
International Yoga Day 2025: CISF Successfully Wraps Up Celebrations Across Units
As the International Yoga Day 2025 was observed on Saturday, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) also participated in the celebrations across all its 430-plus units and formations nationwide.
The CISF units and formations engaged in Yoga practices every day throughout June.
Furthermore, trained Yoga practitioners conducted special classes in which CISF personnel, their families, school students, and people from nearby localities participated.
As per a release from the CISF, the initiatives undertaken were able to create awareness and interest that led to a growing number of citizens connecting with the aim.
Throughout the entire month of June, CISF units and formations were engaged in rigorous daily Yoga practices. Trained Yoga practitioners conducted specialized classes, not only for CISF personnel and their families but also extending this invaluable opportunity to school students and willing individuals from nearby localities. These initiatives successfully cultivated widespread awareness and interest, leading to a growing number of citizens connecting with this meaningful endeavor.
Celebrations Of June 21
As a part of the celebrations, public Yoga sessions were conducted at select historical locations, local attractions, heritage landmarks, and public parks. The selection of the sites for the conduct of the Yoga sessions was strategic and aimed to showcase the 'collective public effort' and India's rich cultural heritage.

Yoga Day Participation At CISF HQs
At CISF Headquarters in the CGO Complex, Delhi, more than 100 personnel participated in the Yoga practice at the CISF Meraki Lawns. This event saw the active participation of all personnel, including Additional Director General (Headquarters), Shri Padmakar Ranpise, who led the session under the direction of trained Yoga practitioners.
'Yoga for One Earth, One Health'
The CISF embraced International Yoga Day 2025's theme, "Yoga for One Earth, One Health," as declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier.
The execution of International Yoga Day embodied the spirit of "Yoga for Self and Society."
The release also stated, "The CISF recognizes that yoga is far more than just physical exercise; it's a profound science that cultivates discipline, enhances endurance, and fosters a calm and focused mindset—all vital attributes for its dedicated personnel."
"Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to well-being, the CISF has proactively integrated yoga into its training programs and explored initiatives such as offering simple yogic exercises to passengers on flights, extending its positive influence beyond its immediate mandate," it added.

Here are some glimpses,' the post reads. Meanwhile, in Gujarat's Vadnagar, a total of 2,121 people made a Guinness World Record when they held the Cobra pose for two minutes and nine seconds. According to Richard Stunning, official adjudicator at Guinness World Records, a record with a title for the most people performing the cobra pose in yoga began on Saturday. The minimum number of participants for the record was 250; they had to hold the Yoga Cobra pose for at least a minute. A total of 2,184 participants breached the one-minute timeline; they ended up holding the cobra pose for two minutes and nine seconds. The Guinness World Records discounted 64 participants, after which 2,121 participants held the cobra pose for two minutes and nine seconds to clinch the Guinness World Record. 'The Guinness World Records title that starts today is the most people performing the cobra pose in yoga, simultaneously. We set a guideline that everyone had to do it for at least a minute each, and we set a minimum target of 250 participants. Today, they did it for more than a minute, they did it for two minutes and nine seconds, and the total was 2185. We had to discount 64 participants. So the confirmed title is 2,121 participants. Navy personnel perform yoga on Beach Road and warships at sea
Visakhapatnam: As the sun rose over the RK Beach in Vizag city on Saturday, Sunrise Command (Eastern Naval Command) personnel and their families, along with residents from parts of Andhra Pradesh, came together to join Prime Minister Narendra Modi on their yoga mats, embracing the energy of the sea and sky. Offshore, warships swayed gently with sailors performing yoga on their decks. This demonstrated the Navy's commitment to this year's Yoga Day theme—'Yoga for One Earth, One Health' Over 11,000 naval personnel from the Navy's Eastern Naval Command and their family members participated in the grand celebrations in Vizag city marking the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21. The naval personnel and their family members occupied around 10 enclosures along the RK Beach stretch , which was the main venue for the event, thus forming an integral part of the historic gathering. In a parallel display at sea, yoga was performed by the uniform personnel on board six Indian naval ships and two ships of the Indian Coast Guard anchored off Visakhapatnam. The impressive maritime line up includes frontline eastern fleet ships and two coast guard offshore patrol vessels.

Students, police and armed forces mark Yoga Day in Coimbatore
International Yoga Day saw large-scale participation in Coimbatore on Friday, with events held across educational institutions and public venues. At the Isha Yoga Centre, over 200 personnel from the Rapid Action Force in Vellalore and the 35th and 43rd regiments from Madukkarai and Sulur took part in yoga training. The event was part of more than 2,500 free sessions conducted by Isha Foundation across the country, reaching over 10,000 security personnel and members of the public. At the Police Recruits School campus in the city, more than 100 police personnel participated in a 40-minute yoga session led by City Police Commissioner A. Saravana Sundar, organised by the Coimbatore City Police. Educational institutions also observed the day. At Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, students demonstrated yoga postures and performed a themed dance. At Nirmala College for Women, 1,000 incoming students attended a session led by a certified trainer, while T.V. Sekharan Memorial School hosted yoga practitioners who guided students through daily practices. Former Minister S.P. Velumani joined students at Brindavan Vidyalaya in Madukkarai for a yoga session and spoke about its role in improving mental calm and physical health. VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science collaborated with Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Thondamuthur, for a joint programme. S. Nirmala Devi, SKY Professor from The World Community Service Center, led a session encouraging students to take up yoga as a daily routine.
