Friday, which is when they went missing. "These are the most recent photos and videos we have that reveal his last known appearance," the Chelan County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Travis Decker, wanted in the murders of his three young daughters, is seen in days leading up to their disappearance. Chelan County Sheriff's Office The girls' mother had reported to Wenatchee police on Friday that Decker did not return them on time following the planned visit, which she told them was out of the ordinary. She had tried to call him multiple times, but the calls went straight to voicemail, she said. On Monday, the bodies of the three girls, ages 9, 8 and 5, were found at a campground in central Washington. Decker's unoccupied pickup truck was also found. Decker, a former Army soldier, is well-versed in wilderness survival and able to spend days at a time off the grid with little equipment, police said. When the girls were reporting missing Friday, Washington State Patrol was contacted to request an Amber Alert, but officials said the information provided did not meet the required criteria. "In this case, it was a parent with custodial privileges, and the children had not been returned home on time. But that's a rather common occurrence and not something where you just automatically assume abduction," Washington State Patrol spokesperson Chris Loftis said, adding there was no indication Decker would harm the girls. The girls' mother had told police Decker was experiencing some mental health issues when she reported her daughters missing, according to a court document. It wasn't clear if that was conveyed with the request for an Amber Alert. An endangered and missing person alert was activated Saturday, which generates a flyer that is distributed statewide, Wenatchee Police Captain Brian Chance explained at a news conference Tuesday. It's the end of an era for a beloved Japanese-inspired restaurant in Austin, TX. East Side King owner Paul Qui announced that he's hanging up his apron at that joint after 15 years in business. The popular joint on South Lamar will close its doors for the last time on June 7. The restaurant's food truck already shuttered on May 31. Qui, who won Bravo's Top Chef Texas, said it's not exactly a total goodbye. The company will still offer catering, but it's brick-and-mortar, along with the food truck, will be a thing of the past. "We are here for a good time not a long time and it's our time. East Side King is officially hanging up their apron and will be celebrating two final week of service," Qui shared on social media. "We have been honored to serve the Austin community for over 15 years and want to give a really big effing thank you to all the incredible people we have worked with along the way! and all the fantastic customers who kept us going! and especially all the support we have received from the weirdest community in Texas. We love yall so much. Come through and get your tori fix, say what's up to moto and take a pic with the tanuki. This isn't goodbye but see ya l8r sk8r." Qui's not exactly parting with the location, however, According to reports, the building will be converted into Roselle Pizzeria and open its doors sometime in September. And the kitchen staff will remain intact. If Qui's name rings a bell it's because, back in early 2016, he was enjoying immense success building an empire that included a chic hotel in Miami. But the James Beard Award winner ran into trouble in March of that year, when he was arrested by Austin police after he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend at their apartment. According to Eater Austin, Qui smashed a phone, broke a coffee table and injured himself in the process. Following his arrest, Qui denied in an interview with the Austin American-Statesman that he punched his girlfriend, whom cops alleged was found with a bruised arm and a swollen jaw. But more than two years later, the assault charges filed against Qui were dropped after the embattled chef's girlfriend refused to cooperate with prosecutors. Nevertheless, East Side King's sudden closure was met with shock and sadness. One patron commented on the IG post, "Damn. I would eat there once a week. Please gimme the recipe for the beet fries... 😢." Another added, "Just fell to my knees 💔💔💔 when I was broke, experiencing my first familial death and in between moves/jobs I started working on E. 6th and lived on the liberty rice lol. Military spouse killing sentencing continues with emotional testimony
HONOLULU (KHON2) — The sentencing phase of the court martial hearing for Army Pfc. Dewayne Johnson took place on June 4, with the session containing emotional testimony. The phase follows Johnson's guilty plea to two counts of voluntary manslaughter, obstruction of justice and providing false statements in the brutal killing of his pregnant wife, 19-year-old Mischa Johnson. Johnson also wiped tears away from his face during Mischa's sister's testimony, where she called the victim her 'best friend,' and highlighted the anguish brought by her little sister's part of the plea deal, Johnson admitted to using a machete during an argument to strike Mischa on the head, where he then dismembered and disposed of her remains. In exchange, his charge was reduced to voluntary manslaughter. The government is asking for the maximum sentence of 23 years in prison, with the defense asking for the minimum of 18 years. The judge will make her decision on Johnson's sentence on June 5.
